YES...as a primarily solo player I was really excited about this potential but turns out they're literally not worth the time it takes to do them...I love the concept of hard solo challenge bosses but they have to have rewards that make them worth doing over other content in the game...
Very, very happy to hear that NWA isn't slowing down anytime soon. The seasonal server in particular sounds super fun for serious PvPers who want that oldschool feeling.
They keep making their combat system worse and worse. A PVP world is pointless unless they can make their combat work well again, and fix the various exploits.

AGS is full of bs but it's just easier to wait for an existing game's update that I can play right now than to wait for other Action-combat mmos that haven't come out yet. Elder Scrolls Online has a 24/7 PvP gamemode called "Cyrodiil". This is a open world faction based outpost/keep warfare PvP zone full of insane/fun PvP moments. I've shown this to hundreds of end game new world pvpers & everyone would love to have something similar to this. I highly advise you take a look at it for some insight. This game mode would be a MASSIVE success on New World 100%. This is what the end game PvPer's want more than a new OPR map/Races/Wars/3v3's.
Yes the greedy microtransactions are predatory. 20 dollars for season pass. That's double every other game. No in game mount drops, skin drops, etc. You've already charged us full triple A price TWICE now.
It can be an extremely low drop rate - I have done ICC on wow about 400 times with no mount drop but every time I get back into that game I will be runnin that raid weekly and its a what... 15 year old raid that I oneshot everything in - this is a great way to promtoe replayability
Can I PLEASE..PLEEEAAASSEE buy more gear set slots? There are more skills/roles than there are available gear slots. It sucks having to find my X gear, then store it, find a different set when needed, etc. It would be far more beneficial to be able to have more gear slots to keep it with us, and change to chef, Arcanist, miner etc on the fly instead of picking only so many sets to keep and filter to find each piece any time we need to search for them. You're missing out on a lot of money as well overall. Let us buy more slots please!
Big Time! I would instantly buy as many slots as you will let me. Nice that those slots apply to alt characters but please give us some common inventory slots to move stuff between alts.

NW:A...same thing. Do we need to make another endless list of all the bugs and exploits not fixed after a month? We'll play anyway, sure. But I'll not pretend like AGS is magically changed for good and the road map means something. Fool me once, it's on you. Fool me twice, it's on me. Fool me 3 years straight... You tell me.
I think they did a decent job delivering on the roadmap prior to them fully abandoning it for console support. I do hope quality can be improved though.

"content" lol) 2) Season Story (just 1 day of quests, but it was bug and not possible to complete for some people) 3) World events (same events as the last 3 years with the EXACT SAME BUGS and new ones) 4) New Expedition (Bug as hell, literally unplayable at launch after countless PTR reports)

How is this listening to players. Pvp is a dumpster fire right now. Pvp sever will be filled with 1 to 2 builds only. Do raid get elemental band own the server. They can't fix what we have now. Only to add more pvp content when the game is busted.

