My friend is the example for this podcast :). I studied english in school with error correction, I knew more words but I couldn't speak. My friend spoke wth errors, but more quickly and easy. Now he knows 4 languages perfectly, I speak only Russian and English.
I decided to focus on listening and now i can speak and I don't think about rules. May be I make mistakes but fo me understanding is more important :)
    Thanks A.J. !!!

I agree. By listening and reading a lot, we can achieve a good level of English. Grammar, idioms, expressions and pronunciation come naturally. You are awesome. By the way, that was what I did with Spanish, and it did work. English is a horse of a different color, but I try to do the same.
I was shocked by the teacher's correction at the beggining. The kid must've felt terrible about English. Anyway, thank you for making this show. It should get more views. :)

Yeah, I totally agree with you. Here in Brazil is the same thing, the teacher seems like robots trying to correct every single one mistake. It is ridiculous. So, thanks for the video, that was really nice and encouraging for me :). Thanks.

This is the greatest video I've ever watched. Language is a tool for comunication, everyone makes mistakes, so no need to care to much. Error correction is often happens in school classes, that's true. That's why students failed with their English in school

Poor little boy:(( English trauma forever...
A.J., thank you for your method, it`s amazing! Because of you and your method, I became an English teacher and I try to implement your ideas. Sometimes it`s not easy to NOT correct students` mistakes, because I`ve been taught in this way. But I always stop myself. And my students become more and more confident. They start to like English, it`s incredible! Thank you so much!!!

Great video. This is what teachers do and I think that they seed that teaching style through the generations of any language learner. As you said a lot of guys quit learning because they think that they are unable to speak or write correctly. Love your videos

Let your students tell stories in English, with a video camera. Brain to adapt and training neurons also need different voices. This is also important for the development and habituation to different voices.

As usually nice and interesting topic. If the English learning is not fun it'll be very frustating that hapened with me in high school when the English teacher made me a lot of time stupid and this embarasing followed me accross the many years. Now, in this moment I listening and read books because I want and I'm not interesting about tests or grades. All this have been hapen with AJ support.

Thanks for your video! I have to pass IELTS in 3 month and now I am doing my preparation course. I suppose you know about the specific of this test. I have to use difficult cleft sentences which I usually do not use in my life. So it is a challenge for me to remember at least a couple of them and answer the examiners question using “nerd speech”. Could you give me a piece of advice according to that? Thank you in advance.
