Nice TZ Andy. I built an Rz/Banshee 350 hybrid a few years ago with the hope of racimg it , but couldn't get any replies or interest from the vintage/classic crew to answer questions or help, so sold it. Sticking to tracking my SV 650 these days.
Rodney, I too was building a RZ banshee hybrid in a TZ L model chassis. I put RGV suspension in it. I loved it, but it wasn’t eligible for period racing. That’s when I decided for the TZs. The SV sounds fun mate . Great bikes
Great information and explanations on 2-stroke mysteries. (PS: Keep those ear plugs on when around the TZ start-ups! From one who knows about the 'ring-a-ding' ears sometimes.
❤Really great to see the presentation and preparations. Its always good to have a set of plugs to warm up before a race and a set set of plugs to run as race plugs that burning clean for the race. Do you index the plugs to the intake side of the carburetors? Great dedication to your motorbikes.
Thank you feed back Alan. Having a set of plugs for warm is what we normally do. I race with 9s in it but for the warm up we put 8s in. Save the good plugs for racing. That is another great tip I will add in to the next video if you don’t mind? We haven’t indexed the plugs to carby as you have mentioned. I will speak to my old man about it 👍
Yes at a race meet I do normally take my spares so this doesn’t happen. I thought the clutch was going to be ok to get some laps in but it needed new plates 👍
Cheers for the feedback mate. Yes the carbies have powerjets. I have never tried velocity stacks on the TZ. There would definitely be a benefit from them. The MotoCarb carbies are fitted with a thing called a UFO. It is a little blank off part that sits at the bottom of the carby so the airflow is more direct into the intakes and doesn’t have as much turbulence in the carbies
Love those bikes. Loved the clutch tech section too.👍
Cheers for the feedback Harry👍
Awesome video!! Very informative, twas cool to learn a bit more about 2 strokes ✊🏻
Cheers Tara your latest vid is a good one too. Keen to see you on that 125 again though✊🏍️💨

@@AndyPitman-vt7hm yep, I put Zzr250 suspension and wheels on mine so had a better range of rubber and brakes.

Al
Beautiful bike
Cheers Brendon🍻
@@AndyPitman-vt7hm can you still get parts for these old tzs or is there aftermarket manufacturers for them
@@brendendyson8470 yes parts are still available. A lot comes from the UK. Yamaha still stock some engine parts also.
Are you building one?
You could do with having a spare clutch with you, already prepped to swap trackside

Awesome video on the TZ350 - you have the power jets, how come you aren't using velocity stacks?