Very concerned with having all crafting buffs (gear, food, trophies) and can still only craft 700 gear score items and competing the raid is the only way to get 725 gear score via a craft, but not requiring the effort it takes to become max crafting.
I liked everything but the seasonal Servers.. This seems like a big miss.. 1. it will split the already small server pop. 2. MMOS are all about long term character growth and materials and gear and character progression.. I would never do a 3 month character.
This. SO much this. They are obviously super pumped about it, and it doesn't sound, at all, like they realize either a) how badly this can flop and b) how devastating this can potentially be if it doesn't. I played DDO for a long time. That game has a much bigger player base than NW and much better optimized server pops. A few years back, they started running seasonal permadeath servers that lasted like 3 months each. If you lived long enough and completed enough high difficulty content, you could achieve different tiers of rewards that were entirely cosmetic, but also cool and desirable for your main characters on your normal server. It was really challenging and stressful at times, but also extremely fun and rewarding. You can say that it was popular and successful, so they started doing them like twice a year. Here are the two giant problems that created: 1) For half the year you weren't even playing your actual characters, or progressing them in any meaningful way 2) More importantly, they split the player base. Normal servers were a total ghost town for half the year. If you wanted to play your normal characters, half or more of your guild were gone. They might as well be playing another game. It was difficult to find groups, etc. Having experienced this in a game with superior player numbers, I am confident that it will be an absolute disaster for NW, which already struggles with numbers, as is. I hope someone from AGS reads my lengthy comment here, and takes the following lessons to heart if they are hell-bent on having "seasonal servers" that are successful and don't kill the game: 1) If I'm going to be interested in playing a temporary character instead of spending that time on my permanent character, there needs to be compelling rewards for my permanent character involved, but they need to be cosmetic or something that does not give me any tangible advantages over other players. Something like a really cool, unique mount skin, or housing item. Maybe +1 gear loadout slot. 2) Please understand, and carefully consider, what this is going to do to normal server pops and limit their duration accordingly. Honestly, based on my experience, I would recommend no more than 2 months of this per year. If you run these "seasonal servers" for the duration of an entire season, then first of all, what is the point of normal seasons? I can't progress them if I'm spending the whole season playing a temporary character. More importantly, though, if you run these temp servers for the duration of an entire season, I can absolutely guarantee you that one of two things will happen: 1) nobody will play them (hopefully) or 2) you will turn normal servers into ghost towns and literally kill your own game. The folks who would rather spend their time playing their permanent character, that they have invested thousands of hours in, and who don't care about a new mount skin or whatever rewards are offered for participating in a temporary game experience, won't have anyone to play with, won't engage with their friends who are participating for months at a time, companies will disintegrate, wars and raids will be impossible to fill, etc. It's a poor experience, and they will quit. PLEASE consider the ramifications of what you're doing. I'm not just complaining, speculating, or being pessimistic, because, again, I have actually seen the effects of what you're trying with a game that has (had) way more players, and I KNOW what the results will be. The idea you laid out for a "seasonal server" as soon as Season 7 sounds like a very cool concept (permadeath is a cool concept to consider, too, for future iterations), but you HAVE to limit the duration of these or you will destroy the game.
Please listen to this comment. New World is a great game for those of us who want to scratch that achievement itch. I would never play a character that will be deleted. The whole game is built around progressing your toon for the long haul.
Idk it works on other mmo, and it's so they can try some things to maybe put them ingame. Pvpers want real agressive pvp. I think that the best solution. I don't think they'll stay all day long there but have a good time for some hours a day and go back to their main as it disappear each season anyway. At least if they break something it will be on their server only.

I'm sure people will pay real money for it. For new weapons, we need a new main healing weapon, none since launch. Also hoping for a Lightning Fist equal split between Str and Int.
I too am little concerned that my OG face is now more in line with a different character model since the update. A barber shop would have resolved that issue. (I do not concur with global storage at this time ;) ♥ ♪
One thing I would love to see is more options for healers. I love the flail but it would be awesome to have more flexibility and variety with healing builds.
You guys need to make actually impactful untradable/character based rewards from leveling up crafting/gathering skills. Cooking having really good untradeable food is a step in the right direction. Give arcana lvl 200 potions that give huge benefits but can only be crafted for yourself, smithing honing stones that give huge bonus damage but are untradeable. Borrow from RuneScape’s endgame progression.really hard quests that give you like a 5th potion slot or a 2nd ring slot. And ABILITY UPGRADES. Make bosses or content drop rate “codex” that upgrades the functionality of skill tree abilities. “Awakened Finish” -bleed damage removed now does extra 25% total damage as arcane. Chase items that change your entire character
Definitely the best MMO I ever played, that did something different from the other MMO's The launch was terrible we all know, but now the game is close to perfection.

