Aww I’m so happy for you !
Just finished watching the video about the job fired when you first started as a dental nurse and girl I can see how God works all things for our own good. So amazing. It all lead you to this new job. Glod bless u sis 💕
Forreal!!! Getting let go was definitely a blessing in disguise xD thank you and God bless you too 🥰💕💕💕🙏🏽🙏🏽
Wow god blessed you with a jackpot! Thanks Melanie for making these videos 🤍 They’re really informative, most importantly assuring for me that I am going in the right direction with this potential career. 🥰
Ofcourse! Love giving people insights to what to expect 🤗🤗 and yes God is sooo good all the time ☺️🤎
I’m glad you’re back!! I’m also so happy for you now that you found a better working environment. You seem happier and no longer stressed :) I can tell you enjoy going to work now. I wish more doctors would take care of their staff and actually show appreciation just like your Doctor does 😊
Glad to be back :D and yes I definitely don’t mind or dread going into work now xD I actually find it exciting 😆 fr more doctors need to step up their game 🙌🏽
I couldn’t take my eyes off of you or your pink aura 💖 you’re all blessed! 😍
I’m so happy you found your office!! 🎉🎉🎉 it’s such an amazing environment!
I love this! Sometimes God takes away certain stuff from us so he can give us something better ❤
Omg I’m so happy for you. I work in Ortho and this made me re think my life 😭😭
So awesome you found a great work environment!!.
Girl do we work at the same office or something cause you just described my office perfectly 😂
Seriously though, I'm glad you found a "work home". We're a big office with 4 doctors, 5 hygienists, 16 assistants, and 7 front office girls. Everyone is great. We all have our quirks but get along so well. Literally like a big family. We dont go on fancy trips like Vegas lol but we have team outings severally times a year to get to know each other better and to have fun. My doctor is so chill and laid back and I feel so lucky to have him as a doctor. He was willing to help me with a legal issue I had (thankfully I got it resolved). All in all, I feel so blessed to have a great job with even better people. Having a good work environment is so important for your mental health since you're there 35-40 hours a week. Hope it's a good place for you!
Wow Praise God that you found a great place with great people too!!🙌🏽🙌🏽 that sounds awesome and like there’s never a dull moment especially with 16 assistants!! Sheeesh 😆 and honestly, “fancy” trips aren’t a big thing, like it’s really beneficial to just hang out with your team PERIODT 🤗🤗
Hey girl! I was wondering when you would post again. Congratulations on your new office, it sounds like a dream!
Yeah I am so bad about having a consistent schedule 😅 there’s Lways something going on or movies to be watched and population one matches to be won xD and thank you!
Girl you did hit the Jackpot
Thank you for sharing! Praying I can end up in an office like yours!
You hit the jack pot girly!! Certified dental assistant here! I been in general for 2 years and looking to go into specialty. You make me not do it lol
Lol noo specialties can be very fun! XD Don’t knock it till you try it :P just make sure you get all the info first 🧐🧐
Sounds like you hit the jackpot girl ! I’ve been watching you since last year and wondered… “ where did she go “ 😂 I’m so glad you found your office !💖
It sure feels like it 🥰 and lol sorry I’ve been so secretive xD honestly, I wanted to wait a while before making the video just to make sure it wasn’t too good to be true :P
I graduated from an accelerated dental program in July. I’ve been training at another office until ours find staff for a new office. Regional manager hired me and chose me to be the lead DA. Personality, communication etc is why they want me to be the lead DA. I’m on week 3 of training and it’s a lot. I know I can do it. The lead DA that’s training me for my office has been thorough. Our office is going to be all digital so they want me to learn all of my instrument names, x rays, iTero and Trios. I’ll also be j charge of orders and making sure lab orders are in etc. the dr at the office that I’m training at made a comment at morning meeting that she’s not use to someone being slow.. I didn’t take it personal since im literally on week 3 and hands on with everything else. Kinda felt a bit discouraged that she made that comment. I hope my dr will be more understanding
Hey! I’m a EFDA from FL and I specialize in Pediatric Dentistry I left my last office due to the rude parents/bare minimum co-workers/horrible management and let’s just say the pay was pathetic considering I was one of two OP assistants and the bonus were like $26-$35 every other month a shame! I have an interview tomorrow so hopefully it goes well 🤞🏽
Mam how much do you earn as a dental assistant now? Plz reply. Thanks a lot.
