This is truly delicious. Thought it might be too sweet, but it's not. The only change I made was to use amaretto in place of armagnac as I cannot find armagnac and I thought the flavor profile would work with the marzipan. Thank you for this recipe and the great video!
I'm keen on learning more about baking, but Filo just doesn't exist in my country :( I think there's even a second pre-made dough in the OTK book I can't get
Let us know where you live, we'll try and think of an alternative. You're also welcome to email us at otk@ottolenghi.co.uk, we can answer questions directly.
Hi Susan, we use fan-assisted ovens in our recipes which increases the actual oven temperature by about 10-20°C. As this function isn't widely available in North America, the conversion is actually for 190-200°C which is 375°F approx. We hope that's helpful and thank you for keeping an eye!
@@Ottolenghi Oh wow, I made the same mistake as carlisle did with the conversion. IMO it would be helpful to list the temperatures as fan/no-fan (even if you list one unit for each cooking mode).
I like how they always say the substitutions - if you don’t have prunes use figs etc makes for a fluid cooking experience!
Hi all! Big fan of you here from Greece. I have a request: Pleaaaase give us an olive oil pie crust recipe
There is a Greek cheese pie that was called roughly, clothes washing. Same phylo set up as your pie.
Happy Birthday Noor, from NYC.

Great substitution idea!
You may want to try calvados or cognac next time, it really brings out the flavour of the apples. I think the amaretto changes the taste quite a bit
Happy Birthday!!

Just too late? 😂 Ask at your turkish grocery shop.
In the recipe, the temperature conversions from C to F are incorrect. 180°C is 355°F approx. and so on.

It looks like the croustade from the Gascogne but no raisins in those...
