Wow! Truck looks amazing, so well thought out! Pull out drawer and roof-rack hmmmm, nice combination 🙂🙂 Really looking forward to your international travels, who knows maybe we will bump into you again. 🍁
I love your channel, specially everytime you guys go to Baja congrats on the new build but as a "car guy" I have to ask, why not keep the old truck? (it's not even that old) asking because those 5.7's are bullet proof and for international travel it would be easier to find parts, the new Tundras are having serious engine issues, look into it before going south, congrats and good luck!!
I Always enjoy a proper rig tour (this one and the others ones) & nice to know the reasons for the change👍 Evolution is golden. I've had a truck camper and was not a fan 'at all'. Ya'll certainly have an idea of what you like with the way you like to travel and being your second iteration says something! OMG - 11 MPG (ur gonna wanna bring more gas--:) My Transit gets 15.5 mpg - & I drive aggressively. How much does the rig weight (all in - full gas/water/food/you)??? (my van 8K lbs) Happy Trails
Parts availability (and service) is definitely a plus with Toyota’s. I live in Kazakhstan and I’ve seen only one F150 and one RAM, but tons of Toyota trucks and SUVs.
@@BoundForNowhere you’ll definitely see more Fords in Europe, but it’ll dwindle down the further you head east.😆 All the best on your travels and looking forward to the videos!
If you slide the camper +-12” back on the flatbed you would have plenty of room for a spare tire, extra fuel, and trash. It would also give you more truck roof space for the air deflection to increase your fuel mileage.
Ok the Speed Racer all white with you stripes coveralls . Include your sponsors like NASCAR, Dope! So compared to Roxanne (5.7L vs V6 TT)e does Jolene have enough, the same or less power in the grand scheme of things? Definite upgrade on everything makes you realize how good you have it and have earned it now! I am going to design a similar flatbed for my Ram with a hidden 50+ gallon tank. Love the video and Always the out takes!
You two need to do a creators workshop, because I would love to know how you structured your brand partner deals/sponsorship deals. Among a million other thins.
Maybe one day! I think that would be so much fun! Owen used to teach Motion Graphics at a design school, he loves teaching and I really enjoy it too! Just don't have educator on my resume ;)
Joleeeeeeeeen! cant wait to follow your adventures!! Question on your power system. I have a similar build but deleted all Propane. I'm guessing you powered up your AC outlets with your Inverter? I have, but found connecting to my 4wc shore power with an inverter switch feeds back into my manager 30. No big deal, i just flip the 4wc Converter switch and all is fine...I think KP runs a dedicated line from inverter to outlets but then if im on shore power I cant run my ac outlets from there, only the inverter (which would be fine) I just didn't want to run dedicated lines and reroute my shore power. what did you guys come up with around this? I also went with a 4000 redarc inverter as well because when i deleted the propane and went with petrol heating and hot water (timberline system) there was sooooo much room for more stuff! I run the heater off a spare tire 30+ gallon secondary fuel tank, and hang the spare tire off a westcott bolted to the back of the tray.
Whoa, unless you are driving over 75 that 11mpg sounds way too thirsty. Does it have enough miles on it to make sure the break-in is done? Did it come with special break-in motor oil (that you aren't supposed to change early) that you accidentally changed early? I would expect 13 to 14mpg and you are using 20% more than that. Does that measurement only count for a short distance that included idling, offroad or uphill? Just curious but what did your last Tundra average which had similar weight and aerodynamics?
We don't. Because at the end of the day, if it is an issue, there is no continent that is without a Toyota tech. And besides, they don't put things on the market without testing. We trust the brand
@@BoundForNowhereI do have concerns. I recommend you do a YT search of twin turbo issues/failures. I own a '12 5.7 so I am not a hater, just be careful. 🙏
The truck build looks great. I'm wondering why you went with a completely new truck? Why not just put a new flatbed, camper, and power system on the old truck? A main priority is reliability and the old Tundra had that in spades. The new one not so much. It's much more complex and has a questionable engine. Look up all the problems people are having with the new twin-turbo. Some people are on their second or even third engines. This hasn't just happened in the first two years of the truck it's happened on 2024 trucks as well.
@@BoundForNowhere ok, but I have an induction cooker in my FWC…. Was a lot cheaper than a new truck, flat bed, mods, and new FWC…… I don’t have sponsors though.
Think of what you might need when it comes to part's that's needed when you brake down out in the wilderness or desert to back yourself up in case of emergency.
Y'all are going to fall in love with New Zealand, when you go. I hope it's on the top of your list. you could spend a year there easily. so many fantastic shore breaks, ENDLESS photo ops and absolutely phenomenal food!
I thought the Tundra is mainly a North American truck with regards to global parts availability? I was considering getting 1st/2nd Gen Tundra or even the T-100 for global parts considerations.
I really like the stripes! Reminds me of the Tonka toys I use to play with as a kid. Looking forward to seeing what kind of performance ya'll get with the hard mount Starlink system, signal consistency wise, and how much of a draw it puts on your house battery system.
Vids are great but that is no overlanding rig. A lift kit, tires and shocks are pieces to an 'overlanding' rig. Should have when with an F350 or similar for bigger camper, more solar and more ground clearance. Good luck on your adventures.
That's a nice setup for full time. I loved that you have a web with the detailed components. I'm curios about what digital rear mirror did you pick. It seems like you did a great research, so I'm interested about your decision. Thanks!
Great video! Owen mentioned future proofing as the why of the technical upgrades. Very true. As for the stripe colors, very nice choice. And Boo matches. Can't get much better than that. As always, safe travels.
Your camper turned out great and looks like one of the best set-ups I've seen on any UA-cam channel. If I were to do a build-out of a rig, I'd use your camper as my model. Thanks for sharing.
What’s a rig like that cost? Also, looks like you could slide the box back almost a foot on the flatbed and had the opportunity for a pass through storage box behind the headache rack.
For all of us wondering and for all of us who would aspire to do something like this, can we ask what was the final price for everything? If sponsors did not pay for anything of course
Watching a man fall in love with a drawer was really spectacular. Love the build, y’all!
Geeze the build turned out just how yall envisioned from the beginning. Congratulations! Hope to see it in person one day!
Yeah pretty wild to have it go from idea to finished product right before our eyes. It was a really gratifying process!
Awesome! Really enjoy the drawer as well!
RIGHT!? As you know, Owen loves it too ;)
You both have a unique style of life, and I like it, from the vehicle which is your personality to your travels.
Thank you so much! That means a lot to us

