When I saw him for the first time - in Lucia from the Met - it was evident he was going to be one of the star tenors of our generation. This clip proves that. Wonderful !
I couldn't sing to save my Life, but it was this aria that made me decide to start learning russian, just to understand it beter!
I´m going to learn Russian just to sing this aria! It´s so beautiful! It's divine!

Wunderlich comes to mind.One of our best tenor voices. I saw LaBoheme and Lucia ,both with Netrebko in the Met and he was truly outstanding.
Ther ar e only 2 tenors who are touching my heart in this, one of the most beautiful tenor arias and they are Wunderlich and Beczala.

This aria sung by Piotr Beczala can be wached at "Opera - Eugene Oneguin (12/17)" at youtube. It is from Paris 2003. I like this production though the sound of the clip is not so good.

Olga was not mentioned; probably it has not been decided yet. I would see Elina Garanca (but maybe this role would be too "small" for her).
He is Polish, of course great, however check Viktor Afanasenko and the beautiful voice of Denis Korolev!

tylko taki Beczała zarabia na jednym spektaklu tyle, ile w Polsce przez rok solista na etacie.
Богатый тенор, давно мне уже так никто не нравился.
A great interpretation well in line with the Russian tradition (Sobinov/Lemeshev/Gedda). The pronunciation is very good with minor imperfections - not surprising from a Pole... I like Villazon better but Beczala is arguably closer to what Russian opera is supposed to sound like!
Piotr has beautiful voice, very good diction and dignified interpretation.
However for me the best ever Lensky is Sergej Lemeshev. Just ideal, incomparable ....
But this does not diminish this performance.Bravo!

Git, że zarzucanie "wstrętnej zawiści" obcej osobie jest ok :))) Powinnaś przeprosić i zniknąć, a nie truć mi dupę o wyimaginowanych problemach komunikacyjnych. Swoje imaginacje skonsultuj lepiej ze swoim lekarzem.

Poza tym - solisci na etatach - co to niby ma byc? Wy to macie wygodnie! Na zachodzie nie ma czegos takiego jak etatowy solista. Na etatach sa chorzysci i orkiestra.
Jest wielu Polakow spiewajacych za granica w najlepszych teatrach swiata - maja prawo do wysokich gazy - niby dlaczego nie? Wiesz ile zarabiaja glupie modelki, albo w branzy reklamy jakie chodza stawki- i to u nas w Polsce?!Na pewno nie wiesz. Dlaczego ogarnia was taka wstretna zawisc, ze swiatowego formatu artysta dostaje wysoka gaze?To jest i tak za malo, jak sie wezmie pod uwage specyfike tego zawodu.
