Nice review. I bought one for a family member a few years ago. I wear neck braces religiously when offroading. For street riding, i wear a hit-air airbag vest/jacket that inflates an airbag around the neck and upper torso
+Albert Tran Thats pretty cool! Must have cost a bit. I don't follow the air bag tech too much. Have they managed to get them to inflate in a crash without an attachment to the bike?
+OldManTriple Thanks! Always weird being in front of the camera or is that just me? Yer I never considered one in my many years on road. But as soon as I started to mix it up off road it came up a lot in conversation and I quickly decided it was a good move for the dirt.
+chroniclesofsolid all good mate...just the one bike now that's all circumstances allow for at the moment...but I will follow you and feel every bump jump n dump...hehe
Yes I come back to old postings , usually looking at your considerations of riding gear . At first just becoming familiar , now realizing the only way is diving in and make the best of it . Very nice having starting points suggested with reasons behind them , May be a bimonthly mention of your thoughts ? Thanks
Would a youth size be better for thinner people so there's not as much gap between the base of your neck and the bottom of the protector seeing how from the front the protect is basically sitting at the top of your chest? Or is it supposed to be that slack/have that amount of gap?
What size is that mate? Do you think the Leatt ones are worth the money? Heard that Leatt is a doctor that started developing them because his son sustained a neck injury and wanted to protect riders. Looking at the price seems like he wants to protect his pockets.
Yep, Leatt is indeed a Dr and they make good products but like you the price was a major barrier + I don't ride that hard. My EVS is the adult size and has served me well.
chroniclesofsolid Yeh fair enough mate.Im not doing hardcore stuff either. Just typical dual sport stuff on wr250r. I want to get one but $400+ is a lot of money for a bit of plastic. I’ll probably end up with the one you got. Cheers👍
I wear the leatt 4.5 on the dirt and I love it but it doesn't work to well on the street, it's just to tall for the sport bike. Have you ridden in the evs on the street? For the price I might give it a try anyways but I like other rider's feedback. Great video!
+Zach Read I wear it on the street as in when I am on my way to the trails. If I am just riding street I don't bother. It is comfortable though. Good luck with it!
Hey, chroniclesofsolid Do you think this is something that would work on the street as well? I am looking for something that helps take the weight of my neck well riding. Thanks for any advice..be safe
I just realised your comment was on the neck brace and not my latest vid, haha sorry! Yer neck braces are fine for the street. I wear my neck brace to the trails which is 50km+ and on adventure trips. Just did 1053km with it on. As for neck support, no it wont help. It is designed not to inhibit normal motion of the neck, so it offers no support until you crash/come off. Sorry for the preview reply :P COS
Love the comment "if you are worried about aesthetics your in the wrong genre". Absolute Classic. Thanks for a great no BS review.
Done mate.. i'm getting one! Thx for the video!

Good review...Everything you mentioned made sense.
+manfromhongkong Thanks 👍
Nice man. Never thought of one myself but makes sense for off road for sure.

Good job, I'm getting one, excellent review.
👍
well done big fella....very informative
+Bandit 1250S Thanks mate! how are you trucking along? Still got the DR?
+chroniclesofsolid all good mate...just the one bike now that's all circumstances allow for at the moment...but I will follow you and feel every bump jump n dump...hehe
+Bandit 1250S Good to hear. At least you still got the big red beastie!

Hey Shannon, Yer I am planning to do an updated dual sport gear video. One more item to obtain :-)
Thanks mate never knew these existed , also found a Airbag Vest for riding that can help with impact when you come off.
You are the second person to mention air bag vests. I will have to check it out.
noticed it flicking through you tube but the price tag OMG
You are not kidding! I Will have to wait for the tec to become cheaper I think.
Thanks broth!
Loved it.
This provided a good perspective.. Thanks sir
You're welcome
I wear a neck brace when I go serious offroading. I probably should wear it more though. Nice review!
Thanks mate! I wear mine on every dirt ride but that is because I always fall off haha. You being a much better rider, probably is not necessary.
chroniclesofsolid Actually because I push myself so hard off road I should wear it more!

Great review mate! Really informative including how the straps work. Do you typically strap under or over clothing?
Over👍
How did you mount the straps
Can this be worn over an ADV jacket for street and dual sport mode?
