It is the 25.8. 2024 and I have listened to this 9 years after it was posted. On 22.8.24 whilst in prayer, 1 Samuel 2 which is about Hannah prayer came to my heart. I read the scripture and was meditating on it. I decided o see if there was a good message about Hannah and the title of this sermon caught my attention. I thank the Holy Spirit for leading me to this powerful sermon, that spoke to many of my experiences. God always knows what you need to hear and by who. So encouraging

Why do you think God blessed Hannah's plan to have Eli (who wasn't such a great father) raise her precious son Samuel rather far from her in Shiloh? (At Duet 6:7 all parents are commanded to raise and train their own children.)
That's a good question the answer I can think of because she promised God to give Samuel to him which probably is giving Samuel over to the preisthood and Eli was a preist so Samuel was to be raised as a preist now that's my opinion .but check God word and see if it's correct

When Sarah appealed to Abraham regarding persecution from Hagar and Ishmael, Abraham protected her, and he protected Isaac. But when Jacob didn't protect Joseph from his jealous (and murderous) brothers, and actually inflamed their jealousy with his favoritism, God saved Joseph by relocating him to Egypt. So, I think that when Hannah perceived that Elkanah hadn't protected Hannah from Peninnah’s persecution (but was instead inflaming Peninnah's jealousy by showing favoritism to Hannah (1 Sa 1:5)), and Elkanah seemed unlikely to protect young Samuel from Peninnah’s jealous (and likely to become murderous) sons, to save Samuel’s life, Hannah prayed to God to relocate Samuel to Shiloh. I think God recognized that doing so would not only protect Samuel, it would also provide a replacement for Eli’s wicked sons. So, I think that when God prioritized saving Samuel’s life over the requirement for parental training of Deut 6:7, the result was not an ideal situation, but it was as good as it could have been considering the imperfect people involved. From this story I think we can also see aspects of God's love for his own precious son, Jesus. How does that sound?
