Great Catches at Deerfield, Illinois on 14.07.12, CP / DM&E / Soo Line, Amtrak & Metra

An evening by the Metra Milwaukee District North Line / Canadian Pacific C&M Sub tracks at Deerfield, Illinois turned out to be one very well-spent! Several really great catches made the trip worthwhile. I didn't bother filming (most of) the Metra trains here. Train descriptions follow:
Train 1:
With the summertime cicadas making a whole lot of noise, a Canadian Pacific intermodal heads north. It's CP's train 290, Bensenville, IL to Shoreham Yard,
St Paul, MN, and lately has been running with interesting power, as here with Soo Line SD60 #6035 and rare SD60M "Triclops" #6051. Sorry about the awkward panning here, I had to shoot over a fence.
Train 2:
Meeting CP 290 is a southbound ethanol train with more great power-
Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern SD40-2 #6051, Soo Line SD60 #6047 and CP Rail SD40-2 #5995.
Train 3:
Amtrak train #8, the eastbound 'Empire Builder' is running several hours late, but has a rare consist! P32-8BWH #507 led the train all the way from Seattle, and the private sleeping car, 'Berlin' is tacked on the rear. It is a former American European / Orient Express car.
Train 4:
With those cicadas doing their best to drown out the train, a CP manifest heads north, led by ES44AC #8726 and AC4400 #8759, with a Seaboard System hopper and a cut of brand-new well cars bringing up the rear.
Train 5:
Amtrak Hiawatha Service train #340 zips south through Deerfield on its way to Glenview and Chicago.
Train 6:
Hiawatha Service train #341 rounds the "Deerfield Curve" northbound to Sturtevant and Milwaukee. NPCU #90200's baggage roll-door seems to have been replaced by a more conventional door.
Train 7:
MP36PH-3S #427 brings an extra train on the MD North Line to a stop at Deerfield station. Metra ran extra trains on most of its lines to accommodate the crowds going to the Taste of Chicago in Grant Park.
Train 8:
The last train of the night I bothered to film, a short, southbound CP manifest led solo by an AC4400.

that sucks but o well blame the whiny bastards that live there for it lol i live near 1 too but since its near its been a quiet zone for quite a while now idk about this 1 anyway great video like i said before....

why isnt there no horn when the trains go by? is it some sort of stupid quiet zone? anyway that is a really great video good job!!!

Yes, it's a quiet zone. Most places in the northern and western Chicago suburbs are quiet zones.
