Hello just a big thank you for sharing your stitches !!! It's always a good moment and a pleasure to watch you sewing 😊 The choices of the colors is great and works so well together, and the teal one is my fav I would love a tablecloth and matching sets like this 🥰🥰🥰😉👍 Bises from France 😘
I have recently gone down a ranbithole of blackwork, glad to see that I was not the only one noticing a similarity in the patterns. I am fascinated by both sashiko and blackwork.
I am so excited with starting with one element then playing by adding another until you have something that looks beautiful! You have truly inspired me as a beginner this just thrilled me. Thank you so very much. I really thought number 3 to be the point I was like wow look at how these are different yet cohesive and you just had a feel it needed more, and it worked beautifully. They look fantastic together and you do such stunning creating. Montana USA.
So interesting! I really liked the reverse of the first one and the innovative third one took me a minute to figure out. So well done. I do hope your friend loves these beauties🎉
Those finished coasters are beautifully done. It looks like the process was serene too! I’d love to see you take on blackwork. There are a lot of similarities to sashiko-style stitching. I’ve had a go at both (and chicken scratch on gingham) on my own channel if you’d like to see a fumbling attempt at them! 😂 I like the dynamism of the green and yellow pattern with diagonal stitches. They remind me of pinwheels!
@@thegreenwrapper thank you! I think this is the best blackwork one, but have a look through the videos to see if anything sparks your interest. ua-cam.com/video/1MndKWNmfy4/v-deo.htmlsi=7O54K9ndr1ScH_1k Im definitely *not* an expert, but its so good to share the processes and ideas, isn’t it?
I love this idea. I want to make a Japanese rice bag made up of these squares. I was thinking I would use a mixture of squares using your patterns to form each side and bottom of the bag. I haven't even mastered sashiko yet and come up with these grandiose ideas ❤😂
Hi! How about practicing on small pieces and make a small version of a rice bag? I have a video here😊 I made a super cute mini square drawstring bag with my slow stitch pieces! ua-cam.com/video/q4uP4jERd0k/v-deo.html
Thanks for walking us through your creative decision-making process, it's super helpful! I'm visiting Japan right now for a bit - do you have any favorite sashiko-supply stores you can recommend?
Hi! I just recently started watching your channel. It’s fascinating to watch you stitch, and you produce beautiful, yet also useful, items. I love your coasters very much! Quick question - do you use any kind of batting in between the top layer and the back layer of fabric? Or are they just the two layers, and the stitching by themselves? Thanks for sharing!
Hi, welcome to my channel😊 I used some thin interfacing on the linen. The stitched fabric became pretty thick so I didn’t need to add on anything on that side. I usually use a thicker material for the back panel instead of adding some interfacing. I think it really depends on the material you use and the pattern you stitch on it. I don’t know enough about batting but I feel they may be too thick for a coaster.
These are so cute. I’m just starting and can’t get a hold of the Sashiko needle. But I’m happy to do it slowly. I did some washcloths with old tshirts and I found that it’s harder to use tshirts bc the weave is tight. How can I use tshirts that would make it easier. What fabric did you use for this project? Thanks in advance for your help. ❤
Hi! T-shirt materials (knit fabrics) are woven differently and, generally speaking, not easy to stitch by hand. I have an old video about making Zokins with old tshirts but I used a sewing machine. ❤ they are very nice. Colors of the back match very well 😊 Why do you plunge all your work on water at the end ? I think it's the first time (except when you had died some pieces) I've seen you doing this
I used some thick Sashiko thread this time. It’s probably a similar thickness to four strands of an embroidery floss. You can use other thread as well. I noticed the supervisor swishing his/her tail…glad it approved of your work!🙂
I think she was not happy because the fabric was too small to sit on this time😂😂🐈🐈

I used a water erasable marker to draw the grid, so I needed to do it to remove the marks👍😊
@@thegreenwrapper obviously ! Mines are only heat erasable so I was thinking it was about treating the fabric 😅
