Wings are smaller and made out of high strength composites. The jet uses the lifting body design to take a lot of the stress away from the edges. It's more durable than any 4th gen fight.

I think that the Russian T57 isn't even half of an old F22 Raptor ? Just from a viewer point of view !! You can question me about this of you like .....
The Su-57 is a 4th gen fighter with some low observable properties. It's no more stealthy than the newer F/A-18's. It's a solid design, but nothing groundbreaking, and not even close to half of the F-22 as far as capability. And it's still not hitting full production, and it's more than 20 years since the F-22 was designed. Same goes for China's J-20... it's engines are so pathetic it looks like it's going to drop out of the sky.
Remember folks, this is all done with close to combat load (all internal). Put weapons and pods and missiles on 4th gens and they aren't going to do any of this. And definitely not at high altitudes where the air is much thinner. A Super Hornet can't even go supersonic with weapons! Those Sukhois aren't doing their fancy airshow stunts either. Just the center tank on the F-16 restricts it to 7g till it's empty.
@Blob B don't you love how everyone thinks we are replacing all our other planes just because we have a new one to add? Dave, bro, my dude.... the plan currently is to use the F-35 and F-22 as armed stealth spotters for more heavily armed aircraft sitting far out to engage with long range missiles. That is why you see a new F-15 variant being produced with missile pylons out the ass also.
F-16C sustained turn rate of 18 deg/s. F-35A sustained turn speed of 10.03 deg/s In terms of transonic acceleration, F-35A takes 63 seconds to accelerate from M 0,8 to 1,2 @ 30.000 ft, compared to 40 seconds for F-16. F-16s acceleration is comparable to that of clean F-35A only if the F-16 is carrying two supersonic fuel tanks (~60 s w/ 2 EFT + 4 AMRAAM). [Note here; according to Stevenson, 2006, F-16s acceleration values given above are achieved at 40.000 ft; at 30.000 ft F-16C would need 28 seconds, which is less than half of time that the F-35A needs.] Initial climb rate is 259 m/s for F-35, 315 m/s for F-16A and 254 m/s for F-16C. It can be seen that the F-35 is outmatched in air-to-air combat against both F-16 variants. F-16A outmatches the F-35 in all listed parameters, while F-16C is comparable in terms of instantaneous turn rate but has superior energy management capabilities.
In a cannon dogfight yeah it’s got it’s advantages. But reality is more and more BVR. Further turn rates on a ‘16 with missiles and bombs and the targeting pods it needs to try and keep up technologically seriously slow it down. The f 35 has smashed its competetion at redflag achieving between 15 and 20 to one K/Ds. And that’s not because it’s crap. Had this been the 60s or early 70s you’d be mostly correct but it’s not the 60s anymore. That’s not even mentioning a f16 wouldn’t know a f 35 was there until it was to late and even if by some miracle it got close it would likely get jammed by the f 35s extremely efficient EW package

I didn't have the time to watch the whole thing but doesn't seem any more spectacular than any of the other Blue Angels. 15 we're spending a lot of money per hour with these planes using them up for what to justify their amazing expense?
The point is that they perform the same kinetically as any top fighter on the planet, with stealth, sensor fusion far beyond anything in the world (even the F-22) and cutting edge radar and avionics. We're going to have 2000 of them eventually, these are early block models designated for training that were never going to be upgrade to deployment standards. What they get from recruitment from these performances outweighs the cost tenfold, as the pilot is still the most important part of the system.
The point is airshows aren't a real fight. In real fights 5th gens utterly destroy all older fighters. Also the expense you talk about goes right back into all the jobs and research and the manufacturing. Govt spending is good for the economy. Spending money and actually setting a bunch of notes on fire aren't the same, even if that's how it feels.
It always makes me laugh when people say, "I still prefer the F-22"... As if the F-35 was EVER meant to compete/replace the F-22. The F-35 is the F-16 to the F-15 (except with a more advanced sensor suite).
If the blue angels are a navy demo team they should upgrade to f35s cause its a navy jet, the f22 is a army/air Force jet the thunder birds are a air Force team they should get f22s
Demo teams don’t use the most recent aircraft, Blues would use the Superhornet before F-35 because currently they fly the Hornets. Same for the birds they use earlier models of F-16 and it’s simply to expensive to run F-22 on a Demo team
Air shows aren’t meant to be; e.g cobra maneuveras; they’re really cool and are a testement to the flanker but irl are basically useless. If you want an impressive practical display look at the K/D and mission survival rates these aircraft get at exercise like red flag.

