Im a big fisher and this is perfect for what I do. Plus, the material of the backpack will make it difficult for my hooks to snag into it. I appreciate the detail in your video!
Hey, I have the 15L, agree with some of your knocks in that I wish the laptop sleeve was better padded. Even with the added weight, I might like a bit more padding. It also did initially have that smell you mentioned so there is that too. Lastly, the position of top carry handle makes trying to use it to control the bag while attempting to open/close the bag a little cumbersome. I've had to adjust to using the side loops for this purpose but even using those is annoying given the small size of the loop whenever I'm carrying anything heavy. I find I have to put the bag down on a table or chair instead.
thanks for the comment, yea for sure. It was like a few design tweaks from being great! I love the company though, the owner reached out and sent the bags, so hopefully he sees the video and integrates into a V2.
We appreciate this feedback @infinity2x0! As far as the top handle, our Fogland 25L's have that top handle you're looking for - a really meaty, solid handle with carabiner attachment points to provide balance and control especially when twisting the backpack in/out of different storage areas/positions - it's one of the best features of the backpack. Whereas the 20L is meant to be a lightweight daypack/deckbag, our 15L serves to give that same submersibility, durability, and protection for your important devices - especially a laptop - while remaining affordable. Regarding the padded laptop sleeve, as they generally require a velcro closure, it was something we tried to stay away from, as that velcro tends to snag on items of clothing, fishing nets, camera sleeves, etc. We opted for the TPU sleeve welded directly to the back panel - to keep your laptop where it should be while remaining low-profile and out of the way. If the backpack still has that straight-from-the-factory smell, which can be a combination of the welding or TPU coating process, a quick hack is to leave a dryer sheet in the laptop compartment or mesh pockets for a day or two which helps clear that up. We hope you continue to find the Fogland useful for your adventures and we appreciate you took time out to write this - we'll take all of this into consideration for the future. Also, thanks for checking out Kyle's channel - we love his review style and appreciate the amount of detail and effort that goes into these reviews!
@@breakwatersupply I've since had more time with the bag and the smell has largely gone away so that's great. I'd like to add to my original review to say that the bag has served me well in the rain and gotten me plenty of compliments. I see you've been adding a few additional colors which is cool. Now I have to decide between getting the 20L or the 25L. I see that beefy handle on the 25L and it's appealing but that size might be a skosh too big. Any advice @EDG ?
@@infinity2x0 first, glad you're getting solid use out of the 20L! The Fogland 25L is a big bag and will definitely take you through a weekend of travel/adventure. Really depends on your usage, because the 25L also has a larger laptop sleeve, two lash tabs on the front (top and bottom) to hook up a tripod, fishing rod, etc., and also the front buckle strap is clutch for cinching down anything bulky or wet (shoes, jacket, towel). It's still relatively lightweight (just over 2lbs) and works well if you love to travel and if you generally find yourself carrying extra gear, like a change of clothes for gym/sports/beach, additional electronics, lunch/groceries, stuff for work, outdoor gear, etc.
Hi Emert, I wasn’t planning on it, as it’s exactly the same as the 20l except it doesn’t have side bottle pockets. I can answer any questions you have though.
Great review! I'm leaning towards getting the 25L white version of this bag after watching your video. By the way, I recently put together a 30-minute video where I went through all the top waterproof bags out there. If you're interested, take a peek. You might discover some new options you haven't seen before

Thanks for the comment! Dang I didn't even think about that!
Awesome review. I love the style of your channel. Getting ready to buy bags for a 2 month travel and want a 1 bag set up with a smaller day pack
Thanks so much! Ooo lemme know if you have any questions or want suggestions. I’ve made aoooo many bag reviews since this video
