My mother came here And left my two older sisters in trinidad , she met my dad and they became citizens and had me and my sister, they BOTH worked so hard to provide not only a better life for me and my little sister (who are american) but also to get my two older sister here so they can live better too. In the 90s they finally made it after my parents worked so hard and got them there citizenship and we all were together at last. I never thought about what my mom went through until I had my own children and I appreciated her strength even more. She didn't have to have keep me but she did and raised us 4 girls with my father. I think about it all the time and though she never told me the details I just put myself in that situation , to have to leave your children behind to provide a better life is the ultimate sacrifice. So many parents have that story and I can't imagine what it would feel like to be thousands of miles away trying as hard as you can to reunite with your baby.
