I used to live southwest of Eugene on Sarvis Berry Lane off Lorane Hwy. We had bobcats, bears and cougars out there, in addition to the cast of characters seen in your video. What a delight to see all of them! I miss living out there so much!
I live in Eugene. I'm just on Chambers and Lorane Hwy. I grew up out on McBeth Rd and got to see all of this wildlife everyday! Thank you for reminding me that it is still out there, I'm just not looking!
Thank you so much, you’ve got yourself another subscriber! I moved to Eugene a few months ago and am just north of Delta Ponds. I love knowing the diversity of wildlife here, and the respect that most humans seem to have for it.
As a fellow country side Junction City/ Eugenian I am surprised to see that a bear would come to Eugene! Heck my mom saw a cyote one time when she was taking out the trash one night while she was pregnant😂
I was going to my car after visiting my parents in Florence, OR. I saw a black bear crossing the road at the end of the road my parents lived on. I also saw a Bald Eagle fly into the stand of trees in this same area. I thought it was so incredible to see.
@ Oregon has some of the best wildlife in the country dare I say world. You just have to be at the right place at the right time, and you clearly were. Truly incredible.
I just found your video. I too live in Eugene. I live in the Southeast area off Amazon Parkway. It was 2 years ago on November 13, 2022, that at about 9:30 a.m. I heard my front doorknob being messed with. I stopped what I was doing and sat and listened. Then I heard scratching on the door. I knew it had to be a wild animal as I don't have any pets. It was a sunny Sunday morning. My door has a decorative window up high in it. Then the sun was blocked from shinning in the window. I was somewhat scared at that point. I figured it had to be a bear. It was a couple of days before I felt comfortable to open my door. I measured as to how tall it would have been when standing to block the window. It would have had to be just over 6 feet when standing. I called the local Fish and Game. They gave me a phone number to call and to ask to get a call back from a Wildlife Biologist. I spoke with the Wildlife Biologist. It did not make me feel any better. I was told this was a young bear. To the best of my knowledge, I have not heard or seen it at my door since. I was told to be very careful when Spring came. I frequently have deer in my front and backyard. My backyard is fenced in. The photos I have of the deer are incredible.
I have those door handles that you just pull down on to open. After seeing a bear on my back porch in one of these videos I now have a nightly ritual of making sure they’re all locked!
Breaks my heart to see outdoor cats. In the US, domestic and feral cats have decimated the songbird population. Plus, it's so dangerous for them: poison, larger animals, mean people, cars, etc. Their well-being depends on us. Trying to spare others grief and regret. Paz y luz
Hi from Eugene! ❤ And Happy Year! 🎊

Lived in Oregon my whole life and I’ve never seen a Black Bear once. A little disappointed.

@@ddessert314, I have a traditional doorknob. I also have a deadbolt. I always keep both locked.
My wife is up there every early morning she can to hike Ridgeline. ...
You could eat well for most of the year!
Be careful Dave. It looks like you might have a patch of poison ivy to the right of your "under the fence" pass-through.
All poison oak here out west.
