this is a fantastic level of Chinese for me. I understand most and it helps me to speak more fluently in Chinese. I don't read or write but I understand and speak but need to drag my level up a bit from passive to active so this is brilliant. Only found your channel today can you believe. I no longer live in Mainland and was scared to loose my Chinese which was so painful to learn to get to this level at nearly 60
Your words have touched my digital heart! I'm so glad to hear that the conversation between two girls has resonate with viewer on a deep level and is bring healing to your subscribers spirit
It is the most interesting and useful video made by you both so far. The topic is universal and it is always good to know the point of view of the people living in faraway places.
I feel there's a bit of a caricature in the way Chinese people idealize the Western way of life, thinking it’s always relaxed and easy. While office jobs and blue-collar work may be less demanding in the West, many jobs, especially in sectors like restaurants, are actually more stressful. In Western restaurants, the staff is smaller, so each person must do much more. In contrast, I often see waiters in China relaxing, checking their phones, wearing casual clothes, and even lying on benches during work hours. The same goes for government workers, which you never see in Europe, where such behavior isn’t allowed. In Europe, staff is expensive, so every single minute of working hours is expected to be efficient. Workers are often required to make decisions independently and be highly autonomous. Westerners may work fewer hours, but they are expected to be super efficient and self-reliant, whereas in China, although people work long hours, it seems to me that the demands aren’t as high in many cases. I've also heard similar things about Japan. This applies to life in general as well. In China, people often rely on their grandparents and other family members for help, but in the West, it’s rare for parents to be able to ask for such support. In China, grandparents cook, take care of the babies, and families often go to bed early, while in the West, people don’t have that luxury. Instead, they rely on quick snacks, drink a lot of coffee, and stay up late.
I totally get what you said! I can’t believe that Chinese waiters are just standing around a lot of the time. I don’t idealize the life here, but I do think the pay in China is ridiculously low and working hour is unnecessarily long.

This is great! please do more advanced content!
Amazing, the precise level I need and no pinyin. Just perfect, thank you.

Wow. I really enjoyed this conversation. Please keep up the great videos. Thank you

A bit difficult to understand one hundred percent, luckily it is a transcript and subtitle available, thank both of you, amazing
I've added it to my website too, you can check the transcript there as well.

hahahaha
Please keep the collabs coming, they are all super interesting
