(I'm going to try and describe my opinion on the EoC without being bias or sounding like a fanboy as best I can) Though I wasn't exactly anticipating the EoC release after trying the Beta, I was curious nevertheless. Though the amount of button pressing and attention required to use EoC at an optimal rate was strenuous on my hands, the experience rate was very impressive, and it allowed me to level Attack from 91-99 in a mere 7 days at Deadly Red Spiders using a set of Guthan's for healing. While yes, I was saddened by some changes that really nerfed my gear, the healing/defence abilities came in handy for PvM, being able to heal without food, or break free from a stun like Ice Barrage, which was a blessing to someone like me who's max melee, because it gave me and other melee fighters a reasonable chance at fighting mages instead of merely standing there frozen, while the mage farcasts you. I was highly anticipating the release of Revolution, though. It'd make it a lot less strenuous on me and still get a very reasonable amount of experience in. With gradual improvements to it, Revolution easily became my primary combat mode for the EoC, and it made me very happy. I expect at this point many people like me had a good grasp on the EoC. Now I won't say much about PvP for two reasons: One, I do not wish to start any sort of argument or flame war, etc...And two, I was never really a Pker to begin with, even before the EoC for a very simple reason: I couldn't Pk. "What do you mean?" What I mean is I didn't have certain things that made Pking a viable option for me. Things like the Ancient Curses, Ice Barrage, Vengeance, AGS, Claws, Dharok's, Chaotics, and high-level/popular Summoning familiars. Without these, I couldn't really get the full experience of Pking nor could I match against anyone else who had these things, even if they were a lower level than I was. You have to understand all I had was about a 5-10m bank prior to the EoC. Now, just for the record, I am a loyal veteran of RuneScape who has loved and respected this game and Jagex since I started on October 23, 2006. I know what the nostalgia feels like, because trust me sometimes I just go crazy with nostalgia and have so many flashbacks which I won't go into too much detail. My point is, I completely understand how some other veterans may feel, believe me on that right now. You are not alone, because there are things I didn't like either. When OSRS was announced, yes I was very excited to get some nostalgia, but there was one thing that really annoyed me. The fact that you had to start from scratch wasn't exactly appealing to me, since I'd already put thousands of hours like many others into the main game as it is, and it's not that I didn't want to start over. I was somewhat interested to be a 'newbie' again, but like many others we'd grown up a lot since 2007 and we simply didn't have as much free time as we did before. You know, like many of us have jobs, a boyfriend or girlfriend, college, highschool, the list goes on. We simply couldn't put all of those hours back into the game, since I'm sure the strongest memories most of us have of the 'Old RuneScape' was Pking, quests, minigames, or just high-level content in general, which would take a long time to do in OSRS compared to RuneScape today. Hearing about Legacy Mode definitely peaked my interest. I was curious about how they'd incorporate it into the main game alongside the EoC. I was thinking to myself "How can this even be possible? Like they're so different!" But when playing the Beta, I was pleasently suprised to see the resemblence. Of course, the special attacks, the auto-attacks with those random low hits despite being 99 Strength, you know, the brown interface, animations, etc etc... The hilarious thing was that I had gotten so used to the EoC, it was like I'd completely forgotten how to play the game. I was so confused on what I used to do, like how it used to be, trying to get that old rythym back into play. I was laughing at my own stupidity to remember all of it despite being a seasoned veteran, LOL! Nevertheless, these days I've come up with what I believe is a clever answer on which combat mode I should use. I decided that based on what I'm fighting, when it was put into the game, the updates it recieved, mechanics, etc...That would decide whether I use the EoC or Legacy Mode to best suit the needs of fighting that particular monster. For example, if I was going to kill a newer boss or monster like the QBD or KK, I'd go ahead and use the EoC, but if it was simply a barrows run or a slayer task, KBD, KQ, or older content, then yeah I would use Legacy. There are certain exceptions also but I won't go into too much detail... P.S. I'd prefer if you didn't give me a reply, as this is all I wanted to say, nothing more. Thanks, ~Alex
dapoculos13 Except for me I actually have more time now to play RS than I did before due to parents limiting RS time, so yeah didn't get to enjoy the old RS when it was supposedly more fun =(. Oh well, hopefully you guys enjoyed your time on RS while you played it.
Skush Ice Yeah man, I had been playing the game for 3 years (1.5 years f2p, 1.5 years p2p) and I had never got bored of it. It was awesome because there were tons of stuff to do. Suddenly after EoC I realised I could complete everything easily. So eventually I had nothing to do because everything became too easy. Meanwhile, Pking, staking and mini games died so yeah I got bored of it for the first time of my life. All I can say is good job EoC for killing the game.
Songs used in this video some years ago: Acts 29 - Posse on Burnside feat. Ethic and Othello (2001) Naughty by Nature - Uptown Anthem Joe Budden - Thou Shall Not Fall Rammstein - Feuer Frei
Despite not having played runescape in 15 years. It is still my grounding. It is the basis of my life. The anchor when life becomes turbulent and chaotic.
Wow, talk about a blast from the past. This video came out a few months before I got into Runescape. 11 years old. I can't believe it's been 15 years...
Wasn't there a song before the Naught by Nature one? I have the old video on my much older phone and i cant find the song anywhere online the only part i know is like "five mc's, together for the first time make it worth while" it was very upbeat rap
If any of you guys are interested the original songs on this vid are 'upbeat anthem' by naughty by nature, it then changes to 'feuer frei' by rammstein when the dharoks comes in. You can mute this video and try to start the other song as the same time as this video for maximum awesomeness
I first watched this video like 4 years ago. Coming back to watch it again, but of course, I have to open up Uptown Anthem in another window because this video isn't complete without it.

Savage 2 is a unique 3D fantasy action MMO with strategy elements published by S2 Games - the same company behind Heroes of Newerth. @kingratboy2 this video was made back when the runescape damage numbers were always 10x less than they are now, and ur hitpoints were exactly ur health, not 1/10th of it, so keep in mind to calculate the damage here, multiply what they hit by 10, thats how much damage they did

That was the great Runescape. R.I.P. in 2012 with the release of EoC...
Old School runescape is back my friend. They even have some new content in it, but the basic gameplay is the same. :D
Yes I'm aware of it, Old School is very nice, I just need to do a lot of work on it before I reach that level of enjoyment.