Or at least allow us to level up the gear we got in dungeon to 725. Not being able to get frigid dawn past 700 feels bad with how much of a grind it is.
I've been playing forever. Would love to see an expanded FISHING menu and mechanics. Please give us "personal bests" and the ability to see height/weight after the catch to compete against friends and compete against myself. We really enjoy fishing in this game and would really love to just see more of it. Thanks for continuing to improve on this great game!
New weapons are needed specifically for the focus tree cuz three weapons is just criminal compared to the other attributes. Maybe add an arcane wand or something that can be used with a focus or totem instead of a shield. But I love this game and will continue to support yall by buying items from the store as long as you continue to keep the love going for this game. 100% worth it in my opinion so keep the shop items coming as well. If anyone wants to be upset by this opinion just remember they do not charge a subscription so supporting them via the shop helps "keep the lights on" so to speak.
Been super critical of new world over the years.. never seen a single relevant or positive dev video since you started this series. I have to say, this is the best video we've ever gotten. The two dudes on the left, the beautiful bald man, and the guy in the red shirt, really play the game and understand the vision that needs to be brought together. If AGS succeeds in delivering everything on this roadmap over the next year while fixing the existing bugs and not adding new ones then NW is 200% back on the menu man. Lot of cope, let's see what the devs will give us now, and how fast it will be.
Suggestion: for opr maps, can we think about biomes and random weather effects on maps. biomes have different feels, islandy , spooky , heavenly, the presence of the biome or sub biomes impact. The impact aesthetically and the feeling of fighting with a waterfall background, giant mushrooms, floating mini mountains or other fantasy like areas instead of plain trees and rocks would be wonderful. Also i dont know if it would be plausible to have the base map(old or new map) and have it generated in a night instance/day instance, rain/lightning/thunder, fog, sandstorm, snow , corrupted, nature overgrown, etc. Food for thought
Feel like they are really listening to the community here. If they can deliver on this it will be great. Sound like a lot of good changes, including some of my biggest issues with the game. To not set timelines are a good idea, if you are not sure you will reach them. I feel that its more important to know whats coming, than when its coming. Lets us know what to look forward to. As long as they update the roadmap this is fine in my opinion.
I have an idea, there is a massive amount of loot that is just ground down. How about an NPC in the main hall of cities that will take your unwanted loot, in exchange for a currency & rep that in turn can be used to attain things (similar to faction or maybe the same npc but different categories), and what they give in exchange for the loot is dependent on the gear score / item type. Perhaps the same vendor that takes your loot has random daily/weekly items for sale that you'd want to buy with the currency/rep that you've gained, maybe a way to buy artifacts that are not farmed anymore, chrom seals, materials, named gear, food, fish bait, decorations etc etc. This gives ppl incentive to play for loot in dungeons or ECR. Make it NOT GOLD related, as in you need the JUST the curreny and NOT gold to buy, (which is terrible design and just promotes the exploitation of gold buying to win that kills the incentive to play). This could also play into closing corruption portals, give the big ones (lvl 65 up) a drop item that the NPC wants badly and after like 20 or more will give you a seal for it or a matrix or whatever but limited to daily or weekly withdraw. I think this would drive MASSIVE player interaction in the world / dungeons if done correctly and rewarded properly. Please think about this one.

Basically, have a system setup that pays out faction tokens, currency, rare resources, etc. when a player delivers a tradepack from one capital to another. Tradepack payouts would based on player population in a zone, delivering a pack from Brimstone to reekwater would pay a ton because reekwater is a dead zone. You have to do it flagged for pvp. If you get ganked, you drop faction tokens, currency or whatever. Idk. Might work
Great features on the road! As a side request, I would like to have an option (if not as default) for the Life Staff so that when I press the key for let's say Sacred Ground, to cast the spell on that specific target location, not where I have already moved the camera after the key press. The same problem is with Divine Embrace but not for Beacon which is casting on that exactly spot where you had the camera when called it. Doesn't matter if Divine and Embrace are casting a bit slower, important is that they will be casted where you have requested to be.
Well presented and great plans. I think the seasonal server will be the best way to 'low-risk' test the ideas that some of the devs are more passionate about (and the first one sounds like a fun kinda hell). The ball has been dropped on some of the crafting/gathering in the latest. I think the higher end dungeons could be primarily used to get rare mats, but then you need to craft (with an element of luck). Perhaps an idea for a later season. Thanks for the hard work.
Why would you make a seasonal server to split an already dwindling game population where on some servers there is already an issue with getting enough people for activities?
Seasonal servers are meant to attract new players or returning players that don't want to come back to their existing character. I don't think a seasonal server will impact too much from the existing classic or fresh-start servers.
You answered your own question. The new server allows all pvp players to que in one place so the team can finally see if people really want pvp alpha version. Every pvp player acts like they would play total loot pvp but none of them actually play. Now they will have a server and statics to say hey let's not care what pvp players complain about our hey we have a base here let's dedicate a team to growing then
Jumped into the game for the first time on PS5 with the Aeternum launch. Having more fun with this game than I have with an MMO since the early days of Destiny. Y'all are doing great work, and I'm excited to stick around for the longhaul!

