Note, Wagner's Opera takes from both the Germanic and the Nordic version of the tale, though mainly the Nordic, hence why the 2 sound so different lest anyone's wondering.

Random comment: President Reagan, when watching his weekly White House film watch, was convulsed with laughter at the Reagan jokes in Back To The Future. Allegedly, the projectionist had to rewind at a couple of points because Reagan laughed so much he missed the next 30 seconds.
NB whilst most remember the doc's joke about "who is the president in 1985" there were multiple visual gags before this like the IRL 1955 Reagan movies being shown in town cinema. Reagan appreciated these gags.

There is a Soviet film titled "Alexander Nevsky," which played an analogous role in Soviet propaganda right before the onset of World War II. It may be of particular interest to you.

Gary Cooper in The Bengal Lancers was another favourite. He adored the British Empire and never wanted a war with Britain. People tend to convientley forget that Britain declared war on Germany first. He had little choice because of Polish attacks on ethnic Germans in the Danzig corridor. Ect. The Soviet invasion of Eastern Poland was ignored by warmonger Chamberlain.
