Wonderfully written book, I can’t even imagine how difficult that was. I’m so glad you and your siblings are healing.

Toby isn’t the only evil one. Brenda (the mother) knew about the abuse and did nothing. She was a good Christian and 'forgave' him. In her book, Jessica describes giving her mother a long 10+ page letter about the assaults. The family’s statement post-arrest falsely claimed that Brenda was “shocked” by the revelations. She was only shocked that Jessica overcame her brainwashing and put a stop to it. Good for Jessica for singing solo and keeping distance from her mother. Her siblings were actually mad at her for notifying the police! So sick.

Just read book…it’s well done. Just saddened that humans who should be trusted - are actually abusive.

I would never have figured out that I was sexually abused by my father until I was finally told that my friend's father sexually abused her and went to prison for it. Words were put to someone else's experience that was the same as mine. It just was it just was a hidden shadowy secret that I didn't even know was there

I worked as a counselor in drug/alcohol after I got one-in-four girls are molested one-in-five boys are molested one and six women are raped and ninety-seven percent of time you know your perpetrator. 98% of men and 2% of women that are doing the violations. And look at how they treat the victim and blame them instead of the men. Why aren't more people talking about the statistical data. When these women are being interviewed why aren't that interviewer bringing me stats it's from the CDC in 1980. This is an epidemic and men have gotten away with it for centuries!!!!!!!!

She is a great writer. She had an awful story to tell but there was hope in the way she told it