Gab Ross, actually, the impressive thing about the F35 Demos is that the aircraft is fueled and armed with a simulated combat load. Hang the equivalent gas bags and armament on an F-18 and suddenly it’s a dull performer. I agree that this one is likely lightly loaded for practice, but people need to understand that airshow antics aren’t anywhere near the demonstration of how most combat equipped fighters would perform.
I say its amazing and I was a F/A-18 C/D Operational Flight Trainer, Simulator Technician, I performed test flights every morning in the simulator for a few years to verify that it was fully functional before the pilots began their training. I had the Blue Angel pilots come in to fly the simulator prior to their shows at Barbers Point and Kaneohe MCAS (before it was changed to MCBH). The F-35's Paris airshow flight was confirmed at combat loaded weight and fuel, but only had the 3i software. because you don't know what to look for in a demo. Civillians are impressed with Cobras and Kulbits, pilots look for other things. Look at the take off, this is when the aircraft is at it's heaviest point, the Su-30 has a smooth take off routine in its demo where it slowly climbs up. The F-35 is extremely aggressive, very steep near vertical climb and still accelerating. Lets look at the minimum radius turn. most planes do this at the end of their demo when the aircraft is light on fuel. but the F-35 did it barely 3 minutes into the demo. most planes pitch down to maintain energy, the F-35 is actually pitched up, then after completing the 360, she pulls up to the vertical. thats how much energy she has left. then lastly, the slow speed pass at the 7 minute mark, to regain energy after such slow speed maneuvers you need to dive down, the F-35 CLIMED UP... Thats serious power you did not notice these things because you were looking for slow speed, high AoA maneuvers,

An old F-4 couldn't come close to touch this Bird.F-35 could loop twice inside of a F-4 loop and still smoke that old straight line fighter.Very nice routine especially the tight 360 and pull up :)
I think it's quite embarrassing to recall a superb airframe of the 60's/70's to demonstrate the F-35 superiority.
Jerónimo Rodríguez that’s because you didn’t realize he was responding to someone who said an F-4 could do the same demo.
Which it absolutely couldn't. The AOA of this thing is insane and a Phantom would have stalled multiple times in this demo.
Well, in fairness, Phantoms were dogshit.
Tight 360 ? Where is it ? a. Su 27 make a 360 in 12 - 13 seconds.

Wings are smaller and made out of high strength composites. The jet uses the lifting body design to take a lot of the stress away from the edges. It's more durable than any 4th gen fight.

What about Su-35.....

Hi
Yea
Remember folks, this is all done with close to combat load (all internal). Put weapons and pods and missiles on 4th gens and they aren't going to do any of this. And definitely not at high altitudes where the air is much thinner. A Super Hornet can't even go supersonic with weapons! Those Sukhois aren't doing their fancy airshow stunts either. Just the center tank on the F-16 restricts it to 7g till it's empty.

That is why you see a new F-15 variant being produced with missile pylons out the ass also.
Lockheed Martin is coming out with a new f16 look it up

F35确实很强大,值得我们学习
Just so so
F-16C sustained turn rate of 18 deg/s.
@@tamoraboys4813 stay on topic this video is not a beyond visual range demonstration but i will endulge you. While typical counterpoint is that the F-35 is designed to defeat the enemy at beyond visual range, and not engage in a dogfight, that also tells only part of the story. Other countries have capable ECM/EW systems which can prevent radar lock at long ranges while cueing IRST sensors to achieve long-range lock-on and launch IR BVR missiles.
@@ancap1065
A Bi-plane has more impressive turn rate than any of the planes mentioned.
The F-16 is being phased out and replaced by F-35s for a reason. Turn rates don't win air combat anymore. An F-16 needs to survive beyond visual range from an F-35 before it can engage in a dogfight. And that is by choice of the F-35 pilot.

