In summary, the easiest guide for newbies are crafting Bahamut coda weapons (claim 1 free from side story), get Sarasa for slime blasting and arcarum farming (claim from eternal side story), craft ultima weapons (claim 1 free from side story), farm multiple copies of M1 to M2 weapons and slowly build your grids, and once you reach early HL farm Dark Opus weapons. After that is the six dragons weapons and once you build your grids, you'll find yourself able to manually solo most M2 and Ennead raids (even full-auto if you have good characters). Around this time, you are also close to getting your first (or two) Astral weapon and this is where its good to stop the hardcore grind. Afterwards, its just doing daily hosts, side events, rise of the beasts, guild war, etc. until you either drain yourself out or get bored real quick. Take breaks when necessary and only play the game when you feel like it.
Heres my two cents for new players: Dont grind everything in the game like the world gonna end. Thats how you burn yourself out Spread and plan your grind. If youre feeling tired, take a break. Dont force yourself to play (This advice applies to every game but Granblue players are the most oblivious to this)
Im linking this video to all my friends so they can finally understand what this game is . Cause I could never explain to them wtf im doing all these years...
Thanks a lot for making this series. I'm a veteran but this game needs fresh blood to thrive for a while longer and I wish I had access to well-constructed vids like this one when I got started. Gonna share it with all the noobs I know.
>Makes a gbf tutorial >Puts the game's language in japanese Otherwise good guide because newbies in gbf are usually confused and left out and they need lots of directions especially with gbf's awful ui design
being a college student aagain poggies thank you prof mr streamer sir also if I might add: skip main stories, SKIP THEM ALL get free weapons and crystals if you really care about them, don't worry, you can replay the stories
Meanwhile me with 4 copies of chat's knife just in case it get a flb that somewhat changes water grids, remember guys and gals: trust in chat, have faith in chat
sold my damn r200 account and came back a year after because college was pretty boring, back to the ricefield I guess a tip I can give is to get the maximum arcarum tix asap bc that shit's too tedious as hell you'd most likely leave it for months atleast with max capped tix it wont come back to bite you in the ass
I wish I saw this guide years ago. I'm overall satisfied with the game but due to my competitive nature I am also greatly frustrated with it and wish to share my experience. To me at least the game is too grindy and does not respect your time. I've been playing for over 4 years now and my account is still bad. Having a guide will definitely help but I cannot stress enough the time commitment needed just to get a decent account. I personally keep coming back for the story and characters but the endless grinding is simply frustrating. Despite having my weapons/skills and summon grids maxed out in levels I'm only doing around 100,000 in damage compared to the 4,800,000 Hiroshi Sora is doing in the video. As of the time of writing this message I have over 2,800 hours on the game and while I don't regret playing the game as I do enjoy the writing I am still frustrated when playing higher level content. I almost never want to do raids since people beat the bosses in 1 turn and I'm here doing 0.01% of the bosses health in damage each turn so I get worse loot.
i've been trying to maintain an openaccess database of all characters based off gamewith and kamigame rankings. as i get new characters during a spark or an anniversery etc, I update all the rankings and add notes on what they are useful for etc. is anyone else doing this? it'd be really nice if i could just jump on a google spreadsheet and tick what i've unlocked and see what are the best selections for what i currently have. I might just do it myself. thank you for being there hiroshi
There used to be a well written "gaijin tier list" that did something like that, but it stopped being updated and went out of date years ago. I hope your project goes well!
wait how did you get that much damage at 29:20 ? I literally have the same grid but instead of the RotB spear I'm slotting the Crossbow with the progression and I'm only at 150k ?! are you estimating the damage with another Tiamat or that's just your base damage ?
Also summons, especially Bubs, and MC level make a difference. 150k sounds like way too less though if you're setting a good friend summon, which he definitely did
@@kw____ I already have bubs and belial both FLB but I didn't' put the friend summon into the estimated calculator thingy so it only showed my damage with 1 summon (I didn't know all the highlights I see on youtube where they show their damage is done according to the friendly summon). I calculated my damage with a friendly Tiamat after this video and at turn 10 (I have double progression) I have 440k damage so I think I'm fine. And from now on I'll just put friendly summon inti calculation to properly gauge my grid
There is also the highlander grid that my guildmate taught me when when I was starting. Get Scales of Dominion and put different types of weapon. The easiest way to get it now is if you dont use your gbf 8th birthday weapon trade.
Sorry but that's terrible advice. Aside from needing to farm that weapon (which is a dead raid nowadays) you also need the grid and chara to make it work. Because 9 out of 10 times you won't deal enough damage to make use of that extra cap. This goes double for newbies. Highlander is only worth considering for magna dirt and that requires Caim (an Evoker), so anything but newbie friendly. TLDR; if you don't know what you're doing, don't bother with Scales.
Honestly just farm 1 M2 grid and go from there. Highlander conflicts with most elements because of crit or a general lack of good weapons even at endgame. Weapons to actually make as a newbie are the free baha weapon and an EX mod (sidestories have a few if you arent playing when xeno is going on). Upgrade you seraphic weapon and arca summons. But most importantly just grind exp till rank 100 so you get access to the meaningful farms.
Not the best advice especially for beginners since it's a build that is super costly and tedious to farm. There's also Caim which although not mandatory for all elements, can help boost the damage on the build further. Just build M1 then shift to M2 after since it's a more stable build, you might consider getting opus this time as well then you can shift to Six-dragons raid after for the astral weapons since it greatly boosts the damage of the build with the unworldly skill. You can also farm their weapons as well if you want but the impossible versions of the dragon raids are a bit hard and unless you can dish out enough damage for the blue chest during raids, you're going to be having a hard time. Then farm the high-tier raids after, Ennead etc.
Recruiting evokers are very difficult and mats-gated for fresh newbies so I don't suggest that at all. Anubis is a solo battle now and a majority of newbies cannot solo him yet due to its shit ton of debuffs and dispels, so Scales is also hard to farm for them. The easiest guide for newbies are crafting Bahamut coda weapons (claim 1 free from side story), get Sarasa for slime blasting and arcarum farming (claim from eternal side story), craft ultima weapons (claim 1 free from side story), farm multiple copies of M1 to M2 weapons and slowly build your grids, and once you reach early HL farm Dark Opus weapons. 3 months late but anyway. In the wiki there is a page called Advanced Grids on the left side on the Guides section. It contains from the easiest HL to the hardest and some have video examples as well.
Man, I wish I found your channel earlier. I'm rank 155, and I'm still using magna 1 grid. So basically, I need to farm raglia weapon right . How many do I need for each grid
hi sora, i wanna ask if you can make a video to explain gold bar farming? cos im sorta gated with gold bar for my progression and valor badges is kinda limited. i've been hosting daily proto baha, akasha raids but the returns is not very favourable.
This is going to be the case, sadly. Gold bars are rare for a reason. The best you can do is try to schedule some time for playing Rise of the Beasts as much as possible when that even comes back around, it has over 10 gold bars worth of the nuggets/4 beast tokens that you can trade for, and any other source is going to be few and far between.

Is it too late for new players to catch up? Seems like everyone is light years ahead of me lol
I’ve started recently, but I’ve had few issues, just gotta take it slow there’s little need to rush
After seeing the raids and how quick high rank players eat them up, yeah they don't give a damn about sharing or helping.