I moved from WoW to New World on release and never looked back 😊 The devs have really listened to the community on many points, and the game has gone from strength to strength with the latest improvements. The clear roadmap for development is keeping the community engaged and excited for the future (So many games are left to die 😐) For me, there is only two things I would currently like to see: 1. Remove house upkeep costs - It really serves no purpose and is only a pain in the ass. 2. Remove the character pronoun section, or have it as optional - It's great to have options - but it's not great to have to be forced to choose something that I don't personally want to declare. It is great to have respect for people that want to declare it - but please have respect for those that don't want to declare it. At the end of the day - it's a video game...
A few things: 1. Although the hive raid is great, locking 725 behind it to once a week has been painful and feels especially grindy. Replaying the hive can still be fun for fun-sake, but having no drops or rewards to replay it for the duration of the rest of the week feels bad. It's refreshing to see mutations will receive an "upgrade", but this upgrade should include a chance to gain 700+ gear. 2. A new OPR MAP is very much needed, but I hope the new map features other environmental assets from other parts of NWA, say a village or town for better close-quarter combat, or a dense elysian-wild style forest, or megalithic structures on sand dunes. Each new environmental feature should highlight an advantage or disadvantage for certain weapons or playstyles/roles. 3. Other game modes like battle royal or capture the flag would be great, but I feel like instead of making those instanced, maybe people can sign queue up and be teleported to a random zone in the open world and start the game mode there. The open world is under appreciated and I feel having a game mode to have a reason to run around the world again will be great. PVP races are great, but for real you're only around the fort and the other capture points, not so much other the other POIs. 4. Invasion update actually sounds exciting. With close to 7000 hours of playtime, the last time I did an invasion was maybe around maybe when my playtime was at 4500, and before that was maybe 2200. Definitely not my favorite activity but if there's a refresh to the mode to introduce new mob type, mutated invasion, updated loot drops to include chance for 700+ gear, and just something to not only give me a reason to play but excited to play it. Overall, great dev update and I'm excited to see where NWA goes next!

Thank you for this, what a good roadmap! This makes me excited about playing New World. My favs are, new opr map, new pvp game modes (capture the flag & battle royale, omg yes), pickup wars (wars are very sweaty & exclusive, thank you for making it accessible, hopefully this will be cross-server), global storage, barbershop, and yes people love invasions but it has become stale since it hasn't changed so spicing it up with new npc's & difficulties will help. Good stuff AGS. Now I have a request, please add an auto-loot system via pets. You can monetize the pets, and let pets auto loot for us. Like please I absolutely hate hunting for loot bags under big corpses or when I'm busy pvping. It's win/win for you and the players, ty.
As someone who has played MMOS for over 15 years and recently switched to New World, the one thing I really miss is a damage/healing meter. Being able to more clearly measure your performance and see how your character's power develops gives such a rewarding sense of progression. Other than that I would just like to say, awsome update, keep up the great work and thank you for delivering a great game!
The first thing being talked about in depth is Pvp, on most of the slides. The Pvp in this game is based on how well you know to exploit bugs and use macro scripts. Moreover, it devides the community even more. Next, they say they are all in on end game but then want us to continually restart on new characters every season just because they think early, mid game is perfect and dont want us to see the far from perfect endgame as mentioned. Give us PVE and things to come together as a community, not divide us...
It still feels like a very small team of Devs are keeping this game a float. All the PvP content on the map they've already said was in development 18 months ago.
Console had cross world on by default. PC has a major advantage with movement and time in game. Please let us change worlds. Top 15 in OPR is always PC players. I don’t want to play with PC. (Sorry PC but you know there’s a gap there too)

