I remember being 14 years old when this album came out in 96 and being from the west coast it felt like the west coast rap was dominating everything and then you hear Tupac showing love to the west coast made it even stronger
Fun fact: This was originally Tha Dogg Pound's song. It's on youtube and it's cool but, PAC brought this to life! And yes, this is a Dr. Dre production
Okay so, Suge got Pac out of jail but Pac had to agree to make an album in a short amount of time. All Eyez On Me was the album that he made. It took like 2 weeks to make this. When he says “Shoulda never put my rhymes with Dre” (talking about Dre’s beats with Pacs lyrics)
All eyez on me was a double disc album & the first 5 or 6 songs on disc 2 went hard & this song was one of them. You should check Shorty wanna be a thug, Holla at me & Wonda why they call you bytch. They're all off disc 2, but the whole album was good. Dope channel amigo.
As a producer and rapper, I cant stand it when people listen to music with one headphone. Most producers mix in stereo, therefore they have panned particular instrumentation and adlibs to the left or the right slightly or in full. So, if you only listen with one headphone, you are missing a certain amount of the mix. This is especially important when listening Pac because he layers his vocals on top of each other more than anyone, so some are panned left some right. Not so much in this particular song because it was mixed by Dre. lOVE BRO!
Pac did a motif scheme off word see, most people didn't catch cause they couldn't C him, Pac Legend!
Great song by the greatest
