Strange how I never noticed a single thing you're on about.
10:36 you can see the exact issue I'm having here too. On natural, the white balance is too warm. I did a perceptual match with my QD-OLED that I've calibrated to D65 with a colorimeter (i1d3) that's been profiled with a 2nm spectroradiometer (CR-300) so that there's barely any metameric failure (meaning I can set QD OLEDs to neutral white correctly) and natural was quite a bit too warm. Vivid (with vividness 0 and middle white balance position) actually was much closer to D65 and required only an additional -1 on the green in the advanced option for a perfect match to D65 on my TV. The white balance in natural was so far off that when comparing a bunch of photos (from different cameras and smartphones, edited and unedited using either DCI-P3 or sRGB) between my calibrated TV in graphic mode (basically accuracy of a 3D LUT), vivid was the more accurate one because the slight oversaturation was less destructive to the image than the wrong white balance using natural. Of course all icons with their highly saturated colors are less accurate using vivid than natural, but for regular content with skintones, vivid surpisingly takes the cake. I wish Samsung would give us white balance controls for 'natural' the same way as for 'vivid'.
1 minute ago is crazy. Anyway mate you should do a full in depth comparison vs the OnePlus 13, I think it will give a great perspective to people looking to buy a flagship in 2025, and especially those looking for the best value.
week one after Coming from an S22U - at first I found it hard to separate myself from the older design of the curved edges, One of the things I was looking forward to most with this phone was the squared off ages so when I pick up the phone I don’t touch stuff on my screen. But the phone felt distant and not mine yet, It felt like I betrayed the S22U 😂, coming from android 14 to 15 and the way a few things have changed definitely was responsible for that. But as the weeks gone on and I have fixed a few off those settings to be similar to how I had them the phone is feeling more familiar and the upgrades are really starting to shine. I haven’t been on a flatscreen phone for about eight years, and when trying to edit with the stylus to the very edge of the screen it was increasingly frustrating as the s-pen lid off the curve display. The flat display and slightly rounded corners was what I was looking forward to most. I never found the S22U sharp to hold, I do prefer the S25U screen layout. Quite obviously there is a night and day speed difference, camera wise I’m yet to utilise the extra features over the S22U, but even to this day, three years later I still find those cameras quite decent. Overall the S 25 ultra is growing on me and I think the more you use it the more you appreciate it, i’m happy to hold onto this thing for three or four years.
As an S22 ultra exynos user i feel now may be the time to upgrade, i can get the 1TB version of the s25 ultra for €1100 after trading in any old device(probably my note 8) that's worth it right?
2:40 10% left that will last for couple more hours of video playback? I doubt that. 10% seems to go down very quickly for mine. Depending what you are doing on it ofcourse.
Should i get the oppo find x8 tho or the S25U? I do love the fast 80w charging but I don't wanna miss out what samsung offers as a daily phone. Coming from an IP13pm

Great video as usual, love all your content. I am very happy to hear I was not the only one who loved the jet black lol I see everyone fawning over the jade green, but I got the jet black and I love it.
I love your videos. I am in a dilemma to keep my s24u or trade it in and keep the s25u. I have 2 weeks to make up my mind and I keep going back and forth. Not sure if the $565 additional with the trade in is worth keeping the new one.
I've been a fan of Samsung since the galaxy s2. But I think Samsung is betraying its identity. It's starting to look more and more like the iPhone. And the strategy also resembles Apple's. The S25 Ultra is a top device, but another UA-cam channel that takes the phone apart shows that the 25 is a step back from the 24 Ultra in hardware. The camera upgrade is mainly software tweaking. The non-reflective screen disappears as soon as you place a screen protector. The straight sides are too sharp. All in all, the upgrade is AI and software. For a few milliseconds faster apps open or just a little sharper photos or a talking phone? If you want the latest every year, buy it. But if you have the 23 or 24, use it for another year because you're not missing much.
