- BYU-Hawaii's Concert Choir performs Mack Wilberg's arrangement of "Homeward Bound" at the April 12, 2014, Commencement exercises in the Cannon Activities Center. Directed by Michael Belnap with Pononui Cabrinha on the penny whistle and Scott and Stacy McCarrey on the piano.
I am listening to this in 2024. Our daughter,Megan, attended BYU Hawaii and she loved every moment. She was acCalifornia girl who loved the sun and the water. She met her husband at BYUH and they eventually left Hawaii. Unfortunately our daughter lost her life in most unusual and tragic circumstances . She passed away when her only child was just four months old.
I was trying to look for a rendition of “Homeward Bound” that I wanted to use in a RS lesson and came upon this. Thank you so very much. It’s all pulling together in a most bittersweet manner. Our daughter loved to sing and I’m sure this expresses her feelings so well. She arrived home to her Father 13 1/2 years ago. We miss her deeply. She is forever a part of the BYUH alumni . Bravo and thank you. 🙌❤
Beautiful rendition. One can easily hear it’s coming from the heart! Thank you for sharing.
Love it. I hope these young men and women will be inspired by this song and their time together singing it for all their days!
Beautiful song, fantastic choir. I miss my days at BYUH!
So touching angelic voices !
I'm singing this song for my next concert! I'm so excited!! it is a beautiful song!!
In the quiet misty morning
When the moon has gone to bed,
When the sparrows stop their singing
And the sky is clear and red,
When the summer's ceased its gleaming
When the corn is past its prime,
When adventure's lost its meaning -
I'll be homeward bound in time
Bind me not to the pasture
Chain me not to the plow
Set me free to find my calling
And I'll return to you somehow
If you find it's me you're missing
If you're hoping I'll return,
To your thoughts I'll soon be listening,
And in the road I'll stop and turn
Then the wind will set me racing
As my journey nears its end
And the path I'll be retracing
When I'm homeward bound again
Bind me not to the pasture
Chain me not to the plow
Set me free to find my calling
And I'll return to you somehow
(softly)
In the quiet misty morning
When the moon has gone to bed,
When the sparrows stop their singing
I'll be homeward bound again.
Beautiful performance.

what's the author of the song? like is there a lyric video to it or anything
Sammy & Kay I believe the composer is Marta keen
#neverforget
what kind of instrument is the guy playing?
ChocolateToast it's actually a penny whistle
The comment said "Penny Whistle".
just 1 correction, a person is "at the piano" not on it!
What key is the penny whistle?
Debbi John
The choral arrangement is in the key of D
A standard tin whistle is set in the key of D. both F and C are sharps on the whistle
Amazing what they can do with special effects these days.. what is to come, oh what is to come ... Jn 3:16
A tad fast. Sounds like the guy is trying to rush out the door and is just trying to say some cheesy stuff so his girl isn't that sad
It's better than carmel middle
