USPS Converting 6,596 MHA to CAREER by AUG 14th

- A new Memorandum of Understanding just signed by the National Postal Mail Handlers Union and the Postal Service to provide for additional Mail Handler staffing, in large part by converting 6,596 Mail Handler Assistants to full-time regular career employment no later than August 14, 2021. Also attached is a chart listing the 245 facilities in which these 6596 conversions will take place and the number of conversions that will take place in each listed facility.

i started working in the plant on the july 29th & they converted me that same night!!!! it became effective on 7/31

Wow! My official start date was 7/31 and just finished orientation and will be on tour 3 tomorrow as an MHA. I hope hope hope I’m one of the 22 from my plant to be converted!!

Update: I was told last night while I was working that I am part of that list and I’m being converted. It made the 12hr shift well worth it 😂

Update! It took a while but as of the 28th of June, I’m a regular now! My MDO handed me my paperwork. My coworker that just started got converted too.
I really enjoy your videos and your good heart. ❤️Make sure you take plenty of vitamins daily. Drink low salt V8 and coconut water to stay hydrated. Look into fruit and vegetable smoothies for energy drinks.

Great video! Thank you for explaining we must know our rights! Let me just focus on being a lawyer. These bad jobs are bad for the pockets! I just wanted some steady income but they’re making it difficult to do so maybe I need to apply as a garbage dumpster person because it is really pointless to go through their hiring process take the exam, background and then be abused with orientation and processes! IRRESPONSIBLE IS WHAT THEY ARE AND INCOMPETENT.

I started as a PTF mailhandler made regular after 4 years.After 22 years I changed craft to Maintenance craft as custodian. After 5months I'm now a Maintenance Mechanic. I highly recommend people to look into custodian then on to Mechanic. I was offered 15 years ago but turned it down.I regretted that but never too late.Only have 6 years before I hit the clock for the last time.
Maintenance mechanic is the best, there was a time I thought about applying but I do not have the background experience. Congratulations to you and 6 years will come by fast.
Hi Marie, I hope you are taking your vitamins and drinking plenty of fluids. Please feel better. I received the conditional job offer on 7/15, did my fingerprints on 7/26. Now I’m just waiting for the next step. I applied on 7/7 here in Florida. Hoping to hear something back soon. My location is on that list so maybe I will be career before the 360 😂😂

@@m_v5460 I finally started here in Florida. I did a 3 day orientation the last week of August. Then they sent an email and gave a start date of November. A week after they sent an onboarding email date for last week where they gave us a schedule to start this week. I’m like really I made plans being that you all gave a start well for Nov. So I’m finally finishing up my first week. The hiring and start date were all over the place. Then today I got an offer for the PSE. 😩😩😩

Or will there be a wait after 90 day probation period is complete? I recently applied and received my conditional job offer letter for MHA. Yes it will if there is still a vacant position for MHA career. If not, you can start as a seasonal then pass the 90 days evaluation.
Cost of living too high for a government company to still be paying 16.50 for a mha in 2021

I Wonder if it means that my hire in processing since Aug of 2021 and just now Dec getting the orientation online .... means i fall under most likely a temp being they just hired fully all those persons .... or dose it mean i would also only have to wait the six month period ? i have a decent job now and good schedule i would be giving up for an uncertainty ...but i do want to be a postal full on worker so much for the benefits that might be offered to me .... but literally a gamble it seems

I accepted the seasonal PSE position and then got offered the MHA position it didn't say seasonal and I accepted it I'm hoping that isn't an issue and also I wonder does this apply to new hires or if this was something they were doing last year?

You can ask them. 1-2 years.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I had my orientation in one plant but got assigned to another.

I applied for pse job in 3 different locations. I already gave my fingerprint n Now i am waiting. My question is i have received another email today with job offer to accept and USPS conditional job offer, which is for another location. Do i have to give my fingerprint again?
No. But you got to inform them once they sent you the email to get a fingerprint done. Let them know you already did and give them the date and location you had it done.

Yes. I was offered another position by my former supervisor who have an integrity unlike the one who threaten to fire me after working too hard.

Hey, I apply for PSE I done my NASI and my fingerprint on July 16 which have been over a month now how long do it take and I also just got another offer for mail handing can I accept it or no but I really want the pse position they I’m not sure how long it take for a fingerprint to come back.
Hi Christian, it takes 2 months going on a normal process, except on peak season they will facilitate the hiring fast. Hang in there, your process time is normal.

Not much. You get the benefits.

You don't need to practice for that assessment, it's really easy. Basic common sense...
High Marie . Do you happen to know if there is a hiring freeze for Mail Handler position? I accepted a conditional job offer on 27 JULY and did both my fingerprints and background check on 29 JULY and was told that the post office requested my fingerprints on 17 AUGUST.
If all the positions are filled in the facility you are applying, they will stop hiring. That's why it's good to apply in different locations, that's what I did before.

Yes. They can do all the fingerprint and background check. If there’s an opening they will send you to orientation.
Did you apply in a busy city or in the suburbs?
@@MarieAdventure busy city New Orleans, LA . I applied for a Mail Handler Career position with benefits in July and got the conditional job offer on 26 JULY and did both my fingerprints and background check on 27 JULY. And haven’t heard anything from them. Just that there is a hiring freeze due to them having to convert there MHAs to career positions. But just today they had another listing for MHA in New Orleans. It’s just odd to me that they would be listing jobs but then say they have a hiring freeze.
What about CCA’s?

@@MarieAdventure 7001 S. Central Avenue. Worst part of LA. I asked Manager to transfer my application to branch where they won’t lay off within less than a month. She didn’t give me options. So I filed a complaint against them with OIG. They’re messing with Filipino woman here who is smart. I don’t play their games and they will pay for wrongfully offering me a job then changing it to “temporary”. The Orientation people turned me away because they said I wasn’t “on the list”, but I have an email confirmation from them. They will have to pay me for resigning my other job and also for not hiring me as permanent. What games does the USPS play?

Imagine showing up at 7:30 am then being turned away wrongfully then they don’t even pay me for the 3 days lost and also resigning from my other job a week early

Before it was 2-3 months now they are getting shorter depending on the need of the plant.
