Hi Mike coming along nicely and learning so much for our own build when we get our boxes out for planning next steps. I'm sure I have seen in one of your earlier videos, though can't re-locate, is it possible to lift the engine and attached gearboxes out of our old chassis using the two engine lifting padeyes safely alone in a single lift? The two bolted on eyes attached fore and aft with rather tiny bolts on a 300 tdi don't look quite man enough to my untrained eye to hold the lot. (We've borrowed a rather large wheeled overhead A-Frame for this)
You're doing excellent job of explaining the installation of all the components. I appreciate your time and effort, thank you
Much appreciated!
I like your oiler. Very old school.
You make it look simple. If it really were simple, everybody would be doing it.
Jobsagoodun. Just shows you that tolerances were tight at manufacture if a tiny burr stops play.
That's right - this box has been apart in the past

I have lifted them out on the rear engine mount bracket in the past - perfect balance point of the 300Tdi combo - just make sure both M8 bolts are in
@@BritannicaRestorations thanks Mike!
Do you not fill the new bearings with grease before fitting? Or are they already greased.
There is only EP80/90 oil used in these transfer cases
Wish he would clean the part he filed so no small metal shaving enter the bearing.
Your new here aren't you?
Did that LT230 just talk to you?
Let that be a lesson to you mike
To your fan's, if I was paying someone to do the job of aatb at say 5000$ and watched the video I would not be happy.
@@petercheney1369 the video is edited so you don't see every second but everything mike builds is cleaned to the highest standards.
