Why is TikTok so overprotective like TikTok says "WE ARE PROTECTING THIS USERS MENTAL HEALTH SO I WILL USE LETHAL FORCE IF YOU COMMENT ON MY BABY'S TIKTOK!!!" Like I want other people to comment on my videos but TikTok would just think that i'm a baby.
[I'm 13 but I put my age to 16 on TikTok so it's still ok but like even if you are 15 TikTok still treats you like a baby. 16 is like the middle ground between 13 and 18 in terms of features (eg. you still can't gift people if you are under 18)]

there is a restricted mode that might be turned on if ur older than 15 anyway. it’s under settings and privacy, then content preferences, and then you can see if restricted mode is turned on or off

I reported the issue and the only response I got was you can’t change your age, delete your account and make a new one. I was like even if I show you proof I’m 24? And they never responded.

I’m having the same issue. I could have sworn I put my actual age which is 33 but I guess not and I’m having trouble finding any success stories of anyone who’s actually gotten their problems fixed by tiktok support in a timely manner.
@@liminalaesthetic How funny...I'm 33 also. I didn't realize there was an issue except I'm at the point now where I should be able to monetize but can't because the app thinks I'm underage. Starting over isn't really an option, so my plan is to bug them once a week until the issue is fixed. I'll report back here and let everyone know how long it takes me...
This did work. To give you a sense of timing, I submitted the request and then sent a follow-up message in the app a week later. Tiktok responded after 7 days from my initial request. They then requested documentation and I submitted it the same day. It took another week for them to update it. All in all 14 days to get it resolved. :)

@@youcef5917If you have email notifications you can get it there as well. But they respond directly in the app. There's a reports tab and it gives you a message saying your feedback got a response and asks if you want to check.