Only countries buying the F-16 are the ones who can't afford the F-35.
The fact that you think the A-10 is still feasible today with its cost and effectivity against anti-aircraft says a lot about what you know.
The A-10 Warthog can only function with support aircraft making sure nothing's out to get it. It can't fly solo without its own support or it gets knocked out of the sky by something it can't outrun. Your beloved F-16 is now relegated to a tiny country or third world air defense. It's not even an air dominance fighter. That would be the F-22 and F-15.

The F-35 is compromised in all the ways Sprey said it was. Great job to whoever filmed this video; they captured some excellent visuals here.
Sprey has been wrong about everything he has ever talked about. Didn't want radars on jets. Thought the F-15, F-22 and M1 Abrams were failures. Agreeing with the man is the quickest way to prove you have zero idea what you're talking about.
@@jeebuzcrust Sprey is that kind of guy who claims leg muscles will slow a sprinter down because it adds weight. Those guys designed nothing, couldn't make a sketch by hand, never flew a plane, never fought in combat, never bolted a nut or screwed in a light bulb. Only the nutjob media takes them seriously.

Yeah it's cheaper than the F-15 ex without weapons and sensors and it's still coming down. You know how much the Rafale costm
THIS IS THE 5TH GENERATION???????????????????
If the blue angels are a navy demo team they should upgrade to f35s cause its a navy jet, the f22 is a army/air Force jet the thunder birds are a air Force team they should get f22s
Demo teams don’t use the most recent aircraft, Blues would use the Superhornet before F-35 because currently they fly the Hornets. Same for the birds they use earlier models of F-16 and it’s simply to expensive to run F-22 on a Demo team

Sorry but this display was nothing special. How easy it would be for a heat seeking missile to locate, track and go up the tailpipe of the f35.
Air shows aren’t meant to be; e.g cobra maneuveras; they’re really cool and are a testement to the flanker but irl are basically useless. If you want an impressive practical display look at the K/D and mission survival rates these aircraft get at exercise like red flag.
I'm more impressed by the kill ratio of 1:19 at Red Flag. If you saw that in person, you probably wouldn't even know what's happening. Which is exactly what the reaction was from any country targeted by this plane.
"Whole squadron dead Comrade. I kyannot understyand. Where is Kobra Maneuver?"
Lol good luck getting a target lock on something you didn't even know was there! The first sign a Chinese or Russian made fighter will see about the presence of an F-35 would be a remotely controlled missile fired from a completely different platform such as a drone/ship/sub/and that 4th gen aircraft that they were originally worried about because they were allowed to see it.
An F35 can see you way before you can see him. It has hands down the best situational awareness in the world. You would never get close enough for a heat seeker. Know what you are talking about before you open your mouth and let everyone else know you don’t.

To be honest it's very boring. The swiss F18 display is so much much better. I mean there the F35 has no weapon, has probably not much fuel and still has to use a lot of afterburner to keep the speed. I think in America you are used to have such boring displays. I'm not a hater but it's been some time that Im comparing the displays as an aviation fan. A lot of you are saying that it's amazing and whatever you have never seen a very good display I guess.
That because it’s not built for displays, it’s built to kill the enemy. You do know they don’t build them for Airshows, don’t you?
I say its amazing and I was a F/A-18 C/D Operational Flight Trainer, Simulator Technician, I performed test flights every morning in the simulator for a few years to verify that it was fully functional before the pilots began their training. I had the Blue Angel pilots come in to fly the simulator prior to their shows at Barbers Point and Kaneohe MCAS (before it was changed to MCBH). The F-35's Paris airshow flight was confirmed at combat loaded weight and fuel, but only had the 3i software. Meanwhile the most amazing part of this video is totally lost on most people and that is the low speed high AOA handling at 7:24minutes in, that slow, upright walk down the runway into the vertical without a nose-dip to regain energy is truly amazing for a single engine jet fighter!!!
because you don't know what to look for in a demo.
Thats serious power
you did not notice these things because you were looking for slow speed, high AoA maneuvers,
It's a war machine, no aerobatic one!
