Glasklare Intonation des Orchesters mit einem noch jungen Christoph Eschenbach, dessen Exaktheit nicht nur durch seine Mentoren Karajan und Szell mitgegeben worden ist, sondern in ihm schon als Pianist erkennbar war. Die wunderbare Sopranistin Price brachte eine Präsenz von unglaublicher stimmlicher Fülle, dass die Arien zum allerhöchsten Genuss wurde. Wunderbare Aufzeichnung.

Sie ist wunderbar, einfach wunderbar. Es gibt andere Interpretationen, es gibt größere Stimmen etc. Aber viel besser kann man das wohl kaum singen. Ich wüsste heute keine, die das so kann.

das war damals wirklich eine goldene Ära: neben M: Price: Helen Donath, Edith Mathis, Gundula Janowitz, Lucia Popp etc .... und heute?? Da gibt es nicht eine einzige, die an diese Damen herankommt