It is worth noting that ram plus is on by default on the s25 ultra and slows down the phone quite a bit. I turned it off and I swear the camera shutter is faster and the image processing is definitely significantly faster, so is booting the phone up
There are Oneplus 13, I have instead Vivo x200 Pro and my friend got the Honor Magic 7 Pro. No complaints. They are more than satisfactory at a lower cost.
Question. I was thinking of moving to Samsung from iPhone. The perk I love with iPhone is that you can access your desktop Mac files from my iPhone. Can I access my Mac files from the Samsung phone?
You've earned a sub from me! Trust a Brit to brew a cuppa before rolling their sleeves up and getting down to business, and not getting caught up in the "it's the same phone but worse!" bandwagon. Of all the reviews I've read from actual owners, I've consistently heard that it is an upgrade over last year's offering - whether the small increases here and there are worthwhile, is where everyone seems to differing in opinion. I'm personally waiting for mine and coming from a Pixel 7 Pro, I know I'm going to thoroughly enjoy it!
Upgrades are less frequent these days, comparisons should be with S22 or S23 Ultra! I'm upgrading from S22 Ultra. Love the new design and materials, I expect solid improvements all around but nothing crazy.
I almost forgot you are English. After watching MKBHD's video, I thought your voice was something wrong. No, it's your British accent 😅. Joke aside, as usual thorough review. 💪
I'm almost positive that either A. Samsung removed key S-pen functionality and other things to cut costs (as I recall some Samsung S25 series related article suggesting Samsung would need to cut corners - which they literally did in the case of the S25 Ultra - just to add the latest Snapdragon chipset or else reused last years processor and opt to not cut corners elsewhere.) Or B. Samsung will nuke the S-pen all together going forward, and possibly starting with the S26 Ultra.
S23Ultra user here... upgrading to S23Ultra (JetBlack). For some reason, I thought my S23U had 7 years of software support. Apparently, that started with the S24Ultra. Bummed about no bluetooth support 😞
Got one, and I’m absolutely loving it-but those sharp edges? Man, nobody warned me. Not exaggerating, but if you’re using it while lying down, it hurts (feels like it could cut through 😆). That aside, day-to-day usage is an absolute pleasure. Coming from a 15 Pro Max, I didn’t think I’d miss the Apple ecosystem this much. The little things-like copying text on my MacBook and instantly pasting it on my iPhone without fail-really add up. Or receiving calls and text messages directly on my Mac, seamlessly. And don’t even get me started on the Apple Watch-still untouchable. It’s a solid device, no doubt, just some things just hit different once you leave Apple.
Some of it, yes. The screen colour, the galaxy AI features. But the battery life / camera / performance / cooling - are due to the 8 Elite, upgraded ProVisual engine, and bigger cooler
I used the 24 and 25 ultra side by side for 5 days. The 25 ultra really feels like a huge upgrade when it comes to speed and performance. I really think it feels bigger than the 23 to 24 or 22 to 23.
Do you people use a screen protector? If so, does it not diminish the anti-reflection and the fingerprint sensor? If not, how will i be able to safely slide it into my pocket as I've always done before?
Had mine for 3 days. The processing power is insane - all apps download, update and install almost instantly and love the fact you can do AI processing locally. Dunno if UI7 has any effect but the phone feels sooo much faster than my S23U. Add the noticeably better battery + better ergonomics and screen really surprised me. I purchased it simply because of a crazy deal I got but now super happy with the upgrade!
Can we get this sort of review for the smaller s25 as well? Extrapolating from this video, the regular phones should be much better and they would have had no downgrades to them, right?
I upgraded from an S20 Ultra to the S25 Ultra so I'm really happy with my purchase I got 512gb S25 U, free samsung case, Galaxy bud pro3 and 45w charger for £45 a month I'm delighted with the deal
I’m actually really excited for mine to arrive. Still showing “Awaiting Dispatch”. I’m basically an iPhone guy since day 1 but just sold my iPhone 16 Pro Max for this. I’ve played with it in store and can’t wait to have some fun with it. Where as most people are saying it’s not much of an upgrade from the last 1 that doesn’t affect me as I’ve never owned 1 before 😂.