WOW that's the best dev update of new world since the first launch years ago. supposed modifications. Unifying the mutation element every week while adding really useful rewards to M3s is a great decision. What is currently missing is rewards that are difficult to obtain (example at 0.5% and lower rates). in M3 and Raid. Cosmetic reward or crafting recipe. This is what was added to the Gorgon Raid and it's great. We need to add objects that are very difficult to obtain to add challenge. Congratulations to the team for these proposals, all we have to do is get started!
This is exactly what the player base needed. We have been asking for a roadmap, and you delivered. This looks amazing, all the work and detail put into this is really inspiring. I started playing right after it first launched and had a rough time. I spent ALOT of time loading into the game. Now, it loads fast and I can start playing. Ease of access is great and you guys delivered. So far I have been enjoying the changes to leveling and gearing so that we can level fast and not have to worry about gearing as much. Elder Scrolls Online has a 24/7 PvP gamemode called "Cyrodiil". This is a open world faction based outpost/keep warfare PvP zone full of insane/fun PvP moments. I've shown this to hundreds of end game new world pvpers & everyone would love to have something similar to this. I highly advise you take a look at it for some insight. This game mode would be a MASSIVE success on New World 100%. This is what the end game PvPer's want more than a new OPR map/Races/Wars/3v3's.

It can be an extremely low drop rate - I have done ICC on wow about 400 times with no mount drop but every time I get back into that game I will be runnin that raid weekly and its a what... 15 year old raid that I oneshot everything in - this is a great way to promtoe replayability

Can I PLEASE..PLEEEAAASSEE buy more gear set slots? There are more skills/roles than there are available gear slots. It sucks having to find my X gear, then store it, find a different set when needed, etc. It would be far more beneficial to be able to have more gear slots to keep it with us, and change to chef, Arcanist, miner etc on the fly instead of picking only so many sets to keep and filter to find each piece any time we need to search for them. You're missing out on a lot of money as well overall. Let us buy more slots please!

- We got 4 of 10:
1) One was the battlepass (Ok.... "content" lol)
2) Season Story (just 1 day of quests, but it was bug and not possible to complete for some people)
3) World events (same events as the last 3 years with the EXACT SAME BUGS and new ones)
4) New Expedition (Bug as hell, literally unplayable at launch after countless PTR reports)

How is this listening to players. Pvp is a dumpster fire right now. Pvp sever will be filled with 1 to 2 builds only. Do raid get elemental band own the server. They can't fix what we have now. Only to add more pvp content when the game is busted.

Very concerned with having all crafting buffs (gear, food, trophies) and can still only craft 700 gear score items and competing the raid is the only way to get 725 gear score via a craft, but not requiring the effort it takes to become max crafting.

I liked everything but the seasonal Servers.. This seems like a big miss.. 1. it will split the already small server pop. 2. MMOS are all about long term character growth and materials and gear and character progression.. I would never do a 3 month character.
Same. Especially if it's an all on pvp mode. I'm sure there are people who are interested in it but I won't be joining that one.
This. SO much this. They are obviously super pumped about it, and it doesn't sound, at all, like they realize either a) how badly this can flop and b) how devastating this can potentially be if it doesn't. I played DDO for a long time. That game has a much bigger player base than NW and much better optimized server pops. A few years back, they started running seasonal permadeath servers that lasted like 3 months each. If you lived long enough and completed enough high difficulty content, you could achieve different tiers of rewards that were entirely cosmetic, but also cool and desirable for your main characters on your normal server. It was really challenging and stressful at times, but also extremely fun and rewarding. You can say that it was popular and successful, so they started doing them like twice a year. Here are the two giant problems that created:
1) For half the year you weren't even playing your actual characters, or progressing them in any meaningful way
2) More importantly, they split the player base. Normal servers were a total ghost town for half the year. If you wanted to play your normal characters, half or more of your guild were gone. They might as well be playing another game. It was difficult to find groups, etc.
Having experienced this in a game with superior player numbers, I am confident that it will be an absolute disaster for NW, which already struggles with numbers, as is.
I hope someone from AGS reads my lengthy comment here, and takes the following lessons to heart if they are hell-bent on having "seasonal servers" that are successful and don't kill the game:
1) If I'm going to be interested in playing a temporary character instead of spending that time on my permanent character, there needs to be compelling rewards for my permanent character involved, but they need to be cosmetic or something that does not give me any tangible advantages over other players. Something like a really cool, unique mount skin, or housing item. Maybe +1 gear loadout slot.
2) Please understand, and carefully consider, what this is going to do to normal server pops and limit their duration accordingly. Honestly, based on my experience, I would recommend no more than 2 months of this per year. If you run these "seasonal servers" for the duration of an entire season, then first of all, what is the point of normal seasons? I can't progress them if I'm spending the whole season playing a temporary character. More importantly, though, if you run these temp servers for the duration of an entire season, I can absolutely guarantee you that one of two things will happen: 1) nobody will play them (hopefully) or 2) you will turn normal servers into ghost towns and literally kill your own game. The folks who would rather spend their time playing their permanent character, that they have invested thousands of hours in, and who don't care about a new mount skin or whatever rewards are offered for participating in a temporary game experience, won't have anyone to play with, won't engage with their friends who are participating for months at a time, companies will disintegrate, wars and raids will be impossible to fill, etc. It's a poor experience, and they will quit.
PLEASE consider the ramifications of what you're doing. I'm not just complaining, speculating, or being pessimistic, because, again, I have actually seen the effects of what you're trying with a game that has (had) way more players, and I KNOW what the results will be.
The idea you laid out for a "seasonal server" as soon as Season 7 sounds like a very cool concept (permadeath is a cool concept to consider, too, for future iterations), but you HAVE to limit the duration of these or you will destroy the game.
Please listen to this comment. New World is a great game for those of us who want to scratch that achievement itch. I would never play a character that will be deleted. The whole game is built around progressing your toon for the long haul.
Idk it works on other mmo, and it's so they can try some things to maybe put them ingame. Pvpers want real agressive pvp. I think that the best solution. I don't think they'll stay all day long there but have a good time for some hours a day and go back to their main as it disappear each season anyway. At least if they break something it will be on their server only.

