feather by nujabes will always be my favourite song, it's the song that opened my eyes to music as something that can be enjoyed on a very deep level. i must have listened to it dozens of times on a loop when i first heard it, it hooked me from the first second. the way the instrumentation subtly builds and the constant loop of the piano paired with the features is so fantastic
the whole 時間 (jikan) record from betcover!! was my first love and i was obsessed with their discography since then. i highly recommend that or 卵 (tamago)
"Is Alvin his younger self?" You got it! (I think). That entire album feels like a coming of age record and Alvin Row is the grand finale that ties it all together. Some of the songs on there were written when he was just a teenager. It's the first retroactively classified 'animal collective' album but almost immediately after the release of it, the sound of their discography changes completely, like he's grown up from being that person. I could go on a whole ramble about this band, but I'm glad you loved the track so much! Let me leave you with this: I heard it once said that the harsh frequencies on Spirit soften and become more pleasant as you get older and your hearing ages. I don't know if that's true but I am interested to find out. I will always love Animal Collective. Great vid
If you liked An Orphan of Fortune, you should listen to the entirety of Self-Titled from MGMT. It has that trippy, powerful feeling throughout it all. Although not as powerful as that song, it has a really wierd feeling to it all that I absolutely love. Thanks for checking it out, its so cool to see a youtuber I really like see my comment and listen to a song that I suggested, it may not seem like much, but to me, it's one of the coolest things in the world. Maybe review the album in your casual style in another video?
Motion Picture Soundtrack by Radiohead is my pick for the best song of all time. The entire song is just a beautiful finale to Kid A, but even without the context of the album, it’s just a masterpiece of a song.
speaking of the betcover!! live album gabyo (画鋲), the versions of 超人 and 卵 from that concert are tied for my favourite songs of all time. they are both so incredibly emotionally potent and cathartic they are incredible i cant recommend them enough
islands is a weird pick, i love islands its one of my favorite kc albums but i wouldnt put it in a "best songs of all times list", king crimson has so many other insane songs like epitaph, in the wake of poseidon, larks tongues in aspic (i think the buildup from talking drum into the explosion of larks tongues part 2 is one of the best musical moments ever, together with the ending of starless). and in the album islands itself i would rather pick sailors tale and the letters to put on a goated songs list not islands
i just could never get into that album, i find it incredibly overrated and a 6\10 at best. Where is my mind is one of my favorite songs of all time though, and gigantic, bone machine and break my body are pretty good too.
@@assaftevet thats fair its a bit abrasive and on first listen i wrote a lot of it off as filler but i think i appreciate every song on the album way more as time goes on, to each their own though lol
You've reviewed my favourite, but try the 7:30 live version from the Red Rocks "Feeling Yourself Disintegrate" by The Flaming Lips. Greatest live performance of all time with the most emotional and again greatest guitar work during the last 3 minutes of the song.
You should check out feels by animal collective. I'm assuming you didn't care much for MPP but feels might be more up your alley, I think it's really good
Lo Borges - O Trem Azul (from Clube da Esquina) nothing necessarily spectacular about it other than it just being a well crafted song but I cannot get enough of it.
Women - Eyesore boasts the most distinctive guitars of the century, coupled with a captivating pop/post-punk sound highlighted by endearing vocals. This song, along with the entire album, is profoundly underrated in my opinion.
Welp the song I find to be a perfect song was already mentioned, so I will list three that I think come close. Father John Misty - Pure Comedy. The title track is one of the best ways I've ever seen an album open up. absolutely stunning vocals and instrumentals. Supertramp - The Logical Song. A complete descent into madness as everything becomes too much. There's also a sax solo in the middle which is incredible. Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues. Depressing and very raw, some of the greatest lyrics I've ever heard.