Coming from S22 ultra, I upgraded to S25 ultra and apart from being fast, smooth and optimized battery, there's nothing to boast about S25 ultra. The removal of s-pen Bluetooth is a very bad decision and I have already felt it's need. The teardown video on Jerry's channel shows the s-pen slot has wireless charging coil provided which means they might sell the Bluetooth pens later. Im also fan of curved screen and that's why I didn't upgraded last year. S25 ultra feels like S25+ with an additional camera. 😢

Exact same situation here! I have the Note 9 and ordered the 1TB Ultra which hasn't arrived yet. If I don't like it I'll return it. My Note 9 has been great. R u keeping the S25?
@@MrLanternland I haven't got it yet. I will probably have to as the Note 9 is slow and battery is dying.
Mrs Tech Chap is holding that camera real steady. Good work.

Summarizing the S25 Ultra review as comparison is the thief of joy reaffirms my decision to buy the OnePlus 13 this year.
The change to support 15v 3a charging has been awesome for me. I have many chargers that support 15v 3a, but not many that support 10v 4.5a PPS. Suprised this hasn't been mentioned more by reviewers.

That foggy bridge wallpaper and setup? 🤩 Will you share 🙏
I keep my S21 Ultra for another year since it will get OneUI 7 too. The jump to S26 Ultra will be a worthy upgrade. I never understood why some people upgrade every year while the changes are minor.
People need to have the latest and greatest.
the preorder trade in values make yearly upgrades pretty cheap
@@lorddoma6637 I have an S23 Ultra, and on it's not i want the latest and greatest at all. I bought it cause i really like phones, and it came out with a nice discount on my country. Do i need it? Probs not, but i'm not travelling anymore, so i'm buying a new phone. What the hell. its what it gets me happy. I like to spend my money on phones. Even if your comment makes my argument viable, however i think it 's to make us look like shallows and show offs.
I paid €600 for a 25 Ultra 512GB with all the discounts
@@spoonherr If you made a trade-in, you need to add the new price of the other phone to the 600€ otherwise your calculation is wrong.
I have been subbed to you when you had less than 1000 subs. Now you have 1.5 million.
I've had mine for a week, I like everything about the phone except the camera is subpar indoors and even slightly moving objects in a lot of light are blurry 95 percent of the time. If I'm going to take photos somewhere and I want to put the phone back in my pocket knowing the photos all came out well I'll take my Pixel with me.
I just bought mine today. Haven't tried it out yet. But I don't expect Samsung photos without motion blur.
@rajbirsingh1230 Yeah, that will never change.
Same with my s23+ and is disappointing to hear samsung hasnt fixed this issue.
@@rajbirsingh1230 not only motion blur, decent indoor performance (even with great light) seems like mission impossible for Samsung engineers to solve. That's why most of the "honest" reviews show 99% outdoor pictures
This is ofc no excuse for Samsung not fixing this, but since I assume you'll keep using the phone, I definitely advise getting into the pro mode (especially shutter speed and ISO) controlling those aspects manually will fix some of the sluggish work samsung did with the auto mode 😅
"one man's overkill is another man's future proof" Nice😃
Upgraded from S23U, regretted in the beginning
Two weeks later and I absolutely love it
Got a really good deal trading my previous phone, got 750$ back and 180$ credit
Need Samsung to make a BT S-pen and I'm good 😅
You absolutely love everything if you spend 2 weeks with it
Sent mine back after 4 days and got the OnePlus 13 and like it way more
Ohh interesting! Any downsides to switching?
You like that UI?
I did the same thing. And I've been a samsung user for 10 years.
Question is can you trust Chinese brands ?
@gk2298-exz that's my only worry. I love OnePlus phones but I wonder about this too. Just not that China itself is spying on me but that the phones might not be very secure. My sister-in-law uses one plus phones and some scammers got remote access to her phone and scammed her out of 1000 of dollars a few years ago.
