Very frustrated...I am not an experienced developer and I am using iTerm2 on my MAC to try and access my new EC2 instant and everything works fine up to the point where I enter the chmod 0400 line. When I then enter ssh -i with my private key and ec2-user@host command, instead of letting me into my EC2 new instance, I getting a "Permission denied (publickey)" It is as though the chmod 0400 command has changed the Private key to a Public key, making it totally useless.
Ok I solved my problem, I was connecting to a second computer, I created the key pair on one computer, and then I tried to use same one on other, I prob suck at explaining but if U tried to do 2 pcs what worked for me was transferring the pem file from one pc to other via messenger
Hi Stephene Maarek i am unable to connect my EC2 machine ssh: connect to host IP port 22: Connection timed out in my security group no issue is there. public IP is not generated while iam creating EC2 machine
from where I have to run the shown command to access the AWS Linux instance. I am unable to login into my AWS Linux instance, I tried all the mentioned commands to run from my windows power shell.
He's using a private key. Any ssh outlets such as git bash, mobaxterm, Powershell... should work. A tip is to open your private key folder with a ssh outlet directly so you don't have to worry abt cd into the right file.
What about adding a visual element over SSH? Could you walk through the steps of doing that? to be able to see your AWS operating systems desktop - thanks good video
HOW DO I DOWNLOAD THE PEM FILE ON MY MAC. I'M clicking download but nothing comes up. No PPK, nothing. I'm in a aws class and I need to download these files to do the lab. Is there a way I can fix it?

in my security group no issue is there. public IP is not generated while iam creating EC2 machine
what iterm theme are you using, I've always wanted to be able to highlight the working dir on terminal
If you dont have static IP for ec2 and you reboot server you still have to grab new ip correct?
Nice!!
thank you stephan

Is this the private or public AWS key you're using in the video? Where did you ssh from? Inside your project? Inside the .ssh folder?
He's using a private key. Any ssh outlets such as git bash, mobaxterm, Powershell... should work.