Well a bonus is better than no bonus but I can see what you mean xD yeah it’s so hard to find a good office at :/ Were you able to land the job?!?! :D
A dentist is here .awesome video 👍🏼
Mazagangy82 sir how much do you earn now as a dentist? Plz reply. Thanks a lot.
What are the main things a dental assistant does throughout the day? I start my externship soon after doing a mostly remote course for assistants so I’m very unfamiliar to a dental office
Just got back into the field, they are using a consulting firm too.
You're literally describing my office for the most part.
I like the salary idea tho
I wish we did more trips
What office you at, maybe I'll move too Texas...
Consulting firms are the way to go :P! And all I will say is that it’s in Austin xD bigger cities have much better pay/benefits 👌🏽👌🏽
How long have you been assisting? I started at 42k out of school in 2020
Hi! I’m taking a Accelerated program for DA. We’re studying from the modern Dentistry textbook. What would you say is the easiest way to study to retain the information?
Honestly there are so many ways and my way may not be the right way for everyone, but I find the best way to retain the information is to just memorize and connect dots where you can. Make sure you understand how it works. That’s why I think externships are so helpful during school bc when you are seeing first hand patient/assistant/dr interactions, it helps you retain info more :)
I have 6 years experience orthodontist assisting
I’m in college at the moment but I am going to start dental assisting again just for the quick cash. This is just a regular job for me not a career anymore
Without an assistant there would not be a Dr.(or maybe the dentist could see about 4 patients a day...yeah, just like them being in dental schoolall over). Let that sink in. The DA pay needs to be increased tremendously.
been almost 2 months since i became a DA and im not yet familiar with the instruments our dentist's asking ,is that normal? i mean i started with no experience and no idea at all,im genuinely doubting if this is the career i shld take or get another job 😕
How many days do you work a week? Consistency is key 🔑 and did you go to RDA school? It takes a while. Especially if you are doing different procedures all the time. Make sure to have one of the other DA’s tell u what the instruments are and take pics of them and write down what each of them is and does. I also have a video on dental instruments for beginners if you wanna check that out and hopefully it helps! 2 months in I was pretty unsure too! Keep trying, it takes long to get used to everything. I’ll be praying for you 🤎
@@MelanieLunaDiaz thank you very much, that'd help a lot , i'll be sure to check out the video about instruments that you recommended, i work 5 days a week , and there's no other DA teaching me as of now, the other DA kinda left me after 1 week 🥲 , and the doctor's quite giving me anxiety when they sigh when i cldnt get the exact instruments theyre asking so it kinda hurts 🤧 ,
Don't give up. I started DA w/o experience and school, working PRN. I understand your anxiety. I felt like an imposter.. I just decided school was the way.. no way I was gonna learn everything at work. I was hardly there. It gets easier the more you do it, trust me. Just DONT GIVE UP!! @@Fabbiiii
Can you please give us more information about the consulting group/mentoring group you are part of?
It’s called the Brady Group 🤓 but yes, I can make a video about it in the future😁
Why did they fire you? I'm having g problems now dental assisting is hard all the way around..
Because I went to interview at another job .-. And I’m sorry to hear :( it does seem tough in the beginning because of all the pressure. But I promise things get better. Just have faith that God will bring you through this 🫶🏽 praying for you 🤎
In Arizona for general dental assistants, and this is probably the best scenario you're Gon get as an assistant unless you become an office manager.
General dental assistants that work 4 days /10 hours at an office. Make approximately 45k-50k a year , with a 22 dollar average and 28dollar high end.
That's just 4 days out the week though, the other 3 days you go temporary assisting for around 30 dollars an hour, same day pay as a independent contractor. Brings your yearly pay up to approximately 75k a year. If you want to be a work slave.
Oh wow :o very informative indeed. AND YES!! I’ve heared temps get paid BANK. I knew a temp who said he was getting paid close to 40 😱
@@MelanieLunaDiaz oh yeah u can definitely make a lot of money depending what state you're in. In Arizona the average temp hourly is definitely above 25 and around the 30 mark.
