I've bought week ago 2011 volvo v60 with the same audio system and what i can say that is incredible how it performs the sound quality and bass! This is the high performance audio system. I love it!
Got myself a 17’ with the 10 speaker system, crazy how deep the bass can get without a subwoofer. Those 6.5 door woofers pack a big punch! Lot of texture to the music too sounds like a guitar is right in the car with you

At first, I thought it had a subwoofer because of how good the bass was but after listening to some music that requires a subwoofer then I realized that it actually doesn't have one. Best default car audio system I have heard from that era of any cars I have ever owned. However nothing in comparison to a 2008 Chrysler that has a factory-installed amplifier & subwoofer.
Did these s60 models have two types of harman kardon speakers? Were the ones with the center speaker a different brand? How many types of speakers were available in the Volvo S60 II?
Hey i bought a 2008 volvo s80 t6 3.0 awd previous owner had instal 6.5 midbass 90 Hz frequens and i hear no bass at all in thinking to buy new midbass whit 40hz or 50hz frequens will that lower freq be more bass in my car? I can say that my car have 12 speakers dynaudio Dolby surround Dolby pro Logic 2 whit amplifier at 5x130w your car have the best bass system i ever heard 😉😉😉
Hopefully with the new cars they still rate their systems down to 20Hz like they did with our P2 cars with the High Performance or Premium Sound options. If you would like to hear the 11 speaker system, I have an unlisted video if you want to watch it.
there are no dolby surround setting , so it not volvo premium sound. if there is a amplifier onder the passenger front seat it is a volvo high performance sound system
Would it be worth it to upgrade to the Harman/Kardon door speakers? I'm thinking about doing it on my 2017 with the base system, which is good, but not great. Shockingly, it's just behind my 2006 S60 with the PA-300 and Premium Sound system.
I had that problem with some of my mp3 on my V60 (I guess audio is the same). I run these mp3s through LameXP with all settings set to max quality mp3 and now it is ok. Before that audio was just skipping files.
This is the worse way to set a system. UA-cam and Bluetooth audio compresses the 💩 out of music. Use Title or Apple master quality files. Via USB cable or audio cable.

@@sergiuzanoaga7551 Depending on what year and model you have, they are the same. I know some of the S80's with Premium Sound got Dynaudio speakers with Audessey tuning in an Alpine amp. The 2001-2009 S60 and 2001-2007 V70 got Harman Kardon speakers and amp, but with Audessey tuning in the head units, and your choice of 200w amp if you had 9 speakers or 300w amp if you had 11 speakers (separate 3 inch mids in the front doors and four 7.75 inch woofers split between the front doors and rear deck). I had a 2006 S60 T5 with the 11 speaker setup and I could barely stand the volume when I got the amp to distort. My limit was 3 clicks down from max, but by then it sounded better than the Audi Bose Symphony setup in an A6 of similar age.

Techscrew yup even the stock premium sound in my 850 was great and had BASS. Not something I expected from a car made in 1995

you cant bought 90Hz midbass, maybe it's presset for low cut filter? 60-70Hz is okay for the midbass, 40Hz is more for subwoofer.

You need more bass or midbass ?

The lowest grade sound system you can get on this car is a 160 watt high performance system. I think that's what this is.
It goes up to 650 watts with the premium one
