Indycar made the right call to postpone the race to Monday. You can race in the rain but when its so heavy that you cant see whats going on in front of you and when theres standing water it becomes unsafe to drive. Other than that, I enjoyed this race.
tommythetreat000 wasn't there a visor on the cars planned !? If You treat those with rain-ex or any nanoprotection coating on them visabilitiy and antifoging should be good!? ..right!?
There was a race at Martinsville Speedway earlier this year where a driver by the name of Harrison Rhodes made what I thought was the Save of the Year... I think Spencer Pigot & Zachary Claman De Melo just beat that...
Im not american I am mexican and I gotta say, if it wasnt for nbc uploads on yt I wouldnt watch indycar or buy hats. Lots of f1 here and theres a large following of nascar and the defunct mexican nascar series. But i can tell you theres huge hype with the young under 20yo- 40yo as far as racing. That on racedays our local bar is always full during f1 gp's and indy events like the 500.
An exciting category. Thanks for uploading. However, too many pilots whining about racing under the rain. That's the difference between F1 pilots and Indy's.
wonder how well or how bad those new windscreens are going to work in weather conditions like this, so besides the drivers trying to keep their visors clear from all of the spray from the cars in front of them, now they will have to worry about the same thing with the windscreens, Kinda hope that this windscreen thing doesnt backfire and become something that INDYCAR may shouldnt have done
Andrew Silva if You nanocoat these windscreens -> 3-5x better than rain-ex I guess theses screens could be very helpfull under rainy conditions. Got such coating on my pretty shallow sportscar-windscreen and nearly needed no wiper all winterseason above 35mph
Wonder how those enclosed Cockpits that are in the works, are going do do when they have to race in the rain like this, bet after a few laps, its going to be pretty difficult to see out the front of those, and the ONLY way to clear the view is to do a pit stop where the crew will be able to tear away with of those tear aways.....
One more comment. If indycar had a package where you could get live streams of races for under $5 us dollars here in Mexico i would get a mexican following. F1tv for example is about $4 american here all my friends and I have it on our rokus and xbox etc.

Meh. I understand rain racing... but come on, they were doing like 50 kph, they couldn't really go hard on the throttle because they have 750 horsepower and also weigh like 750 kilos. Add into that, they have turbos, the way the turbos kick in is violent, they just slam the rear tyres (almost like they should have kept normally-aspirated engines) and the drivers just lose control. The wings only produce downforce at speed, and as stated before, they can't get to speed! I love Indycar, it is *easily* my favourite racing series (please come back to Watkins Glen!) but there is a difference between rain racing and racing on a day when people are taking animals two-by-two onto a big boat. Also, Indycar should get an intermediate tyre. If you saw the 2019 Indianapolis GP, you had drivers on reds and drivers on wet, but the drivers on reds were slipping around and the drivers on wets were going slow as to not tear up the soft rubber compound on the wets. It's more than just an issue with on-track action, it's a safety issue as well. Racers are competitors, and if someone is coming up fast behind you, you're going to go faster, and if you're going fast on slick reds on a wet track, you're going to crash, and if you're going fast on rain tyres on a track that isn't really *that* wet your tyres are going to lose grip and you'll crash the next lap.
Kimball stalls it while driving causing a FCY that ultimately led to the postponement of the race. This is a farce! Finally equip these cheap cars with onboard starters! BTW Kimball should switch to bicycle racing or something.
Can you please make a rule for interviews in indycar that prevent drivers to say every god dam sponsor on the car? Its annoying & we see the sponsors the hole race on the cars...
I think IndyCar made a season compilation of every driver mentioning Verizon in 2016 or 2017 with cha-ching sounds every time Verizon was said :p Gotta pay the bills somehow, I'm fine with it, not a deal breaker in getting me to watch
I like the racing in indycar a lot. Some rules or descisions are weird for me, als a guy used to watch mainly fia races. I like also the direct contact betwenn teams,driver and broadcaster in & after the race. But you can clearly skip the first 30sec of every driver interview when the sponsors are mentiond and then the real question get answerd. Maybe its so annoying for me, because i not used to this american style of sponsordeals.
Yes. Let's make more rules that result in people losing money making things worse. Brilliant. Let's make a different rule where every other interview is just several repitions of all sponsors so more businesses are enticed to sink money into the sport so we get better racing.

LP for ever f1 drivers are amazing the best because they have faster cars on a road corse. Set up a f1 for a oval it would go as fast as a Indy car maybe faster given it has the gearing. But IndyCar drivers drive faster in Reality. at Indy 230avg vs 214 top speed for f1 today at Baku one of the fastest tracks.
so you admit that the f1 car is faster if you set it up for the same track but still think it has nothin to do with the track that indy has a higher average speed? its the track, not the driver. not a single indy driver made it in the f1, alot of mediocre f1 drivers where quit succesful in indycar racing. there is a point about who is bedder...
UA-cam is the reason why I'm watching more Indy than f1 these days. It's awesome and totally worth waiting a few days for.

Its still being developed. Unlike the halo, Indycar isn't gonna rush anything into action until its 100% ready to go.

It's really common on American Motorsport though, not just IndyCar..
