Thanks for covering Suika Shapes (free version/demo). It's pretty out of date because I've been working exclusively on the Steam version for a few weeks. I released the full version on Steam today and would be happy to send you guys some keys for it once my key request is filled by Valve. It has a lot more features than the web version. (also you can rotate the shapes in both versions) Based on feedback I also added a mode where each color corresponds to a specific shape, it's live on the Steam version now (11/29). There are 14 shape types, 4 modes, and 5 modifiers you can apply in any combination. Also quick warning, the music on the web/itch version should be okay to use in a video but I cannot guarantee it. The Steam version has original music and will not cause any trouble
Any plans for colorblind mode where maybe instead of little faces there is a number? So smallest has a 1, next up has a 2, etc. So you know that you just need to combine 4 to 4.

As someone who worked in a restaurant for a long time, I promise you, the Hostess was probably well aware that your waitress was stoned, and if she did seem annoyed it really wasn't at you guys and she was annoyed with the waitress. As long as you were nice about it, the hostess probably didn't care you kept coming to her.
I'm going to be sad once this year ends. This year with gold has really helped me out in my last year for college. It's been the worst year in college and in life so coming home each day to this has helped when times haven't been the best. I look forward to next year even if things are so uncertain right now.
I'll miss the daily uploads but to be fair that means were probably gonna go back to them uploading a 5 hour video every month or so and the daily uploads have made me miss those longer videos alot. Having so many daily uploads have made me miss those times when I would see a Alphard Gold notification. Then click it and saying to myself yep that's gonna be the whole afternoon and just leaving it to play in the background as I just live my day. I feel like that negotiation twist in the honeycomb game would, ironically, actually work a lot better in the real show if the honeycomb game had happened in a later episode. When the stakes are who lives and who dies and we’ve had time to get to know the characters and have them form bonds with each other the negotiation would be brutal with some people killing their entire group out of spite and others being willing to take a much greater risk for the others they know in their group. In the game show format it doesn’t really work as well because the stakes aren’t as high (which seems to sum up most of the reality show in general).
From my understanding, the "good old college try" saying comes from college being a place you can experiment with yourself because you are finally going on your own.
Game: Literally has faces drawn on the shapes to make it playable for colourblind people. Alpha: If I'm colourblind I'm fucked. ... And also, you can just, tell from size? Although it's gonna be slightly hard with different shapes of similar size, or rather would be, without the faces. The one thing is that the sidebar guide could've had shapes drawn on it though.
I think this needs a few extra features to really work: - low friction pieces (maybe friction can be randomized too or maybe just everything is low friction) so moving stuff around still works - either randomized initial rotation - or controllable initial rotation (it doesn't matter for circles but certainly for anything else) - maybe have shapes of constant diameter which can roll but aren't circles

Knowing the faces=colours is game changing. I'm an artist and generally consider myself good at telling colours apart but the bottom and mid red kept tripping me up.
It'd be nice if there was a Suika-like with those geometric shapes we played with as kids, Triangle->Square->Rhombus->Skinny Rhombus->Trapezoid->Hexagon, and maybe add circles/rectangles/stars/etc to fill out the remaining shapes.

I'm not defending the Squid Game Challenge show (even though I do enjoy it), it's not a really a game show. It's a social experiment. It's very clearly a social experiment under the guise of a game show. The point of it is see how people compromise their morals or character for a life changing amount of money. That's why there's such a focus on the things in-between the competitions. I think the marketing team dropped the ball hard on it. I also don't think the people that got on show were told properly to understood what they were signing up for. It should've have been advertised as a game show, but a social experiment with a cash prize. I also think that any of the controversy or finding the way the contestants were filmed and presented as being gross and unwatchable are valid.

Blue I guess they didn't want to merge with the background, but like... The background is changeable and will overlap with one of the colours for most options. Edit: in fact it started off as purple BG with purple shape. They definitely could've had a light blue and a white instead of the second red/orange
Maybe I'm speaking heresy but I think this would benefit from being able to rotate your pieces. Like with the hexagons I think you could get some extremely satisfying combos if if you could just twist them and stack them into a pattern

I think the worst part of that squid game challenge is like. You could so easily make it where people don't know which line they're getting in. Like in the original the characters didn't know what the next game was so they didn't know what to make of the shapes and accidentally screwed themselves by getting in the line for the umbrella without the context they need to know its a bad choice. But for this one like they know the people are all going to be familiar with the source material, but because they're so dead set on maintaining the visuals people know in the hopes of banking on the "remember this" factor of it they refuse to make the games more interesting

I can actually provide insight into why every game has a day 1 patch! It helps them push the game out a little bit quicker, since they can put the game onto a cartridge without having to worry about it being fully complete, implement bug fixes, and then distribute that through a patch, which can help a game come out months quicker
The red light green light game was actually hours long. With some people saying it was up to 9 hours long. Every time they’d stop, they’d stop for 30-40 minutes.
I think my favourite reality game show is The Apprentice. I just love seeing people who claim to be amazing business people, yet they struggle to do basic things. Like the time a guy tried selling fishcakes to a vegan restaurant or when one team paid a lot of money for a boat and the other team paid like a fiver for a blow up boat.
It will never not be hilarious that a UA-camr beat a multi-billion dollar corporation to the idea, did it with less time and way less money, isn't getting sued for injuries, and did it better.
Can we also highlight that Red Light, Green Light apparently took 8 hours to film in a warehouse in -2 Celsius, 28F. A contestant said they would be on red light for 45 or so minutes, I guess to 'kill off' the contestants and film different reactions. Apparently a good few people fainted, and paramedics were on scene. Real life squid game for real for real.

If it makes you feel better, they also called Draco Malfoy "the blonde boy" and "I'll call him Jeremy" in this same episode. I see your point but I genuinely don't think pronunciation is the issue with these two lol

Each colour had a specific face which helps colour blind people & may be easier to focus on when doing the random shapes

The colors are based off of suika game in the web version (it's outdated). In the steam version all shapes have different colors now