I'm exited about the Global Storage and Barbershop and Cross Character progression. PvP'rs I'm sure they will be happy with more maps.
You guys need to make actually impactful untradable/character based rewards from leveling up crafting/gathering skills. Cooking having really good untradeable food is a step in the right direction. Give arcana lvl 200 potions that give huge benefits but can only be crafted for yourself, smithing honing stones that give huge bonus damage but are untradeable. Borrow from RuneScape’s endgame progression.really hard quests that give you like a 5th potion slot or a 2nd ring slot. And ABILITY UPGRADES. Make bosses or content drop rate “codex” that upgrades the functionality of skill tree abilities. “Awakened Finish” -bleed damage removed now does extra 25% total damage as arcane. Chase items that change your entire character

New weapons are needed specifically for the focus tree cuz three weapons is just criminal compared to the other attributes. Maybe add an arcane wand or something that can be used with a focus or totem instead of a shield. But I love this game and will continue to support yall by buying items from the store as long as you continue to keep the love going for this game. 100% worth it in my opinion so keep the shop items coming as well. If anyone wants to be upset by this opinion just remember they do not charge a subscription so supporting them via the shop helps "keep the lights on" so to speak.

Been super critical of new world over the years.. never seen a single relevant or positive dev video since you started this series. I have to say, this is the best video we've ever gotten. The two dudes on the left, the beautiful bald man, and the guy in the red shirt, really play the game and understand the vision that needs to be brought together. If AGS succeeds in delivering everything on this roadmap over the next year while fixing the existing bugs and not adding new ones then NW is 200% back on the menu man. Lot of cope, let's see what the devs will give us now, and how fast it will be.
Suggestion: for opr maps, can we think about biomes and random weather effects on maps. biomes have different feels, islandy , spooky , heavenly, the presence of the biome or sub biomes impact. The impact aesthetically and the feeling of fighting with a waterfall background, giant mushrooms, floating mini mountains or other fantasy like areas instead of plain trees and rocks would be wonderful. Also i dont know if it would be plausible to have the base map(old or new map) and have it generated in a night instance/day instance, rain/lightning/thunder, fog, sandstorm, snow , corrupted, nature overgrown, etc. Food for thought
Feel like they are really listening to the community here. If they can deliver on this it will be great. Sound like a lot of good changes, including some of my biggest issues with the game.
To not set timelines are a good idea, if you are not sure you will reach them. I feel that its more important to know whats coming, than when its coming. Lets us know what to look forward to. As long as they update the roadmap this is fine in my opinion.
I have an idea, there is a massive amount of loot that is just ground down. How about an NPC in the main hall of cities that will take your unwanted loot, in exchange for a currency & rep that in turn can be used to attain things (similar to faction or maybe the same npc but different categories), and what they give in exchange for the loot is dependent on the gear score / item type. Perhaps the same vendor that takes your loot has random daily/weekly items for sale that you'd want to buy with the currency/rep that you've gained, maybe a way to buy artifacts that are not farmed anymore, chrom seals, materials, named gear, food, fish bait, decorations etc etc. This gives ppl incentive to play for loot in dungeons or ECR. Make it NOT GOLD related, as in you need the JUST the curreny and NOT gold to buy, (which is terrible design and just promotes the exploitation of gold buying to win that kills the incentive to play). This could also play into closing corruption portals, give the big ones (lvl 65 up) a drop item that the NPC wants badly and after like 20 or more will give you a seal for it or a matrix or whatever but limited to daily or weekly withdraw. I think this would drive MASSIVE player interaction in the world / dungeons if done correctly and rewarded properly. Please think about this one.

