I don’t think anyone will mind if you jump to the new album but they actually have 3 not 2. This Place Will Become Your Tomb is the next album and you don’t wanna skip it’s got some fire tracks. Hypnosis and Alkaline are a must. Been having a good time watching you descend down the ST rabbit hole
The song is about being betrayed by friends, lovers and family, and how it is therefore easier to be alone. Despite the fact that there is no one left to share anything with, good or bad, intensifies the feelings of loneliness. Even so, an acceptance of the situation is indicated by the line "all so easy for me." I could be completely wrong, of course 😉🤣. Stay safe 🤘 ✌️
this is the perfect example of contrast in my opinion. Like a painting with lots of blacks and darks in the background, the light and the color shine brighter because of the juxtaposition. The middle section of this song is gorgeous, but bookended by the darkness, it hits me like a concentrated beam of beauty straight to my soul.
the trilogy of albums has an overarching storyline. its fire storytelling which really drew me in. essentially in this album vessel and the deity "sleep" are in a tango together where he can be with sleep only while he is in the dream world. there are other gods and i think they disapprove of their relationship. later on in take me back to eden i think vessel ascends to deity status himself to destroy the dream world so they can be together in waking time.
from one interpretation of the songs Gods is sleep in a tirade against vessel because in the previous song Give he says that he “will be watching for your enemies to let them know that they contend with me.” Being vessel brought up sleep’s enemies she reminds him of his place and how the gods are not to be played with
