    I feel like I need to add my two cents here:
    1) Avid boats are awesome. I purchased the FS19 from Plano Marine two years ago and I am in love with the thing. They are designed and built to provide years of fun driving and great fishing with very little maintenance. They are worth the purchase price, believe me. That is important because...
    2) I bought my 19FS w/ 90hp motor for $36,000 and change. That's an awful lot for a 19' boat, but I've worked my whole life and thought I deserved one last boat that was new and nice.
    3) I was quoted by the Shreveport dealership for the 21FS w/200hp motor at $53,000. And they would not budge on the price. Not a single dollar. The guy was actually insulting, which is why I bought my boat in Dallas.

    Finally a real boat builder with proper features.
    25 inch transom.
    Proper SS tube leaning post
    Fuel cell forward
    Battery’s forward
    Wide decks, not narrowing
    Marine thick aluminum
    I am shopping my retirement boat to bass fish and shallow saltwater fish. I also wished this held 7ft 9 inch rods.
    I will keep looking, but will probably come back to this Avid Boat
    Also not excited about hours to my nearest dealer. 🤔

    Beautiful boat. Anyone with an xpress boat wishes they had all those features the avid has. Basically Avid did what everyone wishes xpress would do. The only problem is that it brought the price up a little to much to realy compete with xpress in price.
    What they should have done is this: 1. Put the gas under floor in order to have the ice chest leaning post. Check
    2. 25 inch transom. Check
    3. Dry storage. Check.
    Those three things and price it like an xpress h20b.
    I think if they would have gone that route (if possible ) they would have pulled many xpress buyers to Avid.
    Maybe even just having the ice chest leaning post would have been enough to pull in the xpress buyers.

    Sharp boat! I’m a bass boat guy right now, but could see going this direction for the extra seating. Only downside I see is the rod locker maxing out at 7’6”. I have a handful of rods that are 7’9”. I have been thinking I would want the 150 on this model, but the difference of only 6mph is surprising. Anyone watching bass fish from one of these?

    I am very interested in this boat, what are the advantages and disadvantages? How stable is this boat in rough water?

    • @BucksIsland
      @BucksIsland  4 роки тому +2

      Sorry for the delayed response. Probably the biggest disadvantage is they are not cheap aluminum boats, so some will get some sticker shock (but we think a 21' bay with a 150hp Yamaha for around $38K plus whatever electronics you like isn't too bad in today's market) . They ride very much like fiberglass boats and of course aluminum will last forever and is fairly easy to repair. They're a little lighter. The center line fuel tank provides a lot of advantages over other aluminum bays.
      As for rough water, we haven't had a chance to get in big water, but they certainly run very much like a fiberglass boat. With their beam they are extremely stable. We don't see any reason you couldn't do the same things you'd do with any other 21' bay boat.
      Bottom line, Avids are a boat that will sell itself once you go for a ride!

    Nice job on the layout Avid Boats! How much water would this boat need to get up on plane?

    • @BucksIsland
      @BucksIsland  4 роки тому

      I don't have an exact draft number for you since there are a ton of variables there, but it doesn't take much. They built it to run shallow flats. If we can keep a demo boat long enough, maybe we could do some draft tests...

  • @popeyeandy959
    @popeyeandy959 4 роки тому

    Did he say the deeper transom allows for more floatation foam to improve shallow water draft? More foam is more weight (albeit not much), which increased draft. The floatation foam is a safety item incase the boat swamps, the foam will displace the water, keeping it from sinking.
    What kind of price point is that with a 115?

    • @BucksIsland

      Bucks Island I own a Vexus 1980! Love it!! But this new boat company will push Vexus to be even better! An maybe Ranger will wake up!! There is a very small part of the customer base who can or would want to put 80 grand in a boat! 90 percent of all sales in the US on fishing boats would be between 35 an 50 thousand. I have had 3 glass boats in my lifetime. An I would say for the weekend angler like me the metal boats are a very good option!!