Basically, have a system setup that pays out faction tokens, currency, rare resources, etc. when a player delivers a tradepack from one capital to another. Tradepack payouts would based on player population in a zone, delivering a pack from Brimstone to reekwater would pay a ton because reekwater is a dead zone. You have to do it flagged for pvp. If you get ganked, you drop faction tokens, currency or whatever. Idk. Might work

Great features on the road! As a side request, I would like to have an option (if not as default) for the Life Staff so that when I press the key for let's say Sacred Ground, to cast the spell on that specific target location, not where I have already moved the camera after the key press. The same problem is with Divine Embrace but not for Beacon which is casting on that exactly spot where you had the camera when called it. Doesn't matter if Divine and Embrace are casting a bit slower, important is that they will be casted where you have requested to be.
Guess fresh start servers didn't divide the playerbase enough, lets add seasonal worlds instead of addressing current game issues.
Well presented and great plans. I think the seasonal server will be the best way to 'low-risk' test the ideas that some of the devs are more passionate about (and the first one sounds like a fun kinda hell). The ball has been dropped on some of the crafting/gathering in the latest. I think the higher end dungeons could be primarily used to get rare mats, but then you need to craft (with an element of luck). Perhaps an idea for a later season. Thanks for the hard work.

Seasonal servers are meant to attract new players or returning players that don't want to come back to their existing character. I don't think a seasonal server will impact too much from the existing classic or fresh-start servers.
You answered your own question. The new server allows all pvp players to que in one place so the team can finally see if people really want pvp alpha version. Every pvp player acts like they would play total loot pvp but none of them actually play. Now they will have a server and statics to say hey let's not care what pvp players complain about our hey we have a base here let's dedicate a team to growing then

Jumped into the game for the first time on PS5 with the Aeternum launch. Having more fun with this game than I have with an MMO since the early days of Destiny. Y'all are doing great work, and I'm excited to stick around for the longhaul!

just remove target lock in pvp it's obviously not good for pvp. work on proper aim assist for controller players.
Aim assist is very difficult to implement in such a game where different abilities are aimed differently etc. I don't see aim lock going anywhere
Controllers don't need aim assist. They need to be discouraged from owning consoles entirely

OMG I’m so happy that you’ve developed Barbershop; I’ve always dreamed of becoming a barber. It’s truly amazing, and I’m eagerly looking forward to it!
I moved from WoW to New World on release and never looked back 😊 The devs have really listened to the community on many points, and the game has gone from strength to strength with the latest improvements. The clear roadmap for development is keeping the community engaged and excited for the future (So many games are left to die 😐)
For me, there is only two things I would currently like to see:
1. Remove house upkeep costs - It really serves no purpose and is only a pain in the ass.
2. Remove the character pronoun section, or have it as optional - It's great to have options - but it's not great to have to be forced to choose something that I don't personally want to declare. It is great to have respect for people that want to declare it - but please have respect for those that don't want to declare it. At the end of the day - it's a video game...
A few things:
1. Although the hive raid is great, locking 725 behind it to once a week has been painful and feels especially grindy. Replaying the hive can still be fun for fun-sake, but having no drops or rewards to replay it for the duration of the rest of the week feels bad. It's refreshing to see mutations will receive an "upgrade", but this upgrade should include a chance to gain 700+ gear.
2. A new OPR MAP is very much needed, but I hope the new map features other environmental assets from other parts of NWA, say a village or town for better close-quarter combat, or a dense elysian-wild style forest, or megalithic structures on sand dunes. Each new environmental feature should highlight an advantage or disadvantage for certain weapons or playstyles/roles.
3. Other game modes like battle royal or capture the flag would be great, but I feel like instead of making those instanced, maybe people can sign queue up and be teleported to a random zone in the open world and start the game mode there. The open world is under appreciated and I feel having a game mode to have a reason to run around the world again will be great. PVP races are great, but for real you're only around the fort and the other capture points, not so much other the other POIs.
4. Invasion update actually sounds exciting. With close to 7000 hours of playtime, the last time I did an invasion was maybe around maybe when my playtime was at 4500, and before that was maybe 2200. Definitely not my favorite activity but if there's a refresh to the mode to introduce new mob type, mutated invasion, updated loot drops to include chance for 700+ gear, and just something to not only give me a reason to play but excited to play it.
Overall, great dev update and I'm excited to see where NWA goes next!