I came out hard on this phone. Yet I had to upgrade my s22U bcz of scrolling issues. I never thought I'd get this much improvement looking at the spec sheet. I am beyond blown away and impressed with the S25 ultra. I had to eat my words. I can't lie, though. This was a very pleasant surprise.
Cheaper phones give u better hardware not wise to give money to samsung for hardware they used 5 years ago
Couldn't agree with you more, I was considering a few different options but after researching all the specs across a few brands I went with the Galaxy S25 Ultra 1TB Titanium JetBlack..
Great video by the way..
The S24 Ultra was very nearly the perfect phone. The S25 Ultra has improved on that and pretty much is the perfect phone now imo. The upgrades in recent years have seemed less "worth it" because of just how good Samsung phones have been since the S20 really. I dont really see how phones get noticeably better from here unless they start costing 3 grand a piece.
You're WRONG. 45W CHARGING IS WHAT STOPS ME FROM LIKING SAMSUNG ULTRA PHONE ANYMORE.
S24U was an epic shitshow lol. Especially the camera.get your head out of the sand.
@galactus1111 almost everyone in the reviewing world disagrees with that statement but yeah I'm the one that needs to get my head out the sand, I can do that for you sir
@@ct9451 "nearly perfect" with those display problems (grain), terrible cameras, weak vibration, One UI that constantly needs to be fixed (and still - it isn't on S24 series) ??? If you're looking at what competition has to offer, S24U is far from good, let alone the great or "perfect" (unless you're ok with grainy defected display or cameras that can't take decent pic of moving subject just like 10 years ago)Don't trust what paid youtubers say, check the reality...
@@stevanb.2590 the only people that slag off Samsung phones are usually either Apple fanboys or too broke to afford a flagship Samsung so they think of made up reasons why they "don't want one anyway"
I'm sure if the faults were as plentiful as you say it'd be more widespread among the owners.
Returned the 25Ultra, after a week of usage. Didn't see a huge improvement in day to day usage from my 21ultra.
That log video looks professional broo
Still waiting for my S25U 🙂 one question: where we can find your wallpaper; the one with the fog? 🙂 thanks.
Damn i made the wrong choice when i choose black color.
That silver color looks amazing 😱😱
For me i don't buy anything on black colors 😊
Love the info! Love the perspective! Loving the video format! Really great job and I truly enjoy watching!
Cheers :)
9:38 where to get wallpaper
The improvements are mostly software related than hardware related, many optimizations could be made for the S24 U.
Hello Hello.Nice work done here. I want to ask If it is only software update for the cameras why they dont give them to S24 series?
Even after a year 24ultra is a good beast n has loaded more features. Seems s26ultra will have good reasons to upgrades for most s24U users like me.
1 minute ago is crazy. Anyway mate you should do a full in depth comparison vs the OnePlus 13, I think it will give a great perspective to people looking to buy a flagship in 2025, and especially those looking for the best value.
I will do!
week one after Coming from an S22U - at first I found it hard to separate myself from the older design of the curved edges, One of the things I was looking forward to most with this phone was the squared off ages so when I pick up the phone I don’t touch stuff on my screen.
Hey my friend.. can u tell me what game u were playing on the phone? Looked like Diablo but I’m not sure… I want it :)
0:56 I thought the pigeon is on your head🤣🤣
Were both of these relatively new? Both 1-2 weeks out of the box?
Still rocking my s20 ultra. Hasnt let me down yet.
Probably, the most accurate review of the S25u. I traded up from my s22u. No Regrets, I'm loving it!
Not enough people are talking about how good the speakers sound on this phone.
They are very good
@Thetechchap noticeable upgrade
Sound quality on the iPhone is still better, unfortunately. Even on the previous 15 Pro Max.
@10:30 load up some low resolution images with text in gallery and zoom in. It will automatically Ai upscale low res or blurry elements as you zoom in and you can see it working in real time.
7:07 you said it has "Directors View," but I can't find that listed anywhere else. Did they really bring it back?