Downside about temping is the taxes. Your employer pays part of your taxes and you pay the other half. Once you become a temp or what's known as an independent contractor, you have to pay the taxes your self, so by the end of the year its possible they you will actually owe a lot of taxes. I knew a gal that had to pay 4k in taxes cuz she was temping a lot .
Mam if you earn around 40k dollars a year before tax then what is your take home pay after taxes? Plz reply. Thanks a lot.
@@MelanieLunaDiaz ,The Dental l hygienist median salary is around $77,000 to $88,000 a year , that means a dental nurse should be earning $ 50k - 65k a year , that means you are still getting paid a low wage .
What are the challenges of being a dental assistant ?
I think really the major challenges I can point out right now are back issues, rowdy “mean” patients, and accidental needle or sharps sticking you 😬
I’m the same way I be drained from talking long hours and I don’t want to talk anymore
Anyone know if Aspen dental is a good place to work? I have an interview in a few days
How do you get raises i just grad. in aug with all my certifications and they have since hired 2 new assistants without xrays licenses im having to take theres all day while they get 22 hr im stuck at 16.50 ive asked for raised and get we will keep you in consideration.im not sure if i should move on.
LEAVE, they simply just don’t care, simple as that plenty of jobs willing to pay you 22+ especially with all your certifications!
LEAVE you have to Demand your worthy and be confident of these doctors walk all over you
Jealousy is a disease and I have it 😭😭😅
No 😂😂😂 It’s one of the seven deadly sins!!!
But lowkey I have it too sometimes 🤫
How much is the salary ? Can you tell me please becuase i decide to study this major but I don’t know about salary
And where do you live I live in Toronto just I want to about the salary I ask
@@sashalee4598 yes which isn't much when DH earn 70 k plus a year . Dental nurses should be fighting for 50 k plus a year
Mam how much your dentist earns a year? Plz reply. Thanks a lot.
I can only estimate and assume based on what number we need to hit to meet our bonus goal. And idk how much he spends on paying all of us and all his other expenses. But maybe 1.2 million a year
Oh lucky you
It’s truly annoying when doctors talk way too much it throws dental assistants their work! I’m usually the one to cut the convo short n sweet.
Girl is your office hiring… lol I’m looking for a work home 😩
Not at the moment! But I’ll be praying you find a great place to work in!! 🤎🤎🤎
What was your starting salary?
When I originally got hired, I was hired at 26 an hour. (I wasn’t salaried until the start of this year :)
I need job in dental
Are you still gonna pursue dental hygiene?
Unfortunately not 😅 so I’m going to be a relator and join my parents house business in the future now :)
Is your office general? Or ortho?
I just finished dental assistant school and landed a job in sc. How do you find the offices with bonuses
@@kekesimpson89 sorry I think my brain’s not working well xD what is sc? And usually they have it written on their ad. Should say supplemental income or bonus opportunities. Another way to find out is to just ask during the interview :)
@@kekesimpson89how much do you earn now as a dental assistant? Plz reply. Thanks a lot.

Well indeed.com always has jobs to apply for :) OR you could do it the old Fashion way and walk into dental clinics, ask if they are hiring and dropp off your resume ^.^
Dammmmm girl you talk to much about nothing lol 😂
Came here from the Dental Spanish Terms video and stayed for the pop culture references 🧽😂💖✝️🦷
I’m nothing if not filled with references 😂 thanks for watching!! 🫶🏽
Honestly can’t wait until I start dental assisting school and get in the career field 🩷🩷🩷 I’m so excited for it but I’m all on Gods timing right now so I do have to wait until everything falls into place 🫶🏽
Amen sister 🙏🏽 and everything falling into place shall be when putting God first 🙌🏽 excited for you too!!! 🤎🤎
My 2nd year now as a DA, Im expected to hit around 36k+ this year! But my god 4 days a week and doing those numbers , that’s amazing 🥲
General offices are usually good about work / life balance but it is really tough to find a dentist that values their staff and compensates properly.
Fr! That’s why I thank God everyday for this position bc jobs like these are hard to find
