Concept design artist Peter Han judges entries submitted by the Proko Community for the September Proko Challenge! Artists were tasked with creatively merging inspirations from a variety of pre-selected reference images into one sketch. please dont give too much vague challenge prompt next time. set a clear certain specifications and technical boundaries of the deliverables, like a real work brief, bcos i think that would be more beneficial for art learning experience. in this challenge, one's interpretation of "sketch" is too broad.. and we can see most of the winners here are finished and polished artworks. well, again, at least for me.
I feel like the word "sketch" was a bit too vague considering everyone defines what a sketch is differently from one another. I only bring it up because Peter mentions the importance of fully rendering and detailing the images at one point during the video, but to a lot of people a sketch doesn't include that type rendering. So I feel like a lot of people potentially missed an opportunity to win or at least even critiqued. I'm not necessarily meaning to complain but I do feel like it's something to consider in the future. Still learned quite a lot from this video and listening what Peter had to say. I very much look forward to the next challenge
I kinda think the same way. I just did a fast inking of a rough pencil sketch and that's it. Some other people went hard.

I understand where you’re coming from but he’s also a professional so he probably has a different idea of a sketch. He did critique plenty of sketches in the video though not too many.

some people call complete drawings sketches for some reason
my idea of a "sketch" was very different from some people damn.. I should have fully rendered a done piece by my standards and put it in :P
Dont do that, remember "Peter doesnt look anything that looks like hyper rendered" -Proko :(
sketch is really what it sounds , my sketches are never complete but it’s the idea and energy. Something too refined isn’t a sketch for me
@@abiliogeremias5443 I dont think he was talking about hyper rendered pieces. I think he meant that his finished pieces look like the sketches of many of the participants (and i would guess the same people would call his sketches, as thumbnails or rough sketches)

I love your feedback, and I agree! I didn’t really know wether or not to keep them apart or bring them in closer.
I think if you added clouds in between them will also add to the separation