it's almost like they were listening THE WHOLE TIME, but also had a bunch of stuff they had to do first before they could address what the community wanted.... craaaaaaaaaaazy!
15:45 I would say that's been the number one ask of all the high level players as well, for several reasons. Many of which related to helping newer or less experienced players, so they have more opportunities to learn and grow/practice. Keep up the great work team! ♥♪
W Roadmap
Thank you for this, what a good roadmap! This makes me excited about playing New World. My favs are, new opr map, new pvp game modes (capture the flag & battle royale, omg yes), pickup wars (wars are very sweaty & exclusive, thank you for making it accessible, hopefully this will be cross-server), global storage, barbershop, and yes people love invasions but it has become stale since it hasn't changed so spicing it up with new npc's & difficulties will help. Good stuff AGS. Now I have a request, please add an auto-loot system via pets. You can monetize the pets, and let pets auto loot for us. Like please I absolutely hate hunting for loot bags under big corpses or when I'm busy pvping. It's win/win for you and the players, ty.
Best update release so far. Also the raid is a 10/10 experience.
As someone who has played MMOS for over 15 years and recently switched to New World, the one thing I really miss is a damage/healing meter. Being able to more clearly measure your performance and see how your character's power develops gives such a rewarding sense of progression. Other than that I would just like to say, awsome update, keep up the great work and thank you for delivering a great game!
The first thing being talked about in depth is Pvp, on most of the slides. The Pvp in this game is based on how well you know to exploit bugs and use macro scripts. Moreover, it devides the community even more. Next, they say they are all in on end game but then want us to continually restart on new characters every season just because they think early, mid game is perfect and dont want us to see the far from perfect endgame as mentioned. Give us PVE and things to come together as a community, not divide us...
It still feels like a very small team of Devs are keeping this game a float. All the PvP content on the map they've already said was in development 18 months ago.

Console had cross world on by default. PC has a major advantage with movement and time in game. Please let us change worlds. Top 15 in OPR is always PC players. I don’t want to play with PC. (Sorry PC but you know there’s a gap there too)

So their first idea is to split the already shrinking player base with PvP enabled seasonal servers? Makes sense.
Feel the same way would rather they just expanded the game like we all expected at OG launch. Sounds like they're gonna make this game into Rust with extra steps
This game will be dead by the end of the year again.

WOW that's the best dev update of new world since the first launch years ago. supposed modifications. Unifying the mutation element every week while adding really useful rewards to M3s is a great decision. What is currently missing is rewards that are difficult to obtain (example at 0.5% and lower rates). in M3 and Raid. Cosmetic reward or crafting recipe. This is what was added to the Gorgon Raid and it's great. We need to add objects that are very difficult to obtain to add challenge. Congratulations to the team for these proposals, all we have to do is get started!

This is exactly what the player base needed. We have been asking for a roadmap, and you delivered. This looks amazing, all the work and detail put into this is really inspiring. I am beyond excited for the future of NWA and the changes that come with it!

I started playing right after it first launched and had a rough time. I spent ALOT of time loading into the game. Now, it loads fast and I can start playing. Ease of access is great and you guys delivered. So far I have been enjoying the changes to leveling and gearing so that we can level fast and not have to worry about gearing as much. Keep up the good work, guys! Happy Holidays!!
