with all the gore in the show I think they could've censored it a bit less. On my first watch I saw that he was missing his entire lower half but a lot of people seemed to have missed it. A big blood stain probably would've been enough.
I love how you genuinely have no idea whats happening besides whats being shown. I wish i could watch it for the first time. Just know just about all questions will be answered in time by the show and there's going to be some good questions it will put in your head. Im here for this mate keep it up❤.

there's an important theme in that scene where Mikasa threatened the merchant which ties in with Eren committing murder to save her: might makes right - which is a very authoritarian way of thinking, though it was the moral thing to do given the circumstances shown in this episode. i just thought to highlight this due to events much much later in the series.

The troupe of rich people being fat is that they can afford it. They arnt meant to kill titans or use ODM gear, be phycially fit because they have money and power to sit on their ass, ear, and not have to worry about a titan invasion
