I mean he's 30 years old physically but 20 years old mentally and spiritually. He died so young. And all those time the four of them spent together was truly his entire life. I did not expect the ending to be such a tragedy even though I know Luna and Noctis' souls are finally together in the spirit world.
4 years later, and this scene still gets me. I suppose you could say I too made my peace with the ending of the game, but this scene-- this one damn scene --and 'Stand By Me' playing afterwards. That was rough. That was a real misty-eyed ending credits for me.
This scene broke me. I think SE wasn’t aiming for a power fantasy with this game, they were aiming for a story of family and friendship. It was hit and miss in retrospect, but this scene - a masterpiece.
And the voice acting deserves a true medal. Noct’s voice broke like a man trying everything he could to hold it in while being truly honest. It was, in short of a better word, beautiful.
My boyfriend and I were taking turns with our ps4 (while somehow keeping spoilers to a minimum) and I finished this game the night before him. I teared up a little, sure, but it wasn’t until I watched the cut scenes a second time as he finished the game that I ugly cried-and ,oh, was it ugly. 😂 This scene is my favorite in video game history. Hands-down.
I put 197 hours into this first playthrough, so much investment in each and every one of them. After watching this cutscene, I havent teared up this much since the ending of death stranding.
I wish from the bottom of my heart that they’d make a FFXV were it have a good ending plus going out with the boys after the 10 years skip. Just imagine the boys in Noctis weeding standing there for him in his happiest day in his life. The only game that made me cry my heart out.
I loved this game the characters the story and all the little add ins this part tho had to take a break after for real the game is special even more when you play it with people special to you irl really brings home the whole journey o life with your mates thing the game went so hard for
