There's an in-car of Lajoie going up and over on somebody's hood (whoever drove under him). Not sure who it was but the dash dashcam was crazy seeing Gainbridge roll up over top of it
I was there, the crowd control on mopeds was something hilarious to see, Jones’s crash and the big one was wild. I was sitting right in front of where Briscoe’s car ended up stopping
Personally, I'd shorten the spring race at Dega to 400 miles, 151 laps: S1 - 35, S2 - 35, S3 - 81. That way they don't have to pit for fuel at all in the first two stages, but have to split the third stage and the length is long enough that they can just go all out the whole time if they want. However, they'll still just get in line and ride for awhile to make sure they get to the last 20 laps. For the 500 mile raceL S1 - 54, S2 - 54, S3 - 80. That way they have to pit in each of the first two stages, but it opens up when they can pit so that there's no point in saving fuel. Same for the final run, they will be able to make it on one stop, but they'll have to run it almost all the way to the end of the fuel run to make it, so again, no point in saving. They'll either pit as soon as the window opens or split the run and could open up a pit timing strategy because there they'll still have to pit again for fuel at the end of the stages, so do you pit early and lose time later or pit later and lose time now with the extra time on pit road under green, or maybe you try and split the difference? It could make the whole race more interesting.
15:26 Erik Jones' wreck scared me. It looks eerily similar to Dale Earnhardt Sr's fatal wreck at the 2001 Daytona 500. The angle isn't the same, but it's close. 😢😢😢
@@thicccheese4007 disagree. im glad we finally have pit and fuel strategy back in nascar. that pit stop strategy with the toyotas was ALMOST sick as hell, now if only they'd do away with the stage cautions for christ's sake i might be able to tune into a race that isnt a road course or superspeedway. i dont mind stage POINTS. but i see no reason why the field has to go under caution after finishing a "stage" lap. the races where the stage cautions guarantee a stop for tires and fuel completely takes out the long term drama, the story lines, the intrigue of the racing that there used to be. might as well just record the race and fast forward it till you see cars spinning or a white flag. only reason you have the half throttle nonsense is because damn near all the field is too young to remember how pitstops used to work. the toyota's NEARLY showed them why that stuff doesnt work, till they wadded them up. they were running so much quicker they'da caught the field by the end and wouldnt have had to save when they did.
I dont want to defend FOX, as their broadcasts have been absolute garbage, but they probably didnt want to show the wreck before they could confirm everyone was alright. A car with it's roof towards incoming traffic could be a disaster.
I still don't understand why 3 guys were pushing. Jones pushing Reddick was enough. The other guys just needed to stay tight and they would have been making time.
