@@cinnamonbewtired not really he caught his son in a lie then punished him. Then Chris decided to disobey that punishment and got grounded longer.
Eddie is dealing with all parents got through and that is his son is growing up and since Eddie is a little protective that can be seen as him being a prick but Eddie is not.

That was the hardest part for my dad. He wasn't around much when i was growing up due to his job but he was always there for me. He had a hard time dealing with the fact that I was a teenager with a mouth and attitude at times on me. As well as having a slight protective streak even though I'm close to 40 now and it gonna get even now that we just lost my mom a few weeks ago and he was also protective of her as well.

Yup. As a disabled adult. I had so many people who didn’t know me, be “yes men” around me it confused me and messed with my head ALOT. For a long time I got away with alot as my mom thought I was this perfect Angel, she eventually caught on and started setting limits and boundaries. Looking back I appreciate it. It taught me what it means when people are being honest, people who love you will tell you the truth BECAUSE they love you, they don’t see you as incompetent, they see you as someone who knows EXACTLY what they are doing ergo( they know you have a intellectual brain and aren’t brain dead and don’t know anything, they realize you are smart and perceptive.- it’s a nice feeling)

It’s important to treat your disabled child as normal as possible Aja setting boundaries and giving consequences that work for them, not every consequence is right for every child. But being a “yes man” tells me personally that you think very little of me and that I’m incapable of thinking critically and understanding right vs wrong and more serious concepts. And yes some kids/adults truly aren’t but every situation is different. But parents know their kids snd know what they are capable of understanding. Like Christopher here, his communication is different and may make some people think he’s not that bright but just because he struggles to speak “normal” ( I use quotations because normal is relative)
Doesn’t mean he’s incapable of actual critical thinking. His actor for example is capable of having a job. Most people would think that possible with his disease. He’s breaking barriers. It’s incredible and I’m so happy he’s showing that you may look and speak differently it doesn’t mean as I often say “you don’t have a brain” it may work differently and take time to communicate but it still works. Those without disabilities just need to learn to adjust their perception and actions. Mistakes happen but just keep trying and learning.

I don't know what Eddie's age is supposed to be, but if it's the same as Ryan Guzman in real life, he was 31 when first introduced, and Christopher was said to be 7 at the time which would make Eddie 24 when he was born. ‏It fits with the overall portrayal of Eddie and Shannon's relationship, Eddie more or less said (when Chimney was debating whether to propose to Maddie) that he proposed because Shannon got pregnant. They were young and the pregnancy unplanned.