It's called Dual Rec now :)
What game were you playing at 1:25 ?
Great video as usual, love all your content. I am very happy to hear I was not the only one who loved the jet black lol I see everyone fawning over the jade green, but I got the jet black and I love it.
Is it worth upgrading from s23 ultra or wait another year
I love your videos. I am in a dilemma to keep my s24u or trade it in and keep the s25u. I have 2 weeks to make up my mind and I keep going back and forth. Not sure if the $565 additional with the trade in is worth keeping the new one.
6:35-6:41 damn thos Magic 7 Pro shots look amazing, so sharp and detailed
I'm upgrading from an S10+ and looking forward to it! It sounds like a really big upgrade for me.
Good to see Wells in your videos.
7:28 i saw a video online that highlighted better dynamic shots using the expert raw app (and usually better looking point and shoot with that app)
I'm almost positive that either
A. Samsung removed key S-pen functionality and other things to cut costs (as I recall some Samsung S25 series related article suggesting Samsung would need to cut corners - which they literally did in the case of the S25 Ultra - just to add the latest Snapdragon chipset or else reused last years processor and opt to not cut corners elsewhere.)
Or B. Samsung will nuke the S-pen all together going forward, and possibly starting with the S26 Ultra.
Thank you Tom.
6:19 😂 I wasn't ready for this
S23Ultra user here... upgrading to S23Ultra (JetBlack).
Great review as always 🤟
Hi Tom. Great content as always. Could this difference just be the software? One UI 7
Some of it, yes. The screen colour, the galaxy AI features. But the battery life / camera / performance / cooling - are due to the 8 Elite, upgraded ProVisual engine, and bigger cooler
Just ordered my Jet Black S25 :D Moving up from the S21
I used the 24 and 25 ultra side by side for 5 days. The 25 ultra really feels like a huge upgrade when it comes to speed and performance. I really think it feels bigger than the 23 to 24 or 22 to 23.
I agree and that’s why I trade my s24 ultra for it! Very happy with my decision 🔥
Do you people use a screen protector? If so, does it not diminish the anti-reflection and the fingerprint sensor? If not, how will i be able to safely slide it into my pocket as I've always done before?
So i have a question, with all the software updats on the s25 ultra put onto the s24 Ultra,Would you upgrade ?
Skip
Absolutely not
For someone who is using a 4-year-old Android and wants to upgrade which phone would be better the s24 ultra or s25 ultra ?
But is it good idea to it from iphone to android ?
Sticking with my S22 Ultra for another year.
still going strong 💪
Nobody cares
Love mine. Got it with watch 7
"one man's overkill is another man future proof" the tech chap!
I have a fold 4. Debating if I should go for the 25 ultra or wait for the fold 7. Main issues was the front screen aspect ratio and weight
7:24 Have you ever tried burst shoot mode (dragging shutter button down and holding it) for moving subjects?
Quite an Enjoyable review, and maybe all these features will get trickled down to last gen as well!
-- a fellow s24u user.
Can we get this sort of review for the smaller s25 as well?
Extrapolating from this video, the regular phones should be much better and they would have had no downgrades to them, right?
I currently have a Apple 14 pro max, about to upgrade to a S25U. Y’all think ittle be with it??
Is that the titanium silver blue or white?
This is the best Ultra device in years. Samsung has got the best combination of hardware and software in the world of Android
Still don't worth upgrading from s24 ultra, i prefer the square design.
What!? Dude that's a big upgrade from an s22 ultra.
@pono321 I'm huge fan of curved display. This is what separates ultra series from regular S series. It wasn't a big upgrade tbh.
Tech chap please which game is that
Do you know if or when the honor magic v3 will release in South Africa or world wide
Honestly like the look and feel of the s24 ultra for me. The sharp corners everyone complains about don’t bother me at all.
Thank you for being true to the review, I was tempted to upgrade to the s25 ULTRA, but, giving the review I think I will go with the honor magic 7 pro.
