It was already a concept in the canceled YF-23. It was supposed to carry a 'barrel' of AMRAAMs behind the cockpit which rotated the same way. The complexity of it was actually a concern, more than a feature.
Tbf this one is LOADED with scripts for it to do any of that. Scripts handle the rotary launcher rotation, missile lockon, release, guidance, wings deploying, and detonation I just build some overcomplicated contraption to make use of all the phenomenal scripts made by much better creators
Best part is it's got some real LRASM capabilities too There's a sea skimming mode, a top down attack mode, and can be locked on and guided in by a much smaller aircraft, when the firing aircraft is well out of enemy threat range, and beyond visual range firing too
Dude that’s sick af! I’m assuming this uses scripts to work based off the fact that the missiles are flying towards the exact same area on the target over and over. If it was using the AI blocks it would targeted specific blocks if I’m not mistaken.
@@imitablerain3983 it's a camera based raycast script (LAMP) for lock on that can be done from the shooter aircraft or any aircrafts within antenna range. It has a few guidance modes. An SACLOS mode that works like a TOW missile where the missile goes where the camera is pointing, and you can slew the camera mid flight to change its flight path A fire and forget mode where you lock, fire, and the missile will handle the rest. So you can lock, fire. Switch target by pointing your designator camera at something else, lock fire. For low effort video reasons I just keep shooting the same spot, but I could also shoot 16 missiles at 16 different targets if I want to. But filming in SE is hard enough already lol
It's just Whip's rotor control script from Git, triggered at the same time as a LAMP fire command with a timer block, repeated 16 times and loops back around
I NEED THE SCRIPT FOR THE ROTOR Im trying to build sort of a rotary fighter storage and i need a script for making rotors rotate in increments which one do you use?
That's the point. The missile got friggin wings. You'd think the impracticality aspect would be screaming in your face loud enough for you to comprehend that.
space engineers is a game that is in large part about making exaggerated and obviously impractical stuff, this is practical to use though if you want it to be. My computer can run 10 million PCU @@JudahDavis
@tequilasalad1535 The limited pcu limit, especially on servers, prevents space engineers from being a breathing universe. Which is fine, since they are making a second game.
@@borischung01 Sorry I conflated you with another creator and thought I had already been through your catalog of videos. I checked out your palletized system. Good work.
Bro I can't even build a ship that doesn't go over energy or survive in survival so explain to me how tf ppl be making custom rocket launchers n9t even the rocket launcher the rocket flies better than my ships
Wings are a useless over complication of the missiles design, Programming of the seeker needs work to insure it will not just pass through the same hole over and over. The missile barely clears the bottom of the ship at launch so that limits maneuvers during launch. Over all design of the deployment mechanism seems sound but ultimately the more complex it is the higher the chance of failures or being disabled. Interesting though and looks fantastic.
Very nice.
One of the best missile designs I have seen too.
aren't those wings useless? vanilla space engineers doesnt have aerodynamics
@rusername : He is an aesthetic builder, and it looks like he was going for something which looks like a JASSM or LRASM.
This is way too cool. Ship as well
Nobody:
Lockheed Martin: write that down write that down!!! ✍️ ✍️
isn't it already a thing?

Dude you consistently have dome of the coolest shit ive ever seen in my 3k hours of this game i could never do stiff like this
The missiles look like chubby little storm-shadows.
this one of the coolest things i have seen in SE
I'm paradoxically not surprised and surprised at the same time. But, I am overall dumbfounded.
Everytime I build something that I find cool, some guy on UA-cam will humble me in 56 seconds... what a build!

@@borischung01 ah... scripts 🤤 I play on console. 🙄 some day ill build a pc specifically for this game...
Congratulations, you successfully built a atmospheric BAL from Honor Haringgton Saga.
This is really cool.
Although I dread what will happen to the attacking ship on a server with sufficient lag...
Bro made fucking LRASMs in space engineers and the mechanism B-2 bombers use to drop their munitions if im not mistaken. Props to you dude.

That’s what I figured. I’ve seen the LAMP script used on multiple older builds such builds that were part of the water mod.
amazing i loved the landing gear
That thing is awesome!
How to reload, refuel and print?
That's really cool
Any chance of a workshop link? I’d like to scale it up for a build I’m working on and I’ve been having trouble making a rotary launcher work

Whips rotor script on Git
now do a riff on rapid dragon
100% cool
100% impractical
Waw amazing
It's cool, but mann it's too expensive.
the entire thing is hilariously impractical and excessive
Dope
Link?
That will be 3 million PCU
Probably 100k max
@tequilasalad1535 I'm exaggerating, obviously, still impractical.

+1
GodDAMN that is very efficient ans well made AND aestethically beautiful.
Whats funny is the fact that I saw this exact video on reddit yesterday
How about a rapid dragon?
Made one already. Previous video

Also its pretty sick 😊
What about making one automatic building thing so that it builds a new missile then rotates an empty spot to build a new one
could. but the gimmick of this one is the entire missile rack gets swapped out. plug and play, 2min reload procedure
how do you controll the rotation of those hinges and pistons (doors and missile fins) so precisely?
Whip's Rotor Angle Controller script on git
hi, let's play when there are discounts in the steam and I'll buy this game?
Live fire demonstration would be dope,
Need a tutorial for the missle and launcher that was way sick
now imagine firing the entire rotor cassette as its own missile.
Dude made an LRASM for space
Reminds me of that one shot from Stealth
Outstanding work.
Looks like a Taurus

@hung01 THEN IT'S BEEN A GRAND SUCCESS!!!! Congratulations sir!! Here is to the next projects inevitable success =D
try making that jericho missiles from ironman mate i wanna see how much damage it can do
This on mod io?
No. Requires scripts to function. Steam only.
