  • moisture inside molded fiberglass trailers can be quite a problem. There are really only 2 ways for moisture to get into a trailer - either condensation of moisture in the air on the inner surface to the insulation, or penetration, where rain, snow or other water source makes it's way through an opening. Luckily, with molded fiberglass trailers this is minimized, as the only openings are usually the windows, the belly band, the roof vent, and any vents or openings for water, electrical, or fridge or heater venting.
    In this video, I explain how to remove and reseal the Hehr aluminum windows usually used in older molded fiberglass travel trailers.

    I would suggest anyone tackling this when replacing the wood, cover it with a product called redguard. It completely waterproofs the wood. I did 4 Coats of redguard on the wood framing. 6 years later no issues, still going strong.
