I'm one of the few Tempest players that doesn't use rolling surf. Only thing that bothered me is the accuracy of it. Personally I use breaker and squall. The speed difference is very minimal and you teleport to the enemies with the squall/your primary atk.
My build is almost the same but I changed Flowing Strike for breaker skill which shields me for 110k (2/4) due to eternal gear; despite I changed to sadder I sensed I was very slow now
Yes for sure go with tempest. Infact its best time to explore a new class especially when it doesn't have as many essences as wizard. It will be alot easier to get a grip on the class and i hope you have fun playing it.

A simple question. I play mage main, but I want to change the class since mage is not fun anymore for me. Should I change to tempest, is worth it?

Does the vortex attack speed affect the rolling surf ?
sadly it does not which i have noticed. Roiling have locked attack speed

I like this Vortex essence, but Rolling Surf on chest piece have 10% reduction couldown if awakened.
