10 years ago a lot of these places were repossessed by the banks. They were put on the market very damaged by the previous owners who were mad to lose their property. They were then placed on the market and sold as-is. I am not sure that this property is one of those. But when we were looking to move from Virginia to Tennessee, we did a lot of research. Regardless, this place is fantastic and would make a great place to live.
I’m in Southern California and it’s the same story all over. People were broke back then and didn’t have the money for repairs.
That’s why it’s sooooo important to get a professional home inspection
@@theyangview1898 it’s crazy how people skipped inspections just to buy a home
My husband is interested in finding a place to retire in the smokey mountains. His mother was originally from Tennessee and his grandmother lived in Sweetwater. We are already retired, we just want to spend the rest of our days in the smokey mountains. I was able to see some of it while we were going through Tennessee on our way to Oklahoma to visit our daughter. It is very beautiful.
It is gorgeous, good luck!
Please send information.
Lots of crime and drug addiction
you know they want alot of money when you can't even find the price on their website.

Beautiful place !!!
Beautiful
Real pretty cabin would love to live
Yes this home still for sale-soon I can Buy straight out namaste
Beautiful cabin but if your retirement age just remember your not a Billy Goat anymore This cabin has one heck of a walk and a lot of stairs coming and going from the water
Why is the water level so low?
The lake is on a dam and they drain the water down each winter so that when the snow melts and rain falls from the mountains it can fill back up and not overflow.
The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) Lowers the water level .
How much??
we have vacationed numerous times at an air bnb in sevierville, on evans chapel road...we love the area...like big league, we love the cabin we stay in...but it is in no way suitable for full time living...back in november and will be on the hunt...help me out here...one level living (a must we are getting older) but a basement is also a must...wood burning stove preferable, but a wood fireplace will do...minimum of an acre..no more than five...and wood floors and walls...we never want to pick up a paintbrush again in our life...last indoor laundry (which i thought was normal..but not so) Im not shlepping my laundry out to a garage
i'm sure I can help you find something. Drop me an email at randy.b@10realty.net and we can start sourcing something for you.
@@RandyBable we will be i Cosby Thanksgiving week..our parameters. Sevierville, Cosby as far as white plains. Nepheq in Cosby thinks we would love white plains
How much !?!?!
It'd be nice if you could find the PRICE!
Hi Jo Ann... the price is on the website where we can adjust it if needed without re-editing the video. That property just closed last week. The list price was $545,000, it had multiple offers and ended up selling for $625,000. If you are looking for a similar property please email or give give me a call for a quick chat to help guide you in the right direction.
@@RandyBable Thanks for the info. I guess prices are booming everywhere.
Looks like the lake is drying up
the lake is dammed and managed by the Tennessee Valley Authority to allow for the winter run off. So think baseball season... the lake is full. Then they lower the water during the off season (winter months) until the next season. It's still one of the top bass fishing lakes in the States.
What is the Price?
Very nice! Do not like HOA communities
there is no water in that cove in the winter, the lake drains in the fall, they don't tell you that n look how steep to go up n down to go when there is water
Love it
Why do many realtors not include how much property the house sits on? If I'm looking for something on 5-10 acres, I don't want to have to look at properties that are on 1/4 acre.
Hi Kris, I put the price on the property website as it sometime changes and its a pain editing the video. Send me an email with your contact info and I'll find something for you.

