Zaranyzerak I would finish The Video Dead because it does get a lot better towards the end. It does have a very boring first half, I completely agree with that and horrible acting lol.
I will eventually. I just drifted away and didn't get back to it, no particular reason, I didn't intend to not watch it. Just wasn't in the right mindset at the time I guess.
A lot of those Scream Factory releases are pretty expensive with the slip covers on Ebay, definitely hang on to those! They finally released another transfer of Predator on 4K and I've heard good things about as well.
Other than the prestige packaging with the beautiful slip covers, are the actual screen factory transfers better than the regular blu rays?
It varies, there' isn't a hard and fast rule about that. But yes, very often that will have newer/better transfers than the older releases. They always mention on the packaging if it's a new transfer. Otherwise it's the same as the regular release. They don't do their own remastering, they use whatever transfers are provided by the studio. So if the studio provide a newer transfer, then in that case it's better. Synapse on the other hand almost always does a new transfer of the films they release, and they do their own remastering as well.

The end of Sleepaway Camp is legitimately one of the craziest endings to a horror movie of all time. I highly suggest anyone & everyone who hasn't seen it. See it.
Maybe I missed it but do you own or have you ever seen Lucio Fulci's: Zombie? Really cool spaghetti-horror with a great theme song. Iconic zombie makeup as well.

Zaranyzerak That's a beautiful Scream Factory collection you have there, I need to start buying more of these! There's also a cabal cut of Nightbreed on blu ray that I own that was released last year for a very limited run, it's 30 minutes longer than the DC and much better IMO. The theatrical cut I just own on DVD and it's losing it's popularity with me since I now own the superior cuts lol. I have From Beyond on blu ray but it comes in the Empire Pictures box set that came out last year and it has different cover art. Ghost Town was surprising decent, it also came in the Empire set. Howling 2 isn't that bad IMO but I wouldn't say it's a good movie either.
John carpenter is my all time favourite director, have yet to see a film of his that disappoints me.

Um...never? The odd overview or spotlight on those pats of my collection maybe, but otherwise no plans.
You mention from time to time feeling old when you look at some of these “older” films and say you saw them in the theatre. I’m with you there. (I’m 44) and I saw so many of the sci-fi/fantasy flicks you showed here when they were first released. Dreamscape, Swamp Thing, Dreamscape, EFNY, even MetalStorm in terrible 3D.
Dreamscape has moments that kept me up at night as a kid.

Sad fact about the burning movie..it was Co-written and created by Harvey Weinstein before the allegations happen years later on.
Many other people worked on writing, creating and filming that movie; and also Shout!'s Blu-ray transfer (which is great!).
When are you gonna do an review of Tales from the Hood. Tales from the Hood is one of the latest releases from Scream Factory
