Watching these old review videos in 2018 makes me realize that there is no perfect phone. Just enjoy the phone you have if it does everything you need it to do.
God how time flies remember being super excited in getting the Galaxy S on launch, as it was my first Android phone. At the time i thought it was massive because of the 4" screen, and i loved both the camera & video recording at 720p at the time aswell, got some of my best memories using both the camera & video on the Galaxy S. I had them all since now with recently purchased Galaxy S4, but the Galaxy S will always be one of my most memorable smartphone purchases as i loved that phone.
This was my VERY first smartphone, after owing the Sony Ericsson Equinox (A flip...but an awesome flip). I swore my Ericsson was the best thing ever, and NOBODY on planet earth could tell me otherwise- then I got this phone and was like WOOOW! I then moved on the S2, skipped the S3, had an S4, then ditched the S line altogether for my first Note (3 and 4) Now I'm on the Note 5 (bcuz the 6 never existed) and I refused to get the 7 (for obvious reasons) and am now waiting for the note 8 (rumored to come equipped with a 6.4 inch 4K display 😨😨) to drop later this year! Can't beileve how far technology has come, and how awesome smartphones have gotten over the last 6-7 years.
SuperCooled Mine kinda had a rough life: I replaced the power key with a piece of wood glued to a rubber ribbon after I lost it... It doesn't have a single screw, I used it as two phones (got 2 mainboards), changing back and forth every now and then (guess how I lost the power key). The camera glass is gone. The frame is now grey as the paint went off. Soft keys are lit, but unresponsive. But, indeed, it runs Android 6. It's been sittin in my drawer for the past 2 years, but I still turn it on sometimes. And it's weird, but the design is incredibly timeless and kinda perfect imho. Sorry to bother
SAMSUNG GALAXY S (the i9000 or s1).. Peeps remember this is the very phone which launched the era of the samsung "s" range... In 2010 when launched took samsung & android to new heights. This phone is the mother of the "s" range, without the s1 and it's success there would not have been any s4 s5 etc etc. The King is still alive 👑, long live the s1 i9000.. # I still have my smashing galaxy s, running kitkat 4.4.4.. Yes you heard me right kitkat 4.4.4.. Yes a custom rom - using the app multi-rom, as per mood swing it's either 'Slimkat rom or Mackay rom' 💃
Recently got this phone...it's amazing, sooooo glad i didnit get an iphone. Very thorough review here for anyone looking at a new phone. Thank you for this post, reassured my feelings about the quality and showed me things i didn't know before.
