I have over 500 My Little Pony and the My Little Pony I saw looks like a g3.5 Scootaloo. Check if the hair is removable or not since some came with removable hair for a Salon set. It was meant as a way to change the hair/mane that they have. If it isn't removable then it is not one of the ones for a salon set. I collect My Little Pony the most and have some Littlest pet shop on the side. I like My Little Pony more but Littlest pet shop is something I also like.

Also, I just really like him because he's a nostalgic pet for me, and I wanna give him the luxury of being called a shorthair.

I believe they sold them at the Dollar General, and it was a tube with several different pets and maybe a couple accessories (I'm not entirely sure, this was over a decade ago lol).