@@deborahchesser7375 HI Deborah... depends on where you want to be. It will be a tough call around your major metro or tourist hot spots like Gatlinburg, but a bit further out there may be a couple of options. Best to give me a call or email me and we can work on it.
I will take it. How much?
Hi Lou... this property was listed for $545,000 and sold after multiple offers at $625,000. I have another lakefront cabin on Douglas Lake coming up. The water level is really low...
But the pool was full.
Nice until you showed those bears. I had enough of bears in Alaska
Just get out of your car a shoo them away. ;-)
Bears stay more in pigeon forge wooded area and more likely in public in gatlinburg i live on lake douglas 36 yrs havent seen the first black bear down here..
@@sinastar5932 Not too many bears up that way... .and they are just black bears so not aggressive, unless you come between mama and her cubs. Then as long as you can run faster than whoever is next to you, you should be fine. =-)
@@RandyBable lol
@@RandyBable Very true. They even run if you chase them.
How much does it cost?
This went on the market for $545,000 and sold for $625,000.
That is way too much
It's not REALLY on the lake, though, is it?
yes Cathy, it is right on the lake. The level is low at the time of the video though because it was at end of season after TVA drains the dammed lake down substantially to allow for winter snow and rain run-off.
Water is drying up?????
No... at that time of filming it was the end of the yearly drain of the lake (as it's dammed) by the TVA. The do this as a flood control measure. It is then filled up from early April through to the end of October.
Well it looks like the lake is down you can see the bath ring so the other pictures of the lake must have been years ago. Every lake is drying up, I live in Arizona and lake Mead I’d down 145 feet. It won’t be long before there is no water for the cabin. Sorry but I’ll pass.
Hi Michael, this lake level is regulated by the TVA and is lowered each winter season to allow for runoff from snow and rain and then each spring is is filled back up again. No worries about lake water levels in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.
Is this out on flatcreek?
Other side of the peninsula. I need to mark this one as SOLD as well as it closed last week.
@@RandyBable oh ok thanks and congrats
But you don’t tell us the price 🤬
Hi Flor... the price is always listed on the website as it may change and saves editing the video. FYI, this one sold for $625,000. If you are in the market for a cabin please let me know and I'm happy to help out.
I wouldn't call that 'lakefront'
It must be free.
Price is $269,600
List price was $545,000. Sold for $625,000 after multiple offers.
They spelled the street wrong but that’s ok.
I’m in SoCal, sell real estate aad this price is cheeeeap.

No price
This was listed for $545,000 and went under contract almost immediately upon listing and sold for $625,000. Beautiful cabin.
And cabin will Throwing A Bigfoot Too,
Is this an HOA ?
Hi Caryn... there is an HOA in this cabin community. Please send me an email or give me a call and we can have a quick chat and I'll answer any other questions you may have.
Catch big o fat tires lol
Lake sure looks low in water
Lake is part of a managed dam. They start filling at end of April and then lower again at end of October I believe to allow for winter snowfall melts and rain. It seems to make sense to the powers that be.
Typical salesman. Never mention price, get em on the hook first, then the hard sell
Sorry Bob... don't put the price in the video in case it changes and I then have to go back and re-edit and upload a new video... FYI, this one listed for $545,000 and sold after multiple offers for $625,000. Let me know if you are looking for property her tin the Smokies and I'm happy to help out.
Just list the price. Everybody knows that's a gimmick. We'll tell you the price after we feel you out and make the most money. The price one person gets will change with another. I've been shopping around for a few months and always stay away from this scheme. Good thing about a free market is your competitors do tell you the price. Back to them......lol
No gimmicks. Price is on website which is linked at end of video and in video comments. Price may change and would require video editing and re-uploading. FYI this cabin sold for $625,000 after multiple offers. I'm here to help should you be serious about purchasing a property in the Smoky Mountains.
@@RandyBable it's definitely worth that, beautiful property!
Low tide? 🤣
Filmed at the end of TVA management period where they reduce the water level to allow for winter run off. Period of reduced levels at Douglas Lake is from end of October to end of May.
HOA ,no thanks
I live in California and I’m a general contractor and I’m looking to move to Tennessee this is a property that I’m looking for similar to it but I would rather have a ranch style house one story if you could please get back to me with your phone number and we can talk and I would love to move to Tennessee and have you as my realtor
Hi Conrad... happy to help you out. I may recommend that you first have a look at my 10realty.net web site to see what properties are currently active here in the Smokies. The market is extremely hot at the moment and if they are listed at the right price they are going under contract pretty quickly after they list. Then touch base with me via my web contact page and I can get a better idea of the styles of homes you are looking for from what you have searched and discuss your plans on relocating outside of this public forum.
I’m a general contractor and I’m looking to start my business back up in the area I just needed a place where there’s going to be enough population around to have an active business and a steady income and I’m looking for some acreage preferably on a lake or a river with an existing home and I’m gonna be coming out there in about a month to look around I’m not sure what areaThat I want to be located in but I think it’s from the middle Tennessee to the east to Johnson City is where I’d like to be
Oh and I’m a veteran so I’ll be using my VA if possible purchase a home