First! I love the series so much, I am strongly considering replicating this since main line is in my city, and I just love the build.
they said 11 mpg
Really nice looking set up. With the flat bed truck, you look like committed overlanders.
LOL This certainly qualifies as a commitment!

It seems like Fords are starting to get out there more, but I agree, it will take a very long time for it to rival Toyotas!

Oh hush, making us blush over here
The theatrics that go into filming yourself living in your car is crazy nowadays

amazing setup! I just wish the length of the flatbed matched the length of the camper.

A lot of random problems with this engine. People call it the tundra roulette. Truck does look nice though

So you went with a Toyota because it lasts forever, yet upgraded after 4 years for more electrical power?
That was a camper thing more so than a truck/toyota thing 😘
@@BoundForNowhere ok, but I have an induction cooker in my FWC…. Was a lot cheaper than a new truck, flat bed, mods, and new FWC…… I don’t have sponsors though.
Who was the lucky person that got your old (5 year old) rig!
A lovely couple that is using her to travel with their two pups!
Wish a company would bring back the Toyota chinook on the tundra platform.
I second that!
Great build and video production! I actually really love the ground tent on flat bed lol.
Right?! We were like… wait, should we just leave it like this?!
HOLLERATCHERBOUNDIES

Love the Tundra! What bumper is that your running? It looks very good.
Thank you! Watching from Hawaii.

Hopefully you both have thought of leafspring up grade brakes system and shocks for the weight your vehicle.
Think of what you might need when it comes to part's that's needed when you brake down out in the wilderness or desert to back yourself up in case of emergency.
What was the MPG on the last Tundra? I was wondering how the new Tundra’s fuel economy would be impacted once all the weight was added on
Also, have you thought of replacing a larger fuel tank if there is room underneath the vehicle.
Ford is a global brand.
Ha! My dog's name is Jolene!

I believe it's on the same platform and shares parts with the newer land cruiser 300 series that the rest of the world gets

We do have *some* room to move back but not that much and sadly it isn't enough for a pass through box, cause that would be AMAZING!
Thank you for sharing, your build is amazing. Question: Did your Toyota have a 5.5 ft bed or a 6.5 ft bed? Thanks again.
6.5! That is the only way for the weight distribution right. The 5.5 puts too much weight behind the rear axel which is super dangerous.
I was just driving North on the 15 and I saw your truck and it made me smile as well 😊
