    Can you convert an 'uno' shade to a 'finniel'? Because I just bought new base for my broken lamp and it has no clips. Of course I bought this b4 I saw your video. Anyway, I tried to remove them from the broken lamp but with no success. Should I just discard my finniel lamp shade and just buy a new uno? Or is there another way? I know this may sound petty, I'm just bummed about my broken lamp.

      Hi Stephen! I don't know of any ways to convert a shade. IF your base has the clips for the harp, then you can use the base for either an uno shade or a finial shade. If I understand you right, you have an uno base and a finial shade, and no clips for a harp - if that's the case, you can buy an adaptor - it clips onto the bulb itself and allows you to add a finial shade. I have seen them at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, but I'm sure that they are carried at other stores as well. I have not tried them myself, but I'm sure that they would work well, here's a link: www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/mix-match-lamp-shade-clip-on-adapter/1013708681?opbthead=true&ta=typeahead&Keyword=clip-on-lamp-shade. Good luck!

      Styled, Listed, and Sold (SLS) Academy Thank you for responding! I did what you said and stopped by BB&B and picked up the replacement clips. My new lamp is together goes very well with the older shade quite nicely 😊 - Thank you for making this video and your wonderfully kind help. ☺

    Hi. Great video. I just bought an Uno at Target. I get home and this lampshade has a large black nut and washer (all plastic) that goes into the lightbulb opening. If I leave it in, the bulb doesn’t have enough length to screw into the socket, and if I take it out, then the lamp shade opening is too big for the socket. Any thoughts on what I can do?

    Hi!! Looking for ideas/tips. I want to make a floor length rectangular lamp shade for my lamp. However my lamp does not have the clips for the harp. Is there anyway I can buy the harp clip and harp?

    • @denisekuenzel9465
      @denisekuenzel9465 6 років тому +1

      Hi, yes. Hardware stores carry harps and the clip thingy that goes on the base of the socket (finials sold separately) You will have to watch another video to see how to do that though because you have to take a lot of pieces apart to attach it. That’s why I’m here, actually, trying to find a good video on installing the harp clip!

    • @StyledListedandSoldSLSAcademy

      Yes, you can, here is an example of one that you can buy on Amazon: www.amazon.com/TooToo-Star-Adapter-Converter-Detachable/dp/B07DJC92NC/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1538950888&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=lamp+shade+finial+clip&psc=1. You can also use something like this that clips onto the light bulb: www.amazon.com/Upgradelights-Shade-Adapters-Attaching-Finials/dp/B008LBY3JO/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1538950888&sr=8-3&keywords=lamp+shade+finial+clip&dpID=41TX2aqW-UL&preST=_SX342_QL70_&dpSrc=srch. Hope that helps!

    what is the point of the connector parts on the harp and are they supposed to be loose?

    • @StyledListedandSoldSLSAcademy
      @StyledListedandSoldSLSAcademy  4 роки тому

      They are supposed to be loose - these are intended to an extra level of protection to prevent the harp from disconnecting if one of the sides/clamps comes loose. Some newer harps don't have them though.

    Question, although the Uno Shade will fit, it warbles as it doesn’t have any screws to hold it to the base of the lamp… any suggestion?

    • @StyledListedandSoldSLSAcademy
      @StyledListedandSoldSLSAcademy  2 роки тому

      Hi Julie Anne, thanks for your question! If the lamp is intended to hold a finial shade but you've removed the harp to convert it to an uno, it sometimes won't work perfectly as the lamp housing might be a bit oversized for the uno ring. However, sometimes when an uno shade isn't fitting properly it's actually because another part that wasn't discussed in this video needs to be removed. It's a round piece that screws off of the housing (where the bulb goes). It's usually black but could be a different colour. Once screwed off, you can place the uno shade and add this round piece back on to hold the shade in place. Hope that helps, and thanks for watching our video!

    Thanks so much for this video, I was so confused about how different shades could fit a lamp stand without a support 😁

    Can you buy a piece to add a harp?

    • @Beyondthestagehomes
      @Beyondthestagehomes 4 роки тому

      It can be done, but not every lamp is designed to allow it. It really just depends on the lamp - most can be fit with the clips for a harp, but some don't have anywhere to mount them.
