Been keeping an eye out for some coils for my EM2. Was considering the Maxpeeding rods but it is so 50/50 on their ratings, but if they're happy to replace them I may give it a shot. thank you for the in depth video!
Hello, just some thoughts. While adjusting the upper locking collets, it may, as a side effect increase spring rates, although that is not it's purpose. It is for setting something called pre-load. Most coilover manufacturers will recommend pre-load for their coilover in the manual and that is set by using that collet. BC Racing for example recommends a 5mm preload for the RSX coilovers, and that is the thickness of the tool used to adjust the collets, making it extra easy to set. Also, typically the damper adjustments are supposed to be very similar front vs back. On cars with less weight in the rear like the RSX, it is common for people to run it slightly stiffer in the rear. Ex: 16 clicks in front, 18 in rear... but setting 7 in the front and 30 in the rear will make the car extremely unbalanced... unless there is some weirdness with the Maxpeeding coilovers that requires this kind of setup?
I was looking at Coilovers for my em2 I just got already got a rsx steering wheel and accord R Speedline wheels. but i have a wheel gap maybe I'll not skip over the maXpeeding rods coils 👀
I have on Tru Hart Street Plus on my JDM Honda Integra type r however they don't have the adjustable damper settings so I'm trying to get them dialed in

Interesting. I never ran them before. I have been running Maxpeedingrods products since about 2010 to current. I haven’t been disappointed with their products. I know their customer service use to be CRAP I had a question before and they wouldn’t even answer it but now they are pretty quick to reply and solve any issues or questions.
@@TexasHondaChannel yeah they have definitely come a long way since they started as $215 on eBay. Now I would say they are right on par with raceland and maybe even a bit better in the longevity department. In addition they have stated to put out some other really awesome products. @brutalb83 just bought some progress cs3 street and gonna put them next week hopefully. When you installed them , did you also use any roll center/extended ball joints or inverted tie rods? Or anything like that? I would appreciate your feedback 🙏
@Amir Parvez Hey there! So I did have inverted tie rod ends when I was on my Tein coilovers. I emailed Progress to ask what they recommend and they said that the arm on their coilovers has been repositioned to account for the tie rod angle problem and that they did all their testing using OEM spec tie rod ends and ball joints, so that's what I went with.
@brutalb83 thank you for the reply 🙏 that answered a lot of the questions I was thinking. I saw that progress adjusted the arm of the coilover so I wasn't sure if I should get the extended ball joints or inverted tie rods so I was gonna ask them about but thankfully because of you I don't need to🙏 How much did you lower your car by?
@Amir Parvez I forget the exact measurements, but it's fairly low. About a 2 finger gap, I think. One other thing about these coilovers is that they just have the one collar for height. They don't use preload at all and when you jack the car up, the spring can be moved around. Just watch to make sure that it seats back properly when you lower the car back down. I actually bought some helper springs from Swift to deal with that, but from what I've read, it's not really necessary.
Thank you I’ll do my best! I honestly can say both brands performed very well and I’m impressed with both. I just prefer damper control that’s why I went with MaXpeedingRods
Curious if the ride quality improved with the lower spring rate. I have some old Megans with high spring rate and they are pretty unbearable with 18's. 17x9+35 is the way to go on the rsx
This is exactly how I installed mine, but when it comes to a bump it hit so bad. Feels like metal hit on metal. I’m not sure if I have to stiffen them all, right now I set the rears as very soft like to zero stiffness and the front at 14 (14 clicks to the stiff side)
Didn't seem too bad between the 2 but the maxpeedingrod didn't look like they would go as low as the f&f. I still like my adjustable suspension better lol.
@@TexasHondaChannel yeah that why I got air ride lol. That was always one thing I noticed about maxpeedingrods their inner threaded sleeve was always longer then most which ended up making the lower bracket larger. But if ya ever wana 4x4 ride height they the way to go for sure lol
