Honestly! They could have saved a lot of trouble on the cream cheese layer by just making it with cream cheese and the sugar and mixing it with the whipping cream after you've whipped it. There was no need for that piddly amount of chocolate and GELATIN.
Also for the chocolate shell just cover the outside of the loaf pan with saran wrap, put it in the freezer for a bit, and pour the chocolate over the top of that. The steps with the ice were a waste.

Similar and actually easy. Put snickers ice cream in a chocolate pie crust from the supermarket and put brownies and whipped cream on top and then shave a chocolate oranger over it with a veggie peeler. I’m lazy. 😂

I'd avoid it. The more complex a recipe is, the more chances it can go terribly wrong at some point. Even experienced cooks would have trouble making this monstrosity right.

If you genuinely want something simple and fast to make for the holidays, try "noodly clusters." Over low heat, melt together a package of semi sweet chocolate chip pieces and a package of butterscotch pieces. Remove from heat and stir in one cup of unsalted peanuts. Mix in 1 cup of crispy chow mein noodles. Use a melon baller or spoon to drop spoonfuls onto a foil-covered, freezer-safe plate. Put the plate in the freezer for 10 minutes. You're done. Delicious candy.

Skip the metal in the freezer part and use a silicone mold for the chocolate condensed milk for the caramel or use a heath candy bars and just use whipped cream

No, it won't. It expands to the top. However, this is far from simple.
They typically only explode when in a fully closed container because it expands I don't know the exact science but I'm guessing having the top completely open gave it somewhere for the ice to go? I mean personally there's freaking metal I don't know why you wouldn't use it They even have silicone ones

Thank you for sharing this wonderful recipe. A great idea that I will definitely try out for a next special occasion. As for most of the comments here: everything is always easy when you want to do it and you have the ability and the recourses. And easy as in easy to do because it is (bc I have the ability, motivation and recourses) or simple as in I unwrap the processed dough from store and put it in oven and add some nuts.

Can you imagine what a bakery would charge to make this dessert? The cost would be astronomical not only because of all the ingredients but because of the myriad of tedious, time-consuming steps.
At an early stage I stopped trying to calculate the calories in a serving .... chocolate, more chocolate, butter, oil, cream cheese, a cake base, and I'm probably leaving something out. Thousands of calories in a single serving. 😮. It better be stunningly good to be worth it!
