like a musician should? he started with making punk music right? I have never seen a review for a metal album where they praised the band for playing the instruments
@@pikkis-95you’re talking like you expect it. With BEAT producing its sampling OTHER instruments that you don’t necessarily play. Ruby used to be in a band. People are saying it’s cool for ruby to be a one man band. Witchyo oKaY bUd. Ur sad lmao
Ruby never rapped a day in his life until him and scrim got together to make music. Ruby had his own punk rock band back in the day called “vapo rats” and the punk scene wasn’t getting him anywhere so he started rapping with his scrim In 2012. I freaking love this project it fits ruby perfectly and he takes us back to his OG roots. the 2000s punk vibes are immaculate.
@@yungtulip1731 not when he was a teenager 💀 he was in vapo rats as a teenager. So no he never wanted to rap that’s why he switched genres 😂 you obv never watched the no jumper interview. Not to mention ruby talks and has talked about it a lot.
This was ruby post on insta and Twitter about this project: “this is a project i started a few years ago, before i went to rehab. i wanted to wait until everything was absolutely perfect before i shared it with the world. i dusted off my instruments and wrote these songs about heartache. the other tracks are voicemails i collected during a dark chapter of my life when i was trying to run away from myself that i mixed with the beats i would make whenever i was trying to turn over a new leaf.”
i believe the other band/people were only a sort of backup source. he produced and played all of this, but i think they were kindof his "hey what do you think of this, what should i change" guys. dont quote me on that but all credits are for Ruby, so they couldnt have been super heavily involved. either way this is a masterpiece
the lyrics about "Dig me up and out the ground And wipe off all of the fucking dirt" is a callback to this line from Leave your things behind from 2015 "Dig me up and out the ground [...] Wipe the dirt off of my face in reverse, fuck disgrace" (asking to get buried) I think its so heart-warming to hear him now say the opposite of what he said when they were in a really bad spot
youre right, but in Yin-Yang he referred to himself as "Ruby Rougarou". it may be a new nickname, or it may just be wordplay for him being like a vicious animal
@@gel6677 I'm definately am mistaken. I did a little digging and ended up finding on Genius seeing that Ruby Rougarou is a nickname and the earliest usage of it on was the Track 'We Envy Nothing In The World' track 5 on 'Long Term Effects Of Suffering'
So Ruby was in a punk rock band before $uicideBoys. That didn’t work out so he joined Scrim to form $uicideBoys. The voice mails are from a time he was extremely depressed and overall in a bad place. This album was made before he went into rehab a couple years back.
The final track is almost a redux of an old iconic Ruby solo track named Broken Krystal Ball, made after he went through a very messy breakup with a woman named Krystal
I realized instantly when I heard the first line, it's so cool he remembers his old stuff and shows that he has improved from that point, actually I mostly see new song as a complete opposite of broken krystal ball
I dropped tears for Ruby knowing he deal way better with the past and he is more mentally healthy and ready. You know, he get some hints with Leave your things behind, and the confidence with the verse about his grave and how you can take his place there, because he don’t need it anymore. You have to think guys, this album was written before him to go to rehab. These low key songs are just a way to make peace with the past. You guys have to follow them on this healing process and heal yourself too
hey tom, the last song references a lot of his old relationship and his old song talking about krystal his ex girlfriend. the song is called broken krystal ball. i think that this album references krystal a lot, and with "where y'at duckboy?" (the first one) im pretty sure that that was krystal's voicemails or other girls not very sure but they do sound the same.

Dawg he had like 3 albums of hiphop/rap before $b

I mean he stays screaming and singing in some normal SB songs

I love how much Tom genuinely loves the boy$. Like he can’t help but make at least one reaction to them a week.
Ruby did most of this album by himself! He played all the instruments I believe. He did have someone help him from another band I forget who

You should also do the Scrim solo album A Man Rose From the Dead.
Please!! Love that solo!!

Fuck yea
The first part of the song “for further reasoning I’m going to bed” is a self reference to an old Ruby song called “broken krystal ball”.
I may be mistaken but I don't think Ruby gets referred to as Rougarou. But I learned that Rougarou is like Louisiana's/ Cajun version of the Werewolf.

I figured Krystal was referring to drugs
@@wyattmarsh4187nope Krystal was his gf if 5 years and I’m pretty sure she cheated on him which obviously fucked him up for years and years
I’m glad someone else has noticed that it’s so good. Broken Krystal ball is one of the most raw emotional songs of all time
